CMP Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 (edited) Before Fez came out, it and HL3 were commonly mentioned in jokes together. Difference is we still don't have any proof the latter actually exists...which is why I compare it to your quest. Edited January 27, 2014 by CallMePie Quote
The Legonater Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 On the bright side, I don't believe your quest has been in production for over a year yet Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 On the bright side, I don't believe your quest has been in production for over a year yet Actually, I started building sets for Flipz's quest in late September 2012. Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Deus Ex remake? I think that's been in the run for a long while. I too try to make quests but I have an awful attention span and am in a dark age of lego, so whenever I plan something I'll look at someone else's quest and want to copy that. But I do have something very simple in the works. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 So...anyone want to run through the Fields again? Quote
Palathadric Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 ...Maybe when I get back...if there's no other quest to go on. Quote
Endgame Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Remember when I gave 3 options about what my next quest entailed? Yeah, you can probably narrow it down to one now. Quote
Cutcobra Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 ...Maybe when I get back...if there's no other quest to go on. My crystal ball predicts there may be a new quest in early february... Quote
CMP Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Yeah, you can probably narrow it down to one now. I knew it. Forget Strivvi, bring on the giant killer robots!! Quote
Quarryman Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 So...anyone want to run through the Fields again? Was just thinking it could be fun to do some necromancy in the Fields. Quote
Zepher Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I knew it. Forget Strivvi, bring on the giant killer robots!! Strivvi II: Never Forget. Just wait like two weeks. I think we're almost done with 91 (Kint, not rushing you, that's just the general feeling I've been getting from what you've been saying!) and then all the pieces will be in place. Quote
CMP Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Strivvi II: Never Forget. The most logical thing to do is add giant killer robots to Strivvi. Are you writing all this down, Scuba? Quote
CMP Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Strivvi II: Strive Hard with a Vengeance (Still for Robots). I wonder what the banner for the quest is going to look like. Quote
JimBee Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Hm, I'd be interested to know the backstory behind this... seems Hybros' very first weapon has seen quite a bit of travel since Quest #7. Reaper’s Scythe (WP:33, damages only humanoids; suitable to assassins only; scythe) Hybros (played by JimButcher)Level 1 Rogue Power: 4 Health: 7/7 Gold: 0 Inventory: Reaper Scythe (WP:3), Potion, Venom, Shovel Quote
Flare Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Hm, I'd be interested to know the backstory behind this... seems Hybros' very first weapon has seen quite a bit of travel since Quest #7. What, you think that Hybros had the only Reaper's Scythe in the whole world? Quote
Kintobor Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Strivvi II: Live Free or Strive Hard (with a side dish of Robots) Quote
Flare Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Strivvi II: Been waiting for this one almost as long as Flipz' quest Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Which was meant to start last may..... Quote
Flare Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 (edited) Bricksandparts, if you use italics for descriptions and non-speech related things in your quest, I think it would make it clearer to understand. I started to get confused between your posts and the other heroes posts because of that Edited January 28, 2014 by Flare Quote
Flipz Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 "Well, the Water Canteen is largely situational, much like an item known as the Amulet of the Elven Horseman, which, off the top of my head, you offered another hero about 25 Gold for. "The Desert Cloak provides immunity to three elements. The only item you're currently selling that also offers elemental immunity is the Unholy Armor, which provides 5 SP and immunity to two elements for 500 Gold. Based on the fact that the SP: 1 Leather Armor and Leather Cap are each worth 30 Gold, and the fact that SP: 2 Orcish Helmet and Sand Worm Hide are each worth 60 Gold, and the fact that the SP: 3 Knight's Armor and Tricorne are each worth 90 Gold, I'd say that the 5 SP component of the Unholy Armor makes up 150 Gold of its price. That leaves 350 Gold covering the two elements, which is 175 Gold per element. Multiply that by three since my cloak provides immunity to three elements and divide that by two since I know you have to make a profit, and the result is 262 and a half, call it 260, Gold." Please let Fabian be extremely traumatized by this. Also, in-universe explanation for the delays in the Tidings letters: the strain put on the Z-Mail wards, in combination with the unexpected reaction with the time-stop and deathward spells placed on all Heroica Heroes by the Veterans, created a shockwave of Etherial energy that backwashed through the conductive conduit, retroactively delaying the arrival of the remaining responses. This, of course, is why one should never travel through the Time Vortex without a properly-constructed sentient shell, and why the Regulus clan's Planeswalking draws energy from it but does not use it as the actual means of transit (even the Aoi's tech is vastly inadequate for the construction of such a shell, only magic on the scale of the Council of the Watchful Eye could even come close, and even they prefer simple pocket dimensions for their purposes). Or it could just be traffic on the magical airways. Also, I noticed the SP artifact trend in the market yesterday as well, but I don't think you've accounted for the fact that Fabian just doubles whatever an artifact's worth for those sold to him, Doc - 5 x 30 = 150 gold for the SP, and 50 for each gem, x 2 = 500 for his selling price. Flipz Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Or it could just be traffic on the magical airways. Except Sandy already stated that 93 takes place AFTER the letters were sent--thus, the paradox has to be introduced via the unusual use of the V-mail system and also it's a reason to have the Time Vortex in Heroica. Brickdoctor Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Also, I noticed the SP artifact trend in the market yesterday as well, but I don't think you've accounted for the fact that Fabian just doubles whatever an artifact's worth for those sold to him, Doc - 5 x 30 = 150 gold for the SP, and 50 for each gem, x 2 = 500 for his selling price. If that was the case (and I'm not saying it isn't), then he'd be doubling the price per SP that was already the same as his other SP-granting artifacts, which means he's either quadrupled the price of SP for the Unholy Armor, or he's selling all the other basic SP artifacts at half price. I did account for his doubling of price; I divided the final price I arrived at by two. I just removed the cost of the SP first without multiplying or dividing it since it was already directly based on the selling price of other artifacts. Quote
