That actually makes a lot of sense.

It's really a little tragic if you think about it. Lots of symbolism in there. I wonder how many people Boomingham has promised a drink and then never got around to it with.

Karie's one of them, but for completely different reasons.:laugh:

Is anyone else getting a message from flickr about their servers being too busy to allow uploads at the moment?

flickr's been having problems for days, unfortunately. :sceptic:

That's why some of us use Brickshelf. :snicker:

And I just noticed some errors in the party loot document I've been keeping. Took me forever to look through the whole quest and see where I made the errors, but I think it's over now.

...And now comes the really hard part. :sceptic:

Unarmed Pongcanis Warrior

Humanoid Beast

Level:
12

Health:
55/55

Defense:
0

Special:
Unwise to Upset a Pongcanis
- The Pongcanis attempts to rip the targets arms off. 10 Damage ignoring Row is dealt, there is a 50% chance that such Damage ignores SP as well, a 25% chance that the target's weapon, shield, and any Handwear or Accessories are unequipped, and a 12.5% chance that the target is instantly Knocked Out.

Drops: 100 Gold

Awesome. But I think the Unarmed Pog should arm himself with the disarmed target's arms, even in the case that the arms are still in the armed hero's arms when they've been disarmed, or maybe he disarms the arms and use the disarmed, unarmed arms as arms. Hell, maybe he could arm the unarmed arms with another hero's disarmed arms. Maybe he arms each disarmed arm with a different arm just so they'd make better arms.

Brickshelf is currently on-fire too, I believe.

Woah, that's an unarmed Pog? Those bastards are getting more technologically superior everyday, just look at this one - unarmed, ye it has shiny metal appendages welded into its body! It's a Cyber-Pog! Whatever next? They'll have tank tracks for legs soon, you mark my words!

 I was sure I'd taken a picture of all the varieties of Pogs at the beginning, but then I looked in my folders and there weren't any, and it was too dark to take some. So I went with this for now to keep an already slow quest moving and figured I'd update them when the battle started.

There you go, Pie, the long-awaited reasoning behind Arthur's siding with Chaos.

To be honest I don't really understand what Arthur is saying. That anarchy is the way to go because...? :sceptic:

"Chaos" isn't the same as "anarchy". At its core, the Chaotic alignment is about self-reliance and personal freedom. Instead of relying on Orderly institutions and governments, the Chaotic user focuses on using their free will and personal intellect to solve their problems. They despise institutions that try to control what people think and do (like all organized institutions do to some extent).

Robin Hood is the best-known popular example of a non-villainous Chaotic outlook. Robin Hood espouses reliance on the individual and your own personal friends, in opposition to Prince John and the Sheriff of Nottington, who control the populace through a combination of bullying and over-taxation. Two even better examples of Chaotic Good and Lawful (Orderly) Evil characters are Elan (Chaotic good) and General Tarquin (Lawful Evil) from Order of the Stick.

Arthur's plan was to release Chaos--in controllable, reasonable amounts (he underestimated Wren) so that, when the time came and Eubric faced destruction, the people would have adapted to a life of Chaos and thus been able to fend for themselves/survive anything.

Its inevitable, if we're used to it, it won't be as bad.

...or we could just go with the simple, TL;DR form.

So, as far as page count is concerned, I just realized that "The Hook on the Other Hand" is the third longest quest to date after "Chaos in Eubric" and, of course, "Death's Homecoming."

I had no idea that we had made so many posts. :oh:

Good quote about Lawful/Orderly characters:

"Lawful types do have a tendency to try to make everyone else think the same way they do--or else."

He's assuming it'll be destroyed on a bunch of religious literature and demonic grimoires that I can't recall him ever having even read. That's fine, but when he tries to take matters into his own hands and threaten an entire city to try and save it from a threat nobody even knows is coming, he comes off as looking completely insane.

'Let's light a bunch of small fires so that we'll be used to it when we're all consumed in a burning inferno.' That's not how Heroica operates, their job is to keep it from happening in the first place.

I think one of the things that this game best highlights is that events are permanent and people's opinions of you are cemented on only how you've presented yourself to them, and WHEN they met you, and what they've seen you do since then. Its funny how opinion and friendship and hatred are all based in sort of randomness.

Hey, Arthur isn't the brightest guy around, we have established that already, it's perfectly logical for HIM, in character.

He's plenty smart, just often very illogical when it comes to trying to save stuff. You can't save a city by destroying it over time, you can't do it by trying a depose a god of chaos, and you certainly can't do it by worshiping a goddess that fully admits she want to sow all the chaos she can.
