Duvors Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Not strictly, no. After 81 and 86, I have one more quest (titled "Six (Thousand) Feet Under") Jules Verne! Quote
Endgame Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 (edited) It's more of a reference to "Six Feet Under", the depth coffins were (supposedly) buried back in the day. Except the heroes in that quest are going a smidge... Deeper. Edited November 7, 2013 by Endgame Quote
Kintobor Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 It's moe of a reference to "Six Feet Under", the depth coffins were (supposedly) buried back in the day. Except the heroes in that quest are going a smidge... Deeper. How is death "moe"? "Endgame-chan, you just killed another one of your NPCs!" I just can't help it, Kintobor-san! Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 I will be splitting the party up sometimes. My plans on having the quest go faster are: -Split them up sometimes -Have everyone appoint a surrogate (as in, can control their own character in battle if they find themselves unable.) -For less signifigant battles, go by a 12/16 hour rule instead of a 24 hour one. -Appoint 2 party Leaders instead of one -Don't drop nearly as many Smeling Salts. (Juggling 28 actions would be downright painful.) Or you could have enemies that give the slowed effect if people still have smelling salts. Quote
Endgame Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 How is death "moe"? My co-ordination has gone straight down the toilet, apparently. Or you could have enemies that give the slowed effect if people still have smelling salts. It is definitely going to be more towards the ten end of things instead of fourteen, so I probably won't have to be too excessive in that aspect. Quote
Pandora Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 "Hello, Mr. Rone! Byblos go off on his Quest. Witch and Ranger Docken go with him, and two magic ladies also, one with red fur, the other black." Hey Flitwick, I distinctly remember Nyx meeting Hoptet. Does she count as the one with red fur or black (given that it's both)? Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Hey Flitwick, I distinctly remember Nyx meeting Hoptet. Does she count as the one with red fur or black (given that it's both)? Whoops! Thanks for reminding me, I really need a separate sheet for who Hoptet's met. And Hoptet is referring to Nyx when he says the one with 'black 'fur'. As Metasimians don't so much have hair as they do fur, I can't imagine Thothwick would've taught the word hair to Hoptet, so Hoptet has views the word 'fur' as a generic Humanish term for hair/fur/manes/etc. Quote
Duvors Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Endgame, crabs don't go to lines, if someone goes fishing for crabs they use cages. And even if crabs did go to lines their claws would cut right through them so, . Quote
Kintobor Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Who's to say the cages weren't already in place. Quote
Endgame Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 I could've sworn I've seen someone catch cray with a line, but maybe my memory is faulty. Either way, maybe Augustus was just killing time. Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Nah. Endgame. Even splitting the party wont help. It may be even worse. (You have to worry about managing 2 quests in theory and you have to devote equal time to each otherwise one will fall behind.) 5 is a magical number. Quote
Zepher Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 (edited) "Three, if ya' count Airman," Atramor flipped off the sun in a useless gesture of defiance, then wiped off his forehead. One of the rare times I can say I actually laughed out loud. Oh how I love Atramor. Strivvi II... that's gonna be a good time. And while I know you want to go with the original party, Scuba, if Ellaria is in Baltarok and Rufus doesn't rejoin us (though I hope he does!!!!) - Nerwen and Hybros would be lovely people to quest with again. His dialog writes itself when he's alone. He generally doesn't think things through much in the company of others, even less so when that company is made up of demonic inanimate objects. Depending on how long Quest 85 is, Baltarok could be over/mostly done by then. Something tells me we're gonna be wandering around the desert for a while. Quote
swils Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 @Flare, you should give me a few days to get back to Fairbanks (9th/10th'll be fine) so that I can actually pull up Arx's dice rolls. I'm pretty sure he was a bit on the showboaty-yet-introverted side, so I need to check that before I start trying to pull him into any RP sessions. Quote
Palathadric Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Sandy, what time, on the 10th are the sign-ups closing for the Marketplace quest? Quote
Sandy Posted November 8, 2013 Author Posted November 8, 2013 Sandy, what time, on the 10th are the sign-ups closing for the Marketplace quest? I'm not clairvoyant, but I'll end them as soon as I wake up on the 10th. Quote
Flipz Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 I'm not clairvoyant, but I'll end them as soon as I wake up on the 10th. I'm not gonna make it, am I? On an unrelated note, Sandy, I don't suppose you're a Maroon 5 fan, are you? Because if you are, kudos on a very, very subtle reference. (Also, why has no one noticed Catnip's name? I recognized it, and I haven't even seen the movies. ) Quote
Endgame Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 I thought it was one of the more obvious references in Heroica (Can't go 5 minutes without seeing a commercial for Catching Fire now) so I didn't point it out. I'm sad nobody figured out the recurring reference in 48. Quote
Palathadric Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 I'm not clairvoyant, but I'll end them as soon as I wake up on the 10th. Thank you. I just wanted to know if it would be in the morning or in the evening. That means we only have tomorrow, more or less to finish off those nasties. I have a feeling we won't defeat them on time. Quote

No, I'm not. But now I'm intrigued - what's the reference that's so subtle that I don't even know about it myself. XD Quote

Scorpiox Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Check the chorus: -snip- Me, the rock dinosaur, am pretty certain that Imagine Dragons is not the same thing as Maroon 5... Quote
Flipz Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Me, the rock dinosaur, am pretty certain that Imagine Dragons is not the same thing as Maroon 5... In my defense, when I first posted it, it was late and I was getting ready to listen to Payphone. Quote
