Kintobor Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I too have only made one, in Quest 84, but it was really subtle. I caught that after you posted it. Like, four months after. Quote
Scorpiox Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Probably some. I liked Who, but I agree, it's not my favorite show. I stopped watching after Tennent left - it was too depressing. I would agree that half of the best writers seemed to leave when he did. Moffat's writing is far too laced with references and self-indulgency to be enjoyable for the casual viewer. Quote
joeshmoe554 Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I personally like his writing, and of 9 actors I've seen in the role, Smith was my favorite. Some of his stories got a little too intricate and convoluted, but overall I still think he is one of the best writers there is when it comes to time travel stories. Anyway, back to Heroica. As far as references go, I'm still waiting to see someone named Alice or Cooper in #93. Quote
Myrddyn Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Quest 93: I am hoping to have internet access for the next couple of days, but it may not be the case, unfortunately. If I don't post, anyone in quest 93 may feel free to post actions for Erik. Quote
Zepher Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Hello all! I'm on the road until tomorrow evening - I'm terribly sorry for the inconvenience. It will be the only bit of travel on my spring break, so after that you will once more have my full attention! Quote

It's alright Zepher, you haven't been too terrible with delays in the quest, its forgivable Quote
JimBee Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 I hate to be the one to ask this time, but are the Grogmas letters ever going to be answered? I know life is busy, Sandy, but I'd rather just know if we're ever going to get a reply than sit waiting for one. It has been over two months... Quote
Flipz Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Man, what's the deal with the rampant inactivity recently? I know life is kicking me in the megablocks, as it is for many of the QMs, but most of us still manage to check in once a day, even if we can't do more than say "I'm too busy to post". Quote
Kintobor Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Yeah, I've noticed it too. Lord Duvors dropping of the map ticked me off, but K-Nut has a reason at least that I overlooked. Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 (edited) The inactivity's a shame... Honestly, I've been refreshing for the past 6 hours (and doing other things of course) and seen loads of people reading the forum but no-one has posted! Has anyone ever considered what Heroica would be like in other settings? Sci fi, Apocalypse, etc. I'd love to see a Sci-fi rpg on Eurobricks. Edited March 9, 2014 by Pyrovisionary Quote
Sandy Posted March 9, 2014 Author Posted March 9, 2014 I hate to be the one to ask this time, but are the Grogmas letters ever going to be answered? I know life is busy, Sandy, but I'd rather just know if we're ever going to get a reply than sit waiting for one. It has been over two months... I know. They are going to get answered, but it's just that answering them is a whole lot more work than I anticipated, because I need to read back on past quests to make sure that I don't screw up anyone's NPCs, make up gifts to match what was given up, etc. Combined with the fact that I'm going through a phase of being unmotivated towards this game (especially when compared to the countless other things I could be doing in my spare time), the event has been prolonged way too long. I still have about twenty letters to answer to... Looking back, I really should have limited the amount of letters that could be sent to one per person, but there's no use crying over spilt milk. I will get to them soon. Quote
Endgame Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 There was a rather large back and forth between heroes near the end, so the workload may be deceptively large - I hope we're not creating too much of a hassle for you, Sandy. Quote
Vash the Stampede Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Man, what's the deal with the rampant inactivity recently? I know life is kicking me in the megablocks, as it is for many of the QMs, but most of us still manage to check in once a day, even if we can't do more than say "I'm too busy to post". Well I'm only inactive because i'm not sure of what step to take next currently. Has anyone ever considered what Heroica would be like in other settings? Sci fi, Apocalypse, etc. I'd love to see a Sci-fi rpg on Eurobricks. It would need a complete revision of the rules but it would be pretty epic. I guess Star Wars kind of have a similar thing in a sci-fi setting (Jedi Temple) but it would be very interesting to see a Heroica type organisation in an Apocalyptic setting. Quote

Vash the Stampede Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 We couldn't do Star Wars because the world is already established, Heroica thrives on Player created content. I wasn't talking about making a Star Wars game I was talking about how the Jedi Temple acted as something similar to Heroica (ok half the time the missions were important but the other half it seems like they are stuck doing odd jobs that somehow become dramatic and saved planets but at the end of the day was still something incredibly simple), which is why I said an Apocalyptic setting would be interesting because as I mentioned earlier Star Wars has already done a similar type of thing for a Sci-fi setting. Ah, I see. I've always loved The Fallout and wasteland series of videogames so an Apocalypse RPG on this website would be awesome if it could live up to the standards of Heroica! Capt.JohnPaul Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Something like Tom Clancy's Rainbow six would be cool. (Like heroes are all international agents and a few are selected for the team assigned to a specific quest/mission.) Quote
Zepher Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 (edited) Something like Tom Clancy's Rainbow six would be cool. (Like heroes are all international agents and a few are selected for the team assigned to a specific quest/mission.) That could actually be really awesome, though that may just be because I just rewatched Archer for the fourth or fifth time. I like all these concepts, actually. Though I'm looking forward to Heroica's forward movement as a Fantasy game! I don't know how Sandy is doing with the over-all story-line, but I have the feeling that we're... maybe one half of the way through? It makes sense that some players have to go recharge their batteries a little! I've considered taking a break before, and I will be taking one from hosting after these two quests wrap up. It just means we come back with renewed vigor! EDIT: That being said, those who disappear mid-quest without warning do make my face red with rage. Edited March 10, 2014 by Zepher Quote
Kintobor Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 "Let's see if this is the fearsome book you think it is." Ella opens one. Inside is sprawling hand writing. Ah, so you found Endgame's boss notes? Quote
Zepher Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 We're not going that meta... yet. Naw, meta has it's place, but I don't think it's Heroica. Except for, of course, Finnigan. Quote
Duvors Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Is Tarn going to become a NPC? Just because he's in love with one doesn't mean he has to be one. Quote
Kintobor Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Is Tarn going to become a NPC? I don't think he needs to. Guts went with Sorona for that little period of time and got the Dagger of QM's Bane, and Karie's secretly saw and is now a member of Super Secret Syndicate Mission Force GO!, so I wouldn't think so. He may be gone for a little bit, but they'll probably be bonuses in terms of character development and other stuff if he does. Quote
Wedge09 Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 An Apocalypse "Heroica", sounds interesting Quote
