Quest 82's super short. Maybe a month.

So... Anyone got a dual strike weapon for sale?

If you're willing to trade some of that Mythril, I've got a good one.

Also, the QM has failed to explain what the Plagued-effect does, exactly, so using this item is up to the holder's responsibility.

"Plagued" originated in 48: 15 Hp and -1 SP per round.

TO CURRENT HEROICA ARENA PARTICIPANTS: I think that Karie's health is incorrect and is indeed lower than it should. I can't do the calculations easily since I'm using a cellphone right now but someone should really check. It may be too easy a victory for Sarge

It's those blasted scissors and his pegleg of hastening. He also downed a nostrum. Why he did I have no clue, but really, he's just buffed himself to a point where there's nothing I can do but pray the catsuit dodges his attacks.

You are correct, Karie's health should be 30, I've made the changes and will run the next round in an hours or so.

I think the bonus is 8, not 7.

Yes, you are.

Shush.

Wait... so a hastened hero wielding a dual strike weapon can potentially hit a foe four times? :oh:

I'm definitely hanging onto these sceptres.

That is literally what I said when I found out. :sweet: I'm surprised. I've been doing that since #42 and you haven't noticed?

I hadn't really thought about it... I'd only assumed that one could hit two enemies two times each - to be honest I'd forgotten that it is possible to double-target an enemy with a dual-strike weapon until you brought it up recently. Therefore, dual-striking is basically a built-in hastened effect just for that weapon?

Pretty exciting, I know what I'll be upgrading soon. :sweet:

You don't choose the dual-strike target, it's the next enemy in order.

That's the way it used to be done, but it's not like that anymore. :sceptic:

I suddenly have the idea to have a party go back in time, and due to the time travel, are forced to use older rules before we started revising the game.

AFAIK, it's still supposed to be that way. Yes, dual-striking the same target is specifically allowed, but the target of the secondary strike is still determined by the enemy battle order, not by the player attacking.

Starting with the third Quest in line and continuing to the finale, several of my Quests will feature playable flashbacks. At least two of these are set in pre-CAT days, and I'm already working on tweaking the CAT ability system for those specific Quests (for example, Venoms are all applied directly to an enemy, rather than being used on weapons, Hide and Meditate become attack options instead of Miss rolls, etc.).

Why don't you start with the first quest, before making big plans for the third and up, Flipz?

SCUBA I HAVE NO INFO FOR THIS QUEST... now might be the time to get it in since we're going back, you're not on a quest, and CAT ended.

You make it seem like I have nothing better to do... Fine... I'll whip something up soon.

It's a process, I know - I just reread quests 38, 39 and 41 so I could properly write up the bios for all the characters. But now would probably be the best time for you, yes. Maybe it will remind you of something you want to work in to Strivvi II!! Who knows!

EDIT: While we're on the subject, Sandy and I have devised a way to keep my job a little simpler. There will be, firstly, no links in the first post for two reasons: 1) it is VERY HARD to do for each post and 2) I was afraid that I was getting too close to the "too much code" limit, and I do NOT want to have to revive that post from the jumble it becomes if you happen to reach that limit. Secondly, again this is in part to make my job easier, only the post recent post with each NPC will have the most up to date information about that NPC. This will make updating a breeze for me, but will also offer you the ability to see an NPC's story a little without re-reading every quest that they're on. The most recent post will also, of course, have any and all information from previous posts.
