Rumble Strike Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 In Quest #8 it seemed that the bone only distracted for the next person's turn, not the whole party. I would imagine it's immunity from damage, although whether that's also immunity from specials I don't know. Quote

Ex: Order of Action Boomingham- Miss Nyx- Shield Barur- Damage Sylph- bone EVERYONE AFTER SYLPH WON'T TAKE DAMAGE. I think. Quote
Rumble Strike Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Right, but then using it at the start of a round would effectively be like a Knight's Sentinel effect? Quote
UsernameMDM Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 I think a bone distracts 1 monster, not the entire group. Quote
Rumble Strike Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 (edited) Indeed so, however in this instance the giant crocodile is just one monster, if a big one. Edited December 13, 2011 by Rumble Strike Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Fortunately for the readers of Quest 16 (and even the ones who aren't Tomas!) Tomas will never learn that being on the good side brings bad consequences. So I think he's pretty likely to get himself into trouble like that again. I had considered just hitting him with my shovel, but I decided against it. You should have tried the shovel. It was probably the best chance you had. Or running... If I'd been online when the fight started Cronk probably would have stepped in. Quote

If I'd been online when the fight started Cronk probably would have stepped in. Well, at least Tomas took one thing away from this fight. He learned that playing fair won't do you any good if your opponent is a non-cleric. From now on, he's going to be pulling as much as he can get away with. Using broken bottles as weapons, kicking the opponent in the kneecap, and of course, there will always be the shovel if need be. Quote
Zepher Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 It will be finished this week, if everyone posts on time. I'm sorry to keep you waiting. No problem Capt! I'm sorry I'm being a sour puss, the quest has been great, I just think that we're both in agreement that it had potential to be about a month shorter if we had all posted promptly. Nothing against you my friend. Quote
JimBee Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Just to let you all know, I will be ending Quest 18's sign ups a day early (well technically it will be the 15th in some time zones). I will be busy on Thursday, so I won't be around to close them. So anyone left who is still considering signing up, do so before then, thanks. Quote
K-Nut Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Maybe I should leave Finnegan behind to sign up! Quote

legobodgers Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Actually if the bone was thrown at the start of the round it would only protect the next person in the party order to target that enemy. Quote
Sandy Posted December 13, 2011 Author Posted December 13, 2011 Yes, the bone "stuns" the enemy for one turn, not for the whole round. It's not a very useful item, but it's not supposed to be, either. Quote

That's just because no one has presented an enemy that could be exploited by such an overlooked item! E.g. Turn 1: IMMA CHARGIN Turn 2: MAH LA---ooh a bone! Turn 3: IMMA CHARGIN etc. Quote

TheBoyWonder Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Hope you are all enjoying Leo's shift to the dark side Draken's Champion. It holds a secret that will be revealed later. Quote
Etzel Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Hope you are all enjoying Leo's shift to the dark side Draken's Champion. It holds a secret that will be revealed later. No, not really. It's fine that you want to develop your character but that should be a personal objective, not something that blocks action in progress in the real quest. Don't force your quest mates to assist you in your character development. If you necessarily need other people interact with your role playing, make sure they agree to that before you set plans in action. And yes, the shield is yours to keep. Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 (edited) Etzel, It was not necessary for my Party Members replies.I did not feel I 'forced' the other quest mates. In Quest 4, Dekra did his Character Development while we were waiting for progression in the quest. It added another element. And Cornelius said we should go to the Battlements. EDIT: If the Quest Mates want me to stop, I will. Edited December 13, 2011 by JediAnakin Quote

EDIT: If the Quest Mates want me to stop, I will. If you're lying on the ground having seizures I find it hard to get on with the quest. And now you are telling the rest that there is one cure to your problem that they have to come up with. I will proceed with the quest shortly but I want to make clear that character developments that requires other players isn't the best idea since they take lot of time and focus from the real quest. TheBoyWonder Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 That is something my character has to do. I must not of made that obvious in the post. Therefore I have revised it Quote
Tanma Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 The situation reminds me a little of Quest 4, where I briefly hijacked the plot because De'kra's memories got set back to zero. I had asked the QM if it would be okay first though, so that might have changed the event. Speaking of which, anyone else have the urge to slaughter everyone who follows Ennoc? Though I am glad that Ennoc's followers are not perfect, I get annoyed when all wielders of darkness are seen as evil and all masters of light are portrayed as good. Never forget Krika and Gavla! Wha--? the only follower of Ennoc I know of is Ellaria. You guys want to kill Ellaria? Sandy's character?! I've deliberately avoided reading in-progress Quests, with the exception of Quest 8 (because it will be done soon and I would have forgotten to read it otherwise) and Quest 14. Once we actually start the Quest, I'm going to roll a die, and assign myself a [Current Level] in 6 chance of successfully using a scry spell to see what's happened on the other Quest(s). If it succeeds, I'll read the Quest topic for as far as time allows me; if it fails, I will resist the temptation. This way, I can avoid Arthur accidentally learning things through out-of-character knowledge. Quote
