Hopefully this battle seems balanced, 79ers - I'm being extra cautious due to Witch/Necromancer combo.(Also, making sure I don't murder Althior for a second time.)

So these Gloves of the Undead Assassin... do they net the wearer 5 regained HP or a +5 permanent health boost for every kill... :look:

Yes I've finally started to read Quest 69.

I'm putting in a strong word for more lucky instant kill enemies.

:look: I don't know if I can say that the quest took a turn for the better as far as being interesting is concerned since that battle began. :sceptic:

But whatever floats your boat. :sadnew:

I thought it was a permanent +5 health boost, but it's just 5 HP.

Agreed. I take my time crafting the most devious combination of enemies for the most grueling battles.

He means that he finally gets to kill people. :shrug_confused:

Nope. He just kindly asked Avery to leave. :shrug_oh_well:

 We're almost done with the quest anyway. Just one more jump, and if everyone plays it smart and pays attention to what they've learned, it should be a quick one.

I must not have been paying enough attention. I'm rather clueless. I love reading these kinds of quests like this one or Etzel's last, but I'm not sure how good I'd be at actually finding out the answer.

Quite a lot has happened behind the scenes too, so that might explain why you feel you're missing something. Avery was quite cooperative with Nyx last jump, but you haven't seen that happen.

QM Note: Johon, where in the world did you get 14 Smelling Salts and Nostrums? Is it meant to be 4?

Probably bought them after he made a mountain of gold in Quest 48.

Right, you've got a lot of side quests going.

And she was initially cooperative with me, too, but I decided to attack the bystanders to make sure they couldn't flee, and she wasn't too happy about that.

Quite a few of them are three or four pages long, at this point. They'll all be published after the quest. It is to encourage people's thinking - they actually have to actively pool information.

Though he does look pretty cool as an assassin

 That's awesome! I love Jeaux's character (and also think it's rather fitting that you're a programmer IRL, or so you said at some point). Just one question regarding something that I might have missed: has he realized that he's an automaton? I thought you were playing him so that he didn't, but his current quest seems to indicate otherwise.

I was at first, but I started to find it a bit too limiting to be playing him as something he was not so I setup a small reveal scene for him. I actually had it planned for when one of the lizards on Terra Nova managed to KO him, but it never happened so I instead inserted it into the hall thread shortly after returning.
