Duvors Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 They're retaliating! Up to now the heroes of Heroica have vanquished One door and one floor, the walls come next. Quote
Kintobor Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Up to now the heroes of Heroica have vanquished One door and one floor, the walls come next. Only for the ceiling to crash down on them once they do so. Quote
Duvors Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 "Disdain is a strong word, m'lady. I don't mind the Gods and powers, I just don't know what they've got to do with me. Let them strike me down if I've done wrong." Suddenly a bolt of holy lightning blasts Prince Frederic into oblivion. Ennoc; Oops, honest mistake guys! Quote
Flipz Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Only for the ceiling to crash down on them once they do so. Like it wasn't already trying to kill us anyway. Quote
Zepher Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Sorry all, leave for school on Monday, so finishing up all the photographs I'll need for the rest of the quests! Might be a slow online day for that reason. 88 is wrapped... I have one set left for 92! Quote
legobodgers Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 This is very off topic but has the youtube video 'The Lions Blaze' been referenced in any quest. I have been absent from the forum for quite some time and have not caught up with all the quests. Quote
Kintobor Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 (edited) Oh god... Our DnD group referenced that video to no end in one session. The entire quest was one big reference to it. I don't believe anyone has in Heroica at this point, but I'm certain someone will. Edited January 17, 2014 by Kintobor Quote
Zepher Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Now Docken is actually invincible! Run for the hills! Quote
CMP Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Now Docken is actually invincible! Run for the hills! How so? He'll be losing 20 SP. Quote
Zepher Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Wait, important question - does he take the damage as well as reflect it, or just reflect it and take no damage assuming he wouldn't be knocked out? And 20 SP is pocket change to Docken. And with 0 SP, that shield will be easy to upgrade cheaply and quickly. Quote
CMP Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Wait, important question - does he take the damage as well as reflect it, or just reflect it and take no damage assuming he wouldn't be knocked out? He has to take damage in order to reflect any of it back. Did you think the shield just made him immune to damage? Quote
Zepher Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Unless it was such a powerful attack, it KO'd him. In the Guardian Knight's Shield "reflect" means that the damage is literally reflected without the heroes taking it. Quote
Nic herring Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 so yesterday me and a mate and a young man in my care played fortaan. we played as monsters fighting a castle of heroes. the plot being we were heroes cursed to appear as monsters. our objective was to get to the king (previously rescued at nathuz) who had a crystal that could change us back. the young man played as the prince (cursed to be an ork for the duration) he has both mental and physical disabilities and can only use one arm with great dexterity. he can therefore roll the dice fine but we had to guess direction from other gestures which are less certain. the prince had only one 'no damage this attack' potion and i didn't expect him to survive the game, we had suspended the just knocked out rules. when he was close to death near the end the young man gave us a gesture that we felt meant keep pressing forward. he then rolled a shield getting him through a locked door that neither i nor my friend could follow through as we had no key. the prince then confronted his father alone and won the game with a single health point left. i had no idea it would happen and it was insanely fun. ballsy gaming and powerful story telling. For the rest of the night he kept signing winner at me while grinning. Quote
Kintobor Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Lots of text. Sounds interesting! The only Heroica board game I own is Nathuz, and most of the mini-minifigs are somewhere in my collection. Oh well. The game as a stand alone I felt was lacking, but the things in the set could easily be used to create a more interesting RPG. Quote
JimBee Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Oh, I guess I completely misunderstood how the Iris Shield works. If I understand it correctly now, the more SP it has, the less damage it can reflect back to the enemy? For example, a Level 50 enemy attacks the user (who is in the front row), the Iris Shield has SP:20. The user would take 30 damage, and reflect 30 damage back, right? Quote
Flipz Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 I think the idea (from Docken's perspective) is, "if you're going to make the monsters strong enough to hurt me, you'd better prepare to get hurt right back". Of course, what he really needs is a Mystic Knight to Enchant that up for him... Quote

I've slowly built up a complete set including the rare ganrash set. but yes, i feel that once you've played each set (or even as you play the first sets) you need to create a bit of the narrative for yourself. plus i've bought in extra pieces from another game, including a princess and a female barbarian. but theres also pirates and a glowing purple skeleton out there. Yes, the damage reflected is directly equal to damage taken. So if Docken's SP is high enough to block the attack completely, no damage will be reflected by the Iris Shield, either. Quote
Endgame Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 (edited) Wow, Naamah's drop is potent. EDIT: Either my eyes are decieving me, or Naamah's Hourglass no longer can pretrify people. Edited January 19, 2014 by Endgame Quote

I accidentally had the old version of the item in the stats. I thought it over, and decided that petrification was too much, even for an earth-elemental archdemon. Quote
Flare Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 "Aah damn it." Mizuki signs her name off Unlimited Quest:Fields of Glory and signs up for quest #94 and #95 You've already been chosen to go on the unlimited quest, how can you sign your name off now?? Quote
Endgame Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 That was only the current sign-ups, I believe, not the announcement. Quote

Tachyon Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Just wondering how low my chances are of getting into a quest. Quote
