Sandy Posted January 10, 2014 Author Posted January 10, 2014 Sandy, any chance that Arahmin was inspired by Margomill from A Link Between Worlds? Nope, sorry! Ahriman is a pretty direct rip-off from Final Fantasy. http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Ahriman Quote
Endgame Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 (edited) Huh, I really need to get into Final Fantasy, don't I? ALBW is fantastic game though, especially now that you got a 3DS for Grogmas Christmas. It really is interesting to see what influences QMs, though. At this point, the game world has remnants of anything from Norse mythology to the Metal Gear Solid series, and still manages to be perfectly coherent in its own bizarre way. Kintobor Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Pinkamena's a pretty direct ripoff of everypony's favourite pink bundle of joy, straight down to the Party Cannon. 91, sorry for the delay, you'll get your update shortly. I'm currently in school, and I've got a puzzle cooked up for you guys that needs some finishing touches. Quote
Kintobor Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 If anyone else would like to take a shot at the puzzle in 91, feel free to drop me a PM with the answer. Quote
Duvors Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Sandy, the fourth turn in your solution is impossible according the the rules of the puzzle. Quote
Kintobor Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 "You there! Opt! Cake or Death?" "Well... cake, I guess? I'm lactose intolerant and all, but-" "Well WE'RE ALL OUT OF CAKE!!! We only had three of them and we didn't expect such a rush!" "So my choice is "or Death"?" "...Well we have the chicken." "Oh, I'll take that!" "Would you like the white wine to go with it?" I couldn't help myself! Quote
Endgame Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Slightly more realistic situation: "Opt." *shoots Karie before she can even respond*. Karie wouldn't have even gotten to pull off an "Acting" gag or anything. Quote
Kintobor Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Slightly more realistic situation. "So you think I'm here to kill you?" Zip! "Not really. Acting!" Quote
Palathadric Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Hmm...waiting to see Sofia's response to Dreyrugr. Crimson Crown have been awesome, even all the way back in Quest 11. Quote
Kintobor Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Can someone give me a quick description of the Crimson Crown? I know what they wear, but not really anything about them. Quote
Zepher Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 They're trying to destroy magic... or technology... or races that aren't human... or races that are human? I think CMP has taken their reigns, from what I understand when we QMs talk from time to time. Quote
Palathadric Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 They're just a rather mixed up bunch. Quote
Duvors Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Can someone give me a quick description of the Crimson Crown? I know what they wear, but not really anything about them. I think the point of the Crimson Crown is that only the OM controlling them knows that much about them. Quote
CMP Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 They're trying to destroy magic... or technology... or races that aren't human... or races that are human? Magic and higher technology. It just occurred to me they're so immediately hostile that nobody's ever asked what they do. Quote
Zepher Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 I think the Gray Plague was about purging something too, though. Quote
CMP Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 I think the Gray Plague was about purging something too, though. Races tied too closely to magic (elves, norns, etc) are considered just as harmful as magic itself. It's a matter of them trying to limit progress to what they think is reasonable for where humanity is. If they were completely successful, theoretically, history would play out much as it has in the real world. No magic, no near-steampunk airships or automatons. All the things that differentiate Heroica from the typical medieval era would be gone. Quote

Zepher Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Maybe their leader is a planes walker that has seen our world. That's the explanation Arthur would give, I'm sure. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 To some degree, I always pictured them as an equivalent to DC Comic's League of Shadows, but have enjoyed how they've developed over the past few quests. Quote

I think they're too weird and "unhuman" for Pretzel though. Quote

Kintobor Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Actually, if Pretzel's a Paladin, and he's into worshipping and willing to pledge eternal devotion to Ennoc, and if he hates undead, orcs, and other shunned upon races, he should really seek out the nearest Order Imperial member and sign up. Good luck finding one though, they're a sneaky bunch. Quote

Observe hilarity ensue. ...actually, now I want to see an all-Paladin Quest with Cronk, Boomingham, Sarge, and Pretzel. Though I imagine it would be awful to run as a QM, what with constant Guardian Angel, Deflected Damage, and Special Guard spam. Edited January 13, 2014 by Flipz Quote
