I'm guessing there is a consequence to people leaving, but we don't know it yet.

Ooh, loot and experience! Let's drag this out!

We should have made everyone leave except for the old man, free exp. Although, blind people almost certainly have strong powers.

Happy (stupifly late) New Years, everybody! holiday season has been excessively busy, but the weather has managed to clear my schedule for the next 4 or 5 days minimum. Update in 81 very soon!

hello folks, with a bit of luck i'm going on my first quest soon, i'd love some advice. should I spend my first 10 groats on a healing potion either so someone dosn't have to heal me or so i can heal someone else, or is the bedspread the usefull item it appears to be?

Also i've advertised my broom stick as a flying one. is this permissable in game rules or is it up to the GM?

my guess is that its not ok during combat as theres the front and back row mechanic, but possibly fine the rest of the time say for perception.

Buy a bedroll. Particularly as a Mage, you'll need it early on to replenish your Ether count, which will go down alarmingly fast.

As for broomsticks...well, your class can start with a broomstick-type weapon, which deals full damage from the Back Row as a melee attack, which it does by flying...so I'd say it's fine during combat.

Broomsticks that are used as weapons are indeed the flying variety, you got that right. That's exactly why they can deal normal damage from a distance.

Endgame can delay all he wants, I'm having rendering issues. And I'm getting rather busy again anyway.

Also, Zeph, nice new effect. I'll definitely be stealing it in the future.

Question though (the same question I've asked a friend of mine who's decided he's going to stage manage two shows WHILE maintaining a full-time college schedule and being production manager for a small theatre company): how do you plan to not die while running 92?

...also, more important question: what story arc is 93 a part of? It's not Russel, obviously, it's not Guffington (I think)...is it sort of a spiritual Wren arc spin-off?

Ah, don't mind me, I'm just happy to be back in the saddle again.

That's mine. :grin::tongue:

It's awesome. I'd hate to see it overused, but it makes Berserkers a little less...hampered...compared to the rest of the party. Also a great counter to effect-dealers and dual-strikers.

In other news, what is the piece used for Atramor's torso? I thought it was Barbossa's navy jacket at first, but now I can't tell WHAT it is. And same question for the legs. :sweet:

Thorin Oakenshield's torso from Attack of the Wargs, Boromir's legs from Mines of Moria.

What was that about politics leading nowhere, Pie?

Interesting strategy, though. Yet another item that Sandy created that ends up almost nulling his own enemy strategy.:sadnew:

Never thought I could take a stab at politics so literally.

Almost. :cry_sad::grin:

Doesn't he tend to do that frequently? :look::laugh:

Or maybe it's a story arc no one has been noticing...

I believe General Hamilton should have 20 defense: 2 from his shield + 3 from his armour + 3 from Hoke's flagpole, then Guardian Knights get a + 2 defence bonus along with their HP bonus.

So that's 10, and then he's reinforced so a total of 20.

Tesni should have 20 as well: 11 from her shield, + 4 from her armour, + 2 from her claws, + 3 from Hoke's flagpole.

Well to be fair, I thought I was nudging people towards their true alignments... Apparently I just have really poor inferring skills and thus had to slide my two all over the place, heh.

Me too, also... I'm still confused kind of how it works. :look::blush: I'm just not good at Diplomacy I think. :shrug_confused:

Hi all! First off, happy New Year to everyone. I hope you had a good time.

I've been lurking in the shadows now and then and reading some of the quests and I've got to say I really, really love the Baltarok trilogy going on right now. I have things I'd like to say about those quests. I've put everything in a spoiler, so people actually participating in the quest may choose to ignore it, thus not spoiling the other quests of the trilogy for them  .

Gotta love the inclusion of the Nords  . Also, the setting is really cool. I'm genuinely intrigued and interested in the Orcs. The whole vibe I get from these characters is awesome, it's like they're actually a unique culture. I don't really know how to phrase it myself  . Big part of this for me is the language. I'm a total language nut. So, I was wondering, is the Orc language you're using based on anything existing (be if fictive or real-world) or are you just making words up? I'm asking because it just looks really coherent and I'd love to know what everything means. Anyways, great job on all three of the quests so far  . (again: yay, Nords!!)

I often frequent this subforum when I have the time, because I just loving reading and seeing all of the quests. Sadly, I don't think I have the time to fully participate again. I'd hate it if I were to drop-out during a quest again like I did in #42 (I think). Also, I'm kind of stuck on where to go with Eric character-wise.

Even though I definitely don't have the time (nor actual experience) to host a long quest in the (near) future, I have been working on ideas for a quest that would take place up in the real North, in the world of the Vikings. Yesterday I watched Valhalla Rising (again, for the gazillionth time) and series like History Channel's Vikings just really put me in the mood to get RP'ing again and working on scenery and storylines for a potential quest. I'd love to really delve into their world someday, there's just some much I'd like to share about the Heroica Nords. Like why Vikings respect Vampires so much (like Haldor RP'ed several times), their relation - or rather emnity - with the Nôrns, maybe even some more heroic myths about their gods or champions. But right now, doing that is but a dream sadly :cry_sad: (damn you lack of time!). Maybe one day though...

Great to hear from you, Khorne!

Don't worry, this game isn't going anywhere. There's of course many twists and turns planned for the main storylines, but with such a large player-base, I'm confident Heroica RPG will continue into it's fourth year and beyond.

So anytime you have the time, you're welcome to take another jab at hosting!

Khrone! Good to see you're still around, even if Eric hasn't returned yet. I was thinking of sending him a Grogmas letter, but didn't think you'd see it. In any case, hope you can get back in the swing of things some time. :sweet:

Also, very impressive CallMePie, on the orc language, I thought you were using some kind of translator (I think there's one out there for Tolkein's Elvish).

(I think there's one out there for Tolkein's Elvish).

I know there are plenty of dictionaries; I don't think I've ever seen a translator that handles more than one word, at least not for Sindarin or Quenya. The hand translation's not too bad when assisted by dictionaries and guides, though.

Tensi--the nice thing about that blade is it ignores row as well as defense, so you can hit from the Back Row at full power.
