UsernameMDM Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 (edited) WOW! So many goodies on that quest! I'lll take those greaves, greatsword and Galactic Armor please! Edited August 14, 2013 by UsernameMDM Quote
Flipz Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 (edited) Sandy used Mind Reader! It's super effective! Edited August 14, 2013 by Flipz Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Galactic Armor... I'm not sure if I want it or not. It's Backwear, so it would replace the Cobweb Cowl, and immunity to Instant KO is definitely better than Immunity to Doomed. Bonus SP and HP is nice and I would love it, but I have plenty. Would be a very nice artifact to swap in and out...but not, in fact, terribly necessary for Docken. Second Post: I just realized that I'm talking about what is probably the most purely tankish armor created so far, with significant bonuses to SP and HP and immunity to a very deadly effect, and I can say that I don't really need it. I had that reaction when I realized I was turning down a unique Scroll in Quest 77. I'm not sure whether I should be delighted or appalled. (Incidentally, when I said "Sandy used Mind Reader", I meant that one of those items is a perfect fit both thematically AND mechanically for an Expert Class I have in the works--and I think the risk-takers we have in Heroica will really enjoy said class. ) Quote
CMP Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 QM Note: Oh, that's where I saw an Uruk before! It was Pie's in the Writeboard Pseudo-Quests! Did we ever see a race and culture established for this minifig? I didn't really decide on anything, other than that if you look at the URL of the avatar, you'll see that I gave him a name in Klingon. Sort of. They showed up in a very early draft of Quest 51, actually, and they're still relevant. I just have no idea as to whether I'll use them or not. So....I don't know. Quote

Dannylonglegs Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Sorry everyone for my patchy participation as of late. I'm pleased to announce that my summer class has ended and I should be able to really speed things up in 76. Thanks for all your patience. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
JimBee Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Nothing really interests me there, either. Sure, the items are great, but what does one do when one's ultimate Assassin build is nearly complete? There's not much to look forward to in terms of artifacts; what I really need are scrolls. Quote
Rumble Strike Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 So many vultures out there! We have to beat the guys to get their stuff! Won't be easy! Quote

I kind of have an idea for the uruks as members of Largh-Mund's species, but that only remains a thought and thus I would not want it to get in the way of your planning. And yes, I do still remember the fate of poor Akhzalga during the Great Rubric Fire. Edited August 15, 2013 by Scorpiox Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Technically speaking Largh-Mund uses the same head as Igmund who is a half-troll. Quote

Well, since we have received no rewards so far in 72, and almost no experience either, Avery's ??? Loot is going to be amaaaaazing. That's just common sense. Scrolls, you got it, Artifacts, gold, everything. Or Zepher can be mean. Probably that. Quote

Cutcobra Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 So, when are we getting the Guardian Of Justice expert class. Quote
Flipz Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Consider yourself lucky if it's more than 2 gold. This. There's only one item so far from Q75 that I'd want, as compared to the "I want EVERYTHING" stuff from Q50. Well, since we have received no rewards so far in 72, and almost no experience either, Avery's ??? Loot is going to be amaaaaazing. That's just common sense. Scrolls, you got it, Artifacts, gold, everything. Or Zepher can be mean. Probably that. I just know that the Pongcanis king will drop hundreds of thousands of Gold, and Level-up mushrooms, Grating Stones, and Zoot's Cookies galore. Considering that our poor Level 1 character has been playing actively for a month and is still only Level 2. Quote

Rumble Strike Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Being in a Zepher quest is it's own reward Quote

You're supposed to be investigating right now. And don't forget: it's an open-world quest -- you can go attack people if you want XP. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Quests move at different paces with different levels of rewards. Absolutely, but little loot and a slow pace aren't the best way to keep your players happy, just some advice. Quote

And don't forget: it's an open-world quest -- you can go attack people if you want XP. This is something I wonder about- can PC's just attack people in battle for XP? It wouldn't seem fair to get easy XP like that. But on the other hand I've heard it suggested that you make town guards or the villagers you pillage be insanely high level. But then of course, if the party loses, they fail the quest. I'm just curious about this. Though maybe if they choose to attack the villagers, you could just say "You kill the villager," without initiating a battle. Quote

If it were me. I'd allow it, after giving a warning, but I'd make it a really hard fight with little reward to win. I think people will not keep doing it, simply because it serves no purpose, and takes a lot of time, without moving the quest along. Quote
