CMP Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Yeah, it was a neat and fitting special and all, but missing out on experience and having nothing to do for who knows how long isn't exactly fun. Quote

Endgame Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 (edited) Isn't there always the possibility they never stumble upon Atramor's tile? (The exact location was never made clear, correct?) Edited November 14, 2013 by Endgame Quote
CMP Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Isn't there always the possibility they never stumble upon Atramor's tile? (The exact location was never made clear, correct?) If they make it out of the desert I'll probably just get eaten by a stray demon and randomly appear in the ruins later on. But Namyrra's been there before, I doubt Nyx would leave him in the middle of the desert, and Docken knows the speed and ease of battles will increase with the number of participating heroes, so they'll go get him eventually. Endgame Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 The only issue is Canteens then, really, but they can be refilled by a Sapphire, so Quote

Apart from a hurt neck and a mild concussion, I'm fine. ~Insectoid Aristocrat I am so sorry to hear about your accident! I'm glad you (and apparently everyone else) are okay! If you still want to continue your quest, I can re-open it. It just wasn't going anywhere even before your disappearance... Quote

CMP Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Wow, how long is this Barbarian Battle now going on? A month. Quote
Flipz Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Battles in Heroica go on way too long these days. Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Has it really been a month? Sorry if it's a bore. But the heroes are almost done with the quest! If it's too long, the finally will be shortened. Quote
Palathadric Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 A month. Seriously, what's Xander been doing. Quote
Dragonfire Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 (edited) Hopefully 87 will finish within the week...I really want to get on a Baltarok quest... And besides- if you are on a quest during the Grogmas special, can you still take part in the special? Edited November 17, 2013 by Dragonfire Quote
CMP Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 And besides- if you are on a quest during the Grogmas special, can you still take part in the special? Probably, that's how special events have worked in the past. Quote
CMP Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 One might not need to actually bring a person back to life to use them in this fashion, but in that case, is this not exactly the same situation as using a machine? A machine's functions only act as mechanical replacement for thought and reaction, so if those things are not of use to a necromancer, neither is repairing a machine. No matter how you think of it, if the necromancer is actually bringing the minion back to life/reactivating the machine, the two require vastly different skills. Or if the necromancer is only using them as a puppet, which I think is how the class works in Heroica, using magic to control a machine is no more difficult than an organic counterpart. Machines need maintenance to perform even the most basic tasks like moving. It's not like reviving the dead where motor functions are pretty standard for the body. Using a machine like a puppet could theoretically work, but it's not in the realm of necromancy, so a necromancer shouldn't be able to perform it. Quote

To be clear: how does the necromancer class exactly work? Does it operate through acting as a puppeteer for dead things, or does it re-activate organisms and use them as minions? Quote

Doesn't. Matter. Sheesh... Quote
Endgame Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 I really hope you get well soon, Danny: I hope you have a good recovery! Thus is why combining logic with game mechanics usually leads downhill: People start questioning how things actually work in this bizarre, fantasy environment. Also, Sandy, is 87 all just an allegory for heroes going too far to min-max their character builds? Quote
