Zepher Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 For newer readers, take a look at Dastan to both explain the process and pique your interest. We will enforce the same rules here... which is that we strongly advise against reading the two quests you are not on, though we have no way to enforce it. Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Just let me know when the Norse quests come up, okay? When I can be bothered to build the sets. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 It should be. It's really a short, fun quest. But one never knows how active the chosen players are... Great! Just what I am looking forward too, if Hoke gets picked. Which he should. Just because. Quote
Duvors Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 I thought that's what Atramor was for? No, Guts is, I think. Quote
Scorpiox Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 No, Guts is, I think. I think that Brickdoctor is referring to the wonderful time when Atramor team-killed everybody. Quote
Duvors Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 (edited) I think that Brickdoctor is referring to the wonderful time when Atramor team-killed everybody. Remember 'Guts kills everyone, the end.'? When I can be bothered to build the sets. Knowing your building skills I'm certain they'll be fantastic. Edited November 6, 2013 by Lord Duvors Quote
Palathadric Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 I'm excited to introduce the Baltarok Trilogy, three quests hosted by an expert trio of QMs Zepher, CallMePie & WaterBrick Down! The sign-ups are now open at the Heroica Hall, and will close on the 1st of December, so there's plenty of time to get involved in them. I'm damn sure Ellaria will try to get into one of the quests, at least! They look awesome! But Marketplace quest is always coming first and foremost. Pretzel already has Wolfgang reputation. All he needs now is to receive the title of Orc-kin. I'm in love! I hate you. These enemies have to have the highest combined level any party has faced up until now. ...Besides Jebediah's Level 9999 volcano...or was that just the HP? I think I need to re-read that quest. In the future, please ask these type of questions at the Rules & FAQ topic, thanks! My apologies. Quote
Kintobor Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Oi! I've got an upcoming quest, too! Ji Pei reputation, anyone? We probably won't be back for the Baltarok quests, but I guarantee you it will be a good time, and some good loot will be dispersed! Quote

Palathadric Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Byblos (NPC, controlled by Quarryman) 28 years old male Metasimian Scholar Level 30 *Well-read* *Fast Learner* *Immune to Fire, Earth & Wind* *Knocked Out* Health: 0/40 (10+29+1) Forgot to revive Byblos. I'd go, but I don't really see Heckz as a Chi Monk. Quote

I would like to go onto your quest, I wouldn't mind Ji Pei rep since I have none. I think Purpearl is geared more towards Ziegfrieds or Shadeaux rep too. Kintobor Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 There is no Town Watch rep. The creator of the Infiltrator class has never hosted a quest with the class available. Besides, at this point, rep isn't your biggest priority. Figuring out which niche you want to Baradock to fit in should be. Do you want to be offensive, defensive, or support? Then again, you're a barbarian, so it's most likely going to be offensive, but still! Quote

On that note, I'd really like to see other QMs host quests with the opportunity to gain access to non-House Expert Classes. I know that I won't be hosting a Rito quest any time soon, but Winged Warrior shouldn't be incredibly rare to get because of it. There wouldn't even have to be Rito involved in getting it, actually, because there are other flying creatures (dragons, wereravens... mechanical wings or airships could even pass). Quote

Well I had a whole story arch planned out, eventually landing Baradock as an Alchemist. (But it would still work as a Dragoon I guess.) But Inflitrator honestly seems the coolest. It may change as I continue playing, y'never know. Quote

One problem, and I ran into it first hand: Scuba doesn't want other QM's handing out Infiltrator. I don't know who created Winged Warrior, so that's a whole different can of worms. Not complaining, Scuba, it's just... sort of sitting there, collecting dust at this point. Kind of sad, really, because it's a cool class. It may change as I continue playing, y'never know. Planned characters arcs never work in this game. Trust me, I tried. Where Karie is now and where I thought she'd be are two entirely different things. For one, she's Violetta's sister, two she's dating a man who's nephew kidnapped and almost raped her, and three, she's the great x9 daughter to an undead assassin. Not where she was supposed to, but a lot cooler in my mind! Characters evolve and grow. The backstory should help in creating a character, but never rely to heavily on it. It's something that should be bendable and changeable yet concrete enough that when the time comes to start spreading the trail down memory lane, it's concrete enough you know what happened. Quote

Kind of sad, really, because it's a cool class. Same thing goes with Doc for Skirmisher, which is a shame because an army of Skirmishers together would be pretty awesome (especially if we could get together a full party). (Mayhaps there's hope for a Skirmisher-awarding Quest from you in the future? Particularly if Galen signs up? ) Though I'm glad to hear about Winged Warrior, JimB. (He's the one who created the class, Kinto. ) I'll keep that in mind for the future, and I might try to throw in a Winged Warrior NPC or two into my Quests as well, just for fun. That's not how I remember it. Quest 38, not 53. Cronk, Alexis and Haldor get to say they killed two gods, though. Edited November 7, 2013 by Flipz Quote

(Mayhaps there's hope for a Skirmisher-awarding Quest from you in the future? Particularly if Galen signs up? ) Skirmisher-awarding quest probably won't happen until the summer. I don't want anyone else awarding it because I'm not done working on the Lion NPCs who would be sufficiently high enough in rank to award it. Plus we had three long Lion Knight quests already, so I've taken a break from that storyline. Quote
Zepher Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Really looking forward to these. If I go on one, It'll be interesting to see things from the other side of the game. That's what I was hoping... but no one else seemed prepared to suggest a three-pronged quest, and we had such fun last time... and then somehow I got roped into my own suggestion. And now of course I'm very excited. On that note, I'd really like to see other QMs host quests with the opportunity to gain access to non-House Expert Classes. When I finally host Guffington III (it's coming!) I have the potential to throw in Winged Warrior along the way. Quote
