CMP Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 On another note, this business in the Hall... if I can make a comment about my own roleplaying here, I've always narrated Hybros' actions and thoughts through a third-person omniscient viewpoint, though not always presented as his own thoughts. I've always considered this kind of lame because it's a role-playing game, as in, I'm supposed to show his thoughts through his visible physical actions and his words. But that's really hard to do with such an introverted character and doing anything else, such as sharing a somewhat philosophical debate in the Hall now, feels out of character. Just thought I'd throw that out there. Anyone else feel this way about their character? CorneliusMurdock does a nice compromise with Cronk, making all of his posts dialog. I did that a lot earlier on with Atramor. Now I just have him voice them out loud, half the time just because it's pretty funny. I don't think it's lame at all, it fits better with Hybros. Quote
JimBee Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Docken is far from a womanizer drunkard who does nothing but kill each and every person who comes across while conversing with his screwball personalities. I personally like the choice of Guts and several other heroes to simply consider Docken, as a character, insane. Quote
Kintobor Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 (edited) Docken is far from a womanizer drunkard who does nothing but kill each and every person who comes across while conversing with his screwball personalities. I love how desperately I am waiting for my Expert Class, and that I can't use any of my stuff for it. Are there any significantly powerful magic items for a Necromancer anyone would be able to do a straight trade for? Catsuit? You'll want ether boosting items, as well as the spellbound gloves for sure. You'll also want something to stave of sealed. There's a start, fill in the blanks. Brickdoctor Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 It's next to the third and behind the fifth. (We don't talk about the fifth.) What if the room is shaped like a pentagon? "[...]vitamins, meats, vegetables, or minerals in the alcohol[...]" I'm curious to see how many will get the reference. Quote
CMP Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 What if the room is shaped like a pentagon? That's unlikely. My buildings almost never have more than two walls, how else would I snap a picture of it? Quote

CMP Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 It's not as bad as it sounds. Just can't go totally overboard with effects like I did in 51. Kinda miss that lens flare. Quote

Brickdoctor Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Docken wins. Do I get a stat boost? Quote
Duvors Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Do I get a stat boost? Just what you would expect from a guy who avoids roleplay for the purpose of roleplay. I personally like the choice of Guts and several other heroes to simply consider Docken, as a character, insane. By the way, has anyone ever contemplated an item that gives stat boosts only to people with well fleshed-out backstories? Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 By the way, has anyone ever contemplated an item that gives stat boosts only to people with well fleshed-out backstories? At one point the Illusionist expert class suggestion used power bonuses dependent upon how well the player role-played their spells but the idea was nixed for it being too open to QM discernment. I think the same could be said of such an item unless the backstory is required to be X number of words long to qualify. Quote
Kintobor Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 By the way, has anyone ever contemplated an item that gives stat boosts only to people with well fleshed-out backstories? That would never work as an item. It takes only two seconds for someone to claim they have a fleshed backstory and bam, the item's there's. as well, one could claim they've met the requirement, and never mentioned until this point. "Oh yeah, I got a real nasty burn scar underneath my thigh, which I nor no one has mentioned up until this point, so I can have that item now." It just doesn't work. That and players like BrickDoctor who are here for the stats and battles get the shaft with that kind of item, since role playing isn't there thing. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 I'm really rolling it out with all the Mass Effect references over the last few days. Shame there's only one person to get them. HEY, if you like awesome (and got time), go play through the Mass Effect games. Quote

Pyrovisionary Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 (edited) I just got a gaming mouse so I may well do that If they're on steam. And for the sake of relevance I've made two Terry prattchet Quotes and one Les Mis over the past day. Edited September 17, 2013 by Pyrovisionary Quote

Zepher Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 (edited) Indeed. But still, everyone needs some excitement with class changes. I have always tried this with Boomingham. It makes roleplaying harder now that he's a little more introverted after 70, but I think its worth the challenge. Edited September 17, 2013 by Zepher Quote
