Myrddyn Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 So, Necromancers Undead are Darkness elemental, right? Wouldn't that mean that in Q85, they'd do double damage to Nebukadnezzar? He's Humanoid and Undead, and Darkness does double damage to Humanoids and normal damage to Undead. Quote
Sandy Posted January 21, 2014 Author Posted January 21, 2014 Wouldn't that mean that in Q85, they'd do double damage to Nebukadnezzar? You are absolutely right. Good call. Quote
Kintobor Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 OoC: there are two Fydelle dos'! Zip! "Acting!" Hey, it's catching on! What's the occasion for, Bricksandparts? I'm not entirely sure. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Hey, it's catching on! What's the occasion for, Bricksandparts? I'm not entirely sure. Endgame accidentally had 2 NPCs named Fydelle, one of them is supposed to be Solon. Quote
Kintobor Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 That counts. I guess we need to set guidelines for the "Impostor Karie" meme. 1. If an NPC is misnamed, Impostor Karie is suitable. 2. If an NPC Icon is used for the wrong character, Impostor Karie is suitable. "Acting." Quote

Impostor Karie has a 25% chance of appearing in a the Normal-type Friend Safari (if the Karie species is already present), and is guaranteed to have at least two perfect IVs. By the way, Sandy, how are those remaining Tidings gifts going? I hope you haven't forgotten. Edited January 21, 2014 by Flipz Quote
Sandy Posted January 21, 2014 Author Posted January 21, 2014 By the way, Sandy, how are those remaining Tidings gifts going? I hope you haven't forgotten. On the contrary, I hoped you guys would have forgotten them. I'll get to them when I have the time. Quote
Endgame Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Hey, I forked over like 100 gold worth of consumables, I don't forget a transaction like that. Quote
Tachyon Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 On the contrary, I hoped you guys would have forgotten them. That was one of biggest gifting times of the year. Why would I forget ? Quote
Chromeknight Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 (edited) I've not forgotten. But I can wait. The rule in our house (for birthdays) is, If you miss a birthday by a month, your gift needs to be proportionally bigger... Edited January 21, 2014 by Chromeknight Quote
joeshmoe554 Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 "Well, hello there, heroes! It seems you're determined to muck up our plans... I was just about to leave with my little legion, but if you want me and my children to tear to shreds, though, so be it!" Is it just me, or is there something truly wonderful about the bad guy misspeaking as the introduction to the final confrontation. Quote
Vash the Stampede Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Makes them more believable. They're about to try something against an organisation that has a pretty good record for beating up bad guys, of coarse there is nervousness in large amounts. Quote
Zepher Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Pandora, thank you for the Grogmas gift, I think it literally prevented us from failing the quest! Quote
Endgame Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Is it just me, or is there something truly wonderful about the bad guy misspeaking as the introduction to the final confrontation. Ugh, remind me not to write battle preambles while I'm only half focused. Quote
Flipz Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Endgame. You're just...not going to win with this boss. No one is taking her seriously anymore after those typos. Just have her curse her clumsy human tongue or something and get on with it. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 And now we are shreds... apparently. Iris must be having a bad bad day. but if you want me and my children to tear you shreds Quote
joeshmoe554 Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 I still think a misspeak is a compelling idea for the main villain. Like Vash said, I think it makes the characters more believable since misspeaking is rather common. Characters in movies, video games, books, etc. never seem to have a slip of the tongue and I think it is interesting to think of the big bad guy making a simple speech mistake right before the big battle, and how said bad guy would regain his or her decorum after. I read your post a while back, but never got around to saying "thanks for posting" . Anyways, cool stuff right there . A while back I spoke of having vague ideas forming for a Quest up North and to prove that I am actually trying to do something with it, here's a test best for some scenery. I mainly built it to see what colors I'd use to portray the North. As you can see, I'm in desperate need of more white tiles and slopes, though . Picture quality is kind of low as I made it with my iPhone, but good enough to show the build!. Also, I got to say I just loooove Olive Green . Plus, here's some concept art of a Nordic vitki I made a while back . (spoilered both images so I wouldn't clutter the topic) But, sadly, as I've said, I don't think I'll host any time soon in the future, though . Still, as you can see, the idea hasn't left my mind yet! Quote

Pandora Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Pandora, thank you for the Grogmas gift, I think it literally prevented us from failing the quest! Oh wow, that's awesome if that's the case! Mushroom butterfly effect. And of course you are most welcome. Nyx just had to send something to Larry, and I kinda thought it'd be neat if your character received one of the cool and interesting items you the Questmaster had created. I really liked the idea of those 'shrooms, especially as they fit so well with the narrative of the quest and character of the chef we fought. Anyway, glad it was useful! Quote
Palathadric Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 >Avalanche - Hit (Throlar: 14+5 hp-(7/4=1 Damage)=14 HP) Avalanche vs. Throlar - Damage (Avalanche: 12+5 HP-(12/2=6 HP)=11 HP) Throlar vs. Avalanche - Damage (Throlar: 14+5 hp-(7/4=1 Damage)=14 HP) In Throlar's attack, since Avalanche was fighting from the front row, it would've been 7/2. Of course, that wouldn't have changed anything. Quote

Of course, that wouldn't have changed anything. Actually Avalanche attacked from the back row first and then from the front row, which would mean his first attack was 7/4 since both opponents were in the back row. His second attack would have done 7/2 due to Avalanche standing in the front row and Throlar in the back row. Quote

Haha, I also got the Chains of the Pongcanis Chieftain, which are a pretty attractive item to me, actually. I tried to make it a rule that I would never trade for anything I created, but if it's gifted to me... . I wish I hadn't said they can't be removed though, I don't know why I made them that way since removing them costs a turn anyway. Ah well. The shrooms are totally Darkdargon's creation, anyway. I like reusing enemies. And, as I say once a week, I'm excited for Strivvi II. Now Boomers owes you. Quote
