Flipz Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 That's the face, hair, and staff of the Gray Wizard, isn't it? *goes to check* EDIT: That's definitely him. Seriously, what the hell. Quote
CMP Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 Face and hair, but Gray had a beard and a more complex staff. Quote
Flipz Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 Face and hair, but Gray had a beard and a more complex staff. Reincarnated? He was one of the Old Gods, after all. Quote
CMP Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 Reincarnated? He was one of the Old Gods, after all. Which is more likely, that Zepher would pointlessly reincarnate one of his characters to take on a completely different identity and name, or that he used a similar fig combination for an old man? Zepher, he who kills beloved NPCs for sport. Quote
Duvors Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 Bah, don't be ridiculous. Dyric Rone was KO'd in his fifth battle! I've only been in three. Zepher, he who kills beloved NPCs for sport. Zepher must die! Quote
joeshmoe554 Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 I've only been in three. Em was KO'd in his second battle, Jeaux was KO'd in his third. Though to be fair that was an Endgame quest, so someone had to die. Quote

Kadabra Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 OoC: You're lucky, but only if you remember to make a (passable) pun every time you attack. It was actually doubled power for the puns, not lucky (at least when it was first used). And it was originally supposed to be only suitable to Arasmyth, because the pun is based on my spell archetype and the fact that Arasmyth has a penchant for puns. I think I'm getting Scubacarrot Syndrome now that the only item that was designed specifically for my character is being passed out in bars. Quote
Endgame Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 Someone also had to be hexed. No one was hexed in 36 or 46, to my credit. (Or 70, shcokingly. ) Quote

Kadabra Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 (edited) It wasn't suitable for Arasmyth only, but it was originally meant as a Mead more than a Nostrum. You're right - Flipz suggested 'suitable for Arasmyth' but it was never mentioned in the actual item description. I still would've liked it to remain unique, but whatever. Edited October 3, 2013 by Kadabra Quote
Zepher Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 (edited) It would be a little silly to have a consumable that only he can drink. I'm going with lucky and puns for everyone - maybe its a different brew. And that isn't the Gray Wizard. I only have so many "angry old dude" heads, and Guffington is already using the other one. What, you thought the Gray Wizard would come back without his signature gray hair and beard combo?! No way! Besides, he isn't likely to join the religion of Ennoc considering that he'd have to forsake his other religion... and he's one of the cardinal gods of his other religion. EDIT: I do apologize for the confusion, though. In retrospect I should have chosen another head - sometimes I toss bits still together into the parts bin and forget I already used them in conjuncture - its the same reason that one of the witches from 68 reuses Blackenord's head/torso combo. What, you thought the Gray Wizard would come back without his signature gray hair and beard combo?! No way! But the pun is literally based on his spells. It seems silly that a melee class or something could get pun powers based on a drink that contains a pun about wind magic. I love the effect, and don't mind that being more common (I'd encourage it - I love the effect!) But considering the consumable is a character-specific pun, I think there should have been something else that gives the effect under other circumstance. Or maybe not have it be a standardized consumable, but grant it whenever a character orders a drink at a bar whose name is a pun that has to do something with that character. But again, it doesn't really matter. Quote
Zepher Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 (edited) And where the Hel has Poletad been all this time?!? We spent like six Phoenix Essences on that guy, so he'd better have some more health to show for it next time he shows up. On a related note, since I will not be traveling abroad this spring like I originally thought... and you guys know I love dropping hints... Poletad will be back soon, along with many more (hopefully) still beloved and not too dead NPCs from Wren's days... and they may be meeting some of the newer Zepher quest faces as well. I've purposely tried to keep them apart so that Wren wasn't mentioned all too much (Everyman's appearance in 68 was actually an accident as I reused my most common face for an actor and then realized it was him...), but Guffington III and Russel III will be blurring the lines as we gear up to the finale! The Legonater Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 I still really, really want to get on Guffington III if at all possible. Quote
Zepher Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 I believe Russel III is actually going to roll around first (and I'm VERY excited for it - almost done scripting, taking many cues from CMP, WBD and Kint quests), but Guffington III looks to be a relatively decent sized party (6-8) so there should be some good spots for some good heroes. CMP Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 I'd expect him to come back with white hair and robes, but maybe that's just me. 'Darkness took me, and I strayed out of thought and time. Stars wheeled overhead, and every day was long as a life age of the earth. But it was not the end. I felt life in me again. I have been sent back, until my task is done.' Quote

Duvors Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 All crabs talk. So does Pretzel, but he's not...oh nevermind. Quote
Palathadric Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 Phew, Quest 85 looks really great for me, but I'm sure I'll miss the Marketplace one if I go on it. Quote
Flare Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 Phew, Quest 85 looks really great for me, but I'm sure I'll miss the Marketplace one if I go on it. Yeah, I was going to sign up for Quest 85 but I really didn't want to miss the Marketplace quest... so I didn't sign up for Quest 85 Quote
LordoftheNoobs Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 I'm confused - when exactly is this Marketplace Quest? It's the one you have to go on to be able to become an Artisan, right? Will I miss it if I don't wait for it? Will we get another chance to become an Artisan later? I just really think it's a good job class choice for my character. Quote
