Dannylonglegs Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Special two completely invalidates anything that had happened by that point. True, I'll change it to Nurture. Sandy Posted October 13, 2013 Author Posted October 13, 2013 Naïve Druid Type: Holier Than Thou Level: 23 Health: 390/390 Ether: 3/3 Special I: "I Only Want What's Best For Everyone" - Heals the entire allied party and removes all negative effects from them all at the cost of 1 ether. Special II: "Where's my Elpis?!" - Becomes enraged and attacks the target for 46 damage and stuns them. Drops: Phoenix Essence Note: Specials alternate. Naïve Druid fights from the back row. "You don't vote for a king!" Well, there isn't going to be a ballot voting or anything like that, but Ulric kinda needs the support of the people to become a king in a city that doesn't have one, right? Quote

Sandy Posted October 13, 2013 Author Posted October 13, 2013 Medieval history tends to disagree with you. An army = I do what I like. Again, armies don't come out of nowhere - as much as fantasy movies and videogames like to tell you otherwise. ... Unless you're a necromancer, that is. Quote
Scorpiox Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Again, armies don't come out of nowhere - as much as fantasy movies and videogames like to tell you otherwise. Again, that is not my point. Use the winky face all you like - the Middle Ages have proven that population support is not always necessary for control of a peasant population. Take the English Wars of the Roses, for instance: everyone changed sides and stole the crown so many damn times over a short period that no-one actually cared what the people thought. Okay, scratch that, 70% of Medieval monarchs across Europe did not care what people thought of them. You can't patronise me for an argument that I didn't actually make. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 I think Sandy's hinting that Ulric has a secret underground training facility they funnel recruits from the hovels into. Since Eubric doesn't have an army, the way to get them is to convince people to join them in an army. Quote
Scorpiox Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Haldor Skovgaard *Immune to Stunned, Fragile and Blinded effects* Level 60 Humanoid Health: 450/450 Ether: 10/10 Defence: 7 Special I: I need another drink! - Haldor gives himself the either the encouraged, hastened or blessed effect, decided by dice roll. Special II: Bloody hell, that hurt! - Haldor heals himself equal to his level at the cost of one ether and fights in the back row for the remainder of the round. Special II: Take this, you sick git! - Haldor viciously kicks the foe for damage equal to 1/10th of his current health, this attack pierces SP and ignores row. Passive Special: Ladies' man - At the start of the battle, all female heroes have a 1/3 chance of becoming Enamoured with Haldor's dashing manly looks. Drops: Zoot er Isen (WP:15, Axe, Light and Ice elemental), Second-hand V-Card (I wouldn't touch this, if I were you). Note: - Haldor will use specials decided by dice-roll, although Special I will not be used if he already has a positive effect, and Special II relies on the presence of ether. Note: - Zoot er Isen is not suitable for anyone other than Haldor, one might be able to pillage the gems and sell it for scrap, though. Quote

But still, the situation in Eubric cannot be compared to that. There is no established throne in Eubric, no actual nobility (apart from the nobles from other nations that have moved to the city), just a chaotic and erratic hierarchy. Ulric - and anyone else who would want to stabilize the situation - must first become popular to break the status quo. Sure, a foreign army could march into the city and take it over, and the commoners would have to pretty much deal with it, but I've made it pretty clear that Eubric and Uland are nigh impossible to conquer from the outside due to geographical and historical reasons. And again, this is a fantasy setting. Not medieval Europe. Quote

Palathadric Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Also, sorry everyone for not being around, I'm still CRAZY sick and barely coherent. Sorry about that. Get well soon. "They range from 5-20 men per attack on each side. They usually bring just ladders because it is quick and silent. Anything else is too slow and we would have proper warning." I guess the barbarians learned that fighting the Romans with massive armies didn't work in the age of Caesar, so now they're trying new tactics. It's nice. It shows two things. That they've been reading their history and that they learned something from it. Quote
