I strongly dislike the idea of being able to opt out of reputation. Just tossing it out there.

Generally I do too, but I let Thalion do so in the case of the Guild because it was only due to one player's actions they even got the opportunity in the first place, and for the Ji Pei, well, there's a middleman involved, so I don't see why not. It's not a do-or-die situation like with the Bonapartes in Quest 44.

I'm sorry, I should amend that. When the chance is OFFERED to the party to receive rep, then of course the option should be there (Ji Pei in this case) but the Guild should not have been able to be opted out of. I think this allows for more complex moral decisions - do you aid the person in front of you, or the house that you wish to support? Otherwise there's no point to that whole "if you gain rep with one house, you lose it with the other" clause, because that case would never come up.

I understand it here, and wasn't seeking to criticize you or Obelix, but I'm warning that I generally wouldn't allow it myself.

That's my point. The opportunity appeared when Maurice opened conversation with Rian, not the whole party, and unless Obelix wanted to attack him in the middle of the battle they were protecting him in, the party was getting the reputation. It's not so much a complex moral decision as it is 'is Thalion willing to kill this guy to prevent getting reputation with his friends', and the answer is obviously no, but I wanted to give him a choice nontheless.

It's funny how Pretzel now has reputation with three houses/factions that I would never have considered giving him reputation for. I mean, seriously, the Guild of Invision is full of vampires, Count Shadeaux may as well be a vampire and the Shadeaux are pretty sinister and bat-like in general  , and then he got reputation with the Wolfgang of all things. :wall:

The only houses I would have thought to give him reputation for would have been the Bonapartes, the Town Watch, and, possibly, the Hinckwells, but it's awesome the way it is. I wasn't too thrilled about it at first, but I actually think it's pretty awesome that Pretzel got Wolfgang reputation in this last quest against his and my wishes.

And that is the point, when the chance is offered, there should be a yes or no option, like the Ziegfrieds on #44, but also there should be the same option BEFORE the battle in which a potential result is an increased rep with a house (again like in #44, when, if I am not mistaken, Deekra opted out before fighting for the Bonapartes), do you want to help him/her/them and gain a reputation with a house, not after the battle. After the battle in which you helped someone (expecting nothing in return), who then says "Thanks for helping me, I'll mention you to our house", I see it only normal to have a possible answer - "No problem for helping you, but dont mention me." because the hero didn't know he would increase the reputation by helping someone; he simply protected a stranger out of the goodness of his heart, common sense, duty, honor or something else.

Of course, this should not be the case in a quest where reputation with the house is part of a quest reward, then you volonteraly sign up for it and should not have any option to finish the quest normally without the rep.

Have you decided on an advanced class?

+1!

What have you got planned for Amma, Psy? Or is it a surprise? :classic:

Yes, I have. You might guess from her equipment already, I tried to optimize it for her AC. But orginally I was torn between two other classes, so I don't know for how long it will be.

I just realized that I already have most of the parts. Even the parts for the three main weapons, Wand of Poking, Geofon and Wishing Wand!

So, she's got the rep, does Tesni go Chi Monk? I just wonder as I did spend some planning on equipment over all else.

Well first off she should equip some more artifacts, she's only wearing two at the moment. Then you've got to either tear into your weapons or deal with having only a Ruby (though Obelix might be willing to sell some of his gems seeing as how he doesn't need them anymore). Elphaba comes soon so you could probably get any more you need from her, then buy some scrolls to either use or imbue for immunities to them. She has the resources to make a decent Chi Monk right now, at least until you get a class with access to weapons again, when you could (re)imbue all your stuff again.

UsernameMDM, I would imagine your Cultist hat would go for the same price as the Pseudos Hood was sold for, which was 75, but I guess it may not be because it's not actually one of Fabian's items. :look:

Darn! Hybros is going to go and live with the gnomes. No fair, CMP! :sing:

Probably so. That was my 1st artifact, and is really quite useful. Allows an unimbued weapon to damage Ethereal and Undead.

After all you've done to power-up your weapons - I'd say no.

You must be less than this tall to live in Zylstra.

10000 posts, and over half in this forum.:laugh:

So, I finally managed to do the Training Room post. I was a bit nervous about this (just like Amma), but I hope one can understand everything.

If I made any mistakes regarding the statistics, or if the pictures don't show up (there are just 4), or if I did something wrong with the Roleplaying (e.g. using CopperFox like this): Please let me know.

"What are four gentlemen such as yourself, doing out in the woods, with a large, heavy chest, at a time like this? People might think you're... up to something."

I'm not the only one who read this in Snape's voice, right?

Let's at least take on Stitches over there. You look at that thing's face and tell me it wants a better Eubric."

Has Atramor seen Heroica's racial make up? Speaking of which, what race is the scare-crow man supposed to be, Sandy?
