JimBee Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 I know its annoying to bump an already finished quest, but I like to publish side-quests a little after the fact, and so much of this quest happened there that I feel that I really should let them be known! They have to come in parts - too many quotes in one post and the server wigs out... and too many posts right next to each other and they all merge, but they'll all be up within a few hours. Damn you Hybros, sneaky git. Oh, did you not know why Felix was so angry with him up until now? I forgot he lied to you. Indeed. Well the secret's out, but remember character vs. player knowledge. Yes, Hybros lied, but Guts doesn't know that. (Although I've hinted a few times in the quest and Hall). Fortunately this wasn't a game-changing addition and I didn't "sabotage" the quest like Scuba suspected in PM (albeit for a different situation in the same quest). On another note, I'll have to read your post in the Training Room fully, Pie, but damn, Atramor got really powerful really fast. Although you can't Mirror Special or Mass Illusion anymore, you have an incredible SP stat for an original Rogue class. Plus the Pheles Rod, which pretty much makes Regulator Atramor a Warden with Tesni-esque strength and then some (with the class abilities). I anticipated some of this through our PM discussion a while ago but still, very nice evolution and minmax. /drool Now if there was an Expert Class that made Hybros as powerful as he is now... Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 How is Thothwick to mindlessly hate Atramor now? Quote
CMP Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 How is Thothwick to mindlessly hate Atramor now? Because now Atramor will always mindlessly hate Thothwick. Come on, coming up with a reason to hate Atramor can't be that hard. On another note, I'll have to read your post in the Training Room fully, Pie, but damn, Atramor got really powerful really fast. I'm really glad I was able to change classes before Strivvi II. Now I get to test it out with Scuba's awesome battle descriptions, plus Atramor can make up for his crappy diplomacy in the original. Now if there was an Expert Class that made Hybros as powerful as he is now... I don't think there ever will be. He's a complete killing machine at this point. Then again, if you get the SOAH's WP high enough....you might get more out of becoming a direct offense class like Infiltrator or Marauder. Quote

Lots of Gold and lots of Nostrums and permanently Hastened and 1/3 chance of assassination and weapon that grows more powerful with every kill. Quote

Well yes, but healing was never the focus of Witch Atramor, or really any Witch for that matter. Just the abilities to (badly) poison, hex, and mirror, and now with the buff to gain gold, make it an extremely attractive class. Healing is just an added bonus. I think the only other class that is equally or more proficient at debuffing would be Harlot. I don't think there ever will be. He's a complete killing machine at this point. I have considered Infiltrator, but nothing beats OHKOs, even if enemies are immune sometimes. It's just a little disappointing in some sense that I've minmaxed so specifically to prevent any other class advancement to actually be worse stat-wise. Quote

Assassin is a class that can remain very powerful. I'm sticking with an Advanced Class until Level 50 myself. Quote
Flipz Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 (edited) Pie, Zeph handled the Orderly-Chaotic thing by listing it like an immunity after the class name (so Level 30 Regulator *Orderly* ) in Q53. Trying...not...to die...from Docken's roleplaying. Edited September 17, 2013 by Flipz Quote
CMP Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Pie, Zeph handled the Orderly-Chaotic thing by listing it like an immunity after the class name (so Level 30 Regulator *Orderly* ) in Q53. I know, but I've got so much crap there anyway I figure it'd be easier to do it this way than have a QM sift through all my immunities. Why do I get the idea the oft-wasted former pirate rogue is the only person in the hall right now with a friggin' conscience? Docken's roleplaying. Oxymoron. Quote
JimBee Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Assassin is a class that can remain very powerful. I'm sticking with an Advanced Class until Level 50 myself. Indeed. But still, everyone needs some excitement with class changes. On another note, this business in the Hall... if I can make a comment about my own roleplaying here, I've always narrated Hybros' actions and thoughts through a third-person omniscient viewpoint, though not always presented as his own thoughts. I've always considered this kind of lame because it's a role-playing game, as in, I'm supposed to show his thoughts through his visible physical actions and his words. But that's really hard to do with such an introverted character and doing anything else, such as sharing a somewhat philosophical debate in the Hall now, feels out of character. Just thought I'd throw that out there. Anyone else feel this way about their character? CorneliusMurdock does a nice compromise with Cronk, making all of his posts dialog. Quote

Flipz Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 It's a shame the convo in 77 ended before Arthur could give his speech on Balance...had a nice quote from a great book in it. Maybe we'll get back to it at some point. I almost had a setup for myself that would have allowed me to take on Guts in the Arena, but things changed, unfortunately. Still SUPER excited for my Expert Class setups, though--Doc and Swils can attest to how completely broken it is. Docken, stop! You're making the fourth wall cry! I vote that we all band together to rename Docken "Deadpool". Quote

Endgame Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Docken is far from a womanizer drunkard who does nothing but kill each and every person who comes across while conversing with his screwball personalities. I love how desperately I am waiting for my Expert Class, and that I can't use any of my stuff for it. Are there any significantly powerful magic items for a Necromancer anyone would be able to do a straight trade for? Quote
