Duvors Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 How ironic. ["Look right, look right!!"] To the right, ever to the right, never to the left, ever to the right... Why does everyone need a companion character so suddenly? Everyone secretly wants to be a Dragoon. Quote

Duvors Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Animal companions are for the spineless. Said the Dragon food. Quote
Endgame Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Animal companions are for the spineless. Have Guts dancing shoes become his RP companion and I will give you everything I have. Quote
Sandy Posted November 24, 2013 Author Posted November 24, 2013 Animal companions are for the spineless. Maybe we should all just refrain from critizing each other's roleplaying decisions. Quote
Kintobor Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Animal companions are for the spineless. Baldness is for people without hair. I think I started a trend. Just because I have Hershey, doesn't mean everyone else needs too. It won't work out, don't do it unless it helps your character. Quote

Scorpiox Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Animal companions are for the spineless. I'm not quite sure that I disdain them that much... I think I started a trend. Just because I have Hershey, doesn't mean everyone else needs too. It won't work out, don't do it unless it helps your character. Exactly, writers should strive to make their characters unique, or at the very least distinctive. Quote
Endgame Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Hershey is totally on top of Elphaba's wagon right now, guys. I guess that is what she thought Karie meant by a warm place. Quote

Endgame Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 (edited) Couldn't help notice that they used the same piece, that's all. On the subject of animal companions: I'm ambivalent. Mostly any concept can be excellent or poor... It's all about execution, in my mind. Edited November 24, 2013 by Endgame Quote
Scubacarrot Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Don't take it too seriously, I'm just saying, animal companions are somewhat lazy. And by somewhat lazy I mean you have no spine. Quote
Pandora Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Animal companions are for the spineless. Unless they crawl out of a weapon once in a blue moon. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Unless they crawl out of a weapon once in a blue moon. I'm pretty sure arachnids don't have spines. Don't quote me on that. Quote

Flipz Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 "Always in the mood for a drink." Atramor walked past Namyrra, his annoyance with blundering around in the desert blindly for hours getting the better of him and causing him to slap Nizam in the back of the head. "Get the hell up." Best post of the week. Quote
Scorpiox Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Best post of the week. Atramor says it like it is. Quote
JimBee Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 If you have a pet/familiar/girl/boyfriend/split personality that's one thing, but if it ends up being a crutch for your roleplaying, you should probably reconsider. I don't mind them otherwise - Zepher, CallMePie, and Flitwick all play their companion roles exceptionally well, without letting it interfere with their quests. And they've all happened by happy chance or something similar, such as Thothwick meeting Hoptet or Boomingham becoming a Paladin. Atramor had the chicken from day one, but who knew it was demonic? Besides, they all have their own well-defined characters besides the companions, which I think is ideal. Best post of the week. Agreed. Quote
CMP Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Atramor had the chicken from day one, but who knew it was demonic? Not me. Quote
JimBee Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Not me. Exactly. Just roll with it! On another note, I love Heckz. A sarcastic, conceited pretty boy - it's a simple character, but sometimes you don't need a convoluted backstory to be awesome. Quote

I love it when a character is so completely unreasonable in such a perfect manner. He and Monk Pretzel define this category. Quote
Kintobor Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 I've been loving Heckz since day one. I hosted the guy twice, and he's probably one of my favourite PCs. I love you all equally, but Heckz is on a different level entirely. Quote
Zepher Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 It took me a while to notice him, but I have to agree. I commend his quietness about it too - he just does it. Quote
Cutcobra Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Thanks for the compliments on Heckz! I have a backstory for him, but I don't think I'll show it just yet. Quote
Duvors Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Thanks for the compliments on Heckz! I have a backstory for him, but I don't think I'll show it just yet. Well, His real name is John, he is half Leprechaun, one quarter Vampire, and a conceited vaporing idiot, I think that's enough to go on. Quote
