Brickdoctor Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Well, like I said, if I was in any given QM's shoes, and I'd been asked, I'd probably say yes, feel free to reuse it. I would just appreciate them asking. Agreed. It's just a matter of courtesy. I agree with Flipz in that certain items need to be 're-flavored' before they can be reused, but I think that's something we'd all do anyways to make items fit our quests' plots and characters. (Unless, of course, the characters themselves are being reused also, but then I think it'd be obvious to all of us that we'd need to ask permission first.) Once they're generic weapons and artifcats or re-flavored weapons and artifacts, well, I think it'd be unfair for a QM to prevent another QM from stealing the mechanics of an item. I don't think there's anything wrong with stealing and re-flavoring an item as long as it's Sandy-approved. The original creator doesn't really have a case to prevent that if his storyline elements aren't also being taken, except in the occasional case when the item and its associated powers represent a major point of a storyline. But then they'd probably be unique/powerful enough that Sandy wouldn't approve them for use in the new item. Quote
Sandy Posted March 28, 2014 Author Posted March 28, 2014 I'd really like to think that everything in this game is common property - storylines and related NPCs excluded. The world is everyone's to create, and I've even left many blanks on the world map (including a whole "uncharted ocean") for others to fill in. Likewise, enemies and items should be automatically allowed for re-use, as long as they're not meant to be one-of-a-kind. It all just brings so much cohesion to this game. Because of that, I'd love to see the Bestiary and the Treasury updated, but unfortunately I don't have any extra time to dedicate to them myself. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Kind of a random question, approximately what is the size of Uland? Quote
CMP Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I've always thought its size comparable to Iceland. Because of that, I'd love to see the Bestiary and the Treasury updated, but unfortunately I don't have any extra time to dedicate to them myself. There's just so much crap to keep up with, though. Flare actually sent me the different items for his Quests when it was still running. If everyone was willing to do that, I'd be happy to get the Treasury started again, since the most time-consuming is part is leafing through entire Quests just to get a few items listed. Quote
Kintobor Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 (edited) I can probably go through my quests and find all the items that are in them. Edited because improper grammar is kool. Edited March 28, 2014 by Kintobor Quote

I'm thinking of making a table on contents at the beginning of my next quest, which will have all the information that the party knows and links to different chapters of the quest. This would include NPCs, items, maps, and other similar stuff. Quote

This would include NPCs, items, maps, and other similar stuff. Just send me the items via PM while you're going back through it to link that stuff, then. I've got everything up to Quest 51 already, barring Quests 48 and 50. ...Probably the reason I stopped. Quote
Sandy Posted March 28, 2014 Author Posted March 28, 2014 Kind of a random question, approximately what is the size of Uland? If we go by quests, it really varies. It takes about a week to travel from Shelbric to Ve'er, a few days from Eubric to Bric'lin, but only one day from Eubric to the Suicide Cliffs. So the shorter the distance on the map, the longer it takes to traverse. But conflicting information aside, I'd say Iceland is a good comparison, like CMP suggested. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Anyone wanna take a guess at how many bricks were in this model? Quote
Sandy Posted March 28, 2014 Author Posted March 28, 2014 Anyone wanna take a guess at how many bricks were in this model? Zero, because it's digitally made? Sorry, bad joke. I couldn't even begin to guess... Looks majestic, anyway. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Zero, because it's digitally made? I'll leave the guessing out there for now and reveal the number tonight or tomorrow or something. By the way, the count is only for the outside, I couldn't possibly contain the inside of the model as well at the walls in one model. Basically this is just a facade. Quote
Tachyon Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Its pretty hard to see........I wish my vision was better Quote
Bricksandparts Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Can you zoom in? If not, I can post a link to a bigger version. Quote
Tachyon Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Its more a matter of brightness but I can see the guards now. Quote
Zepher Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 B&P, though I really have a distaste for digital sets (I understand that it's a personal taste, never fear!) your sets do look very nice for this quest, and you've definitely worked out some of the kinks in your more complicated mechanics from the past - more streamlined but still unique battles! A huge step in the right direction! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 That final composite does look good, Bricksandparts. Which reminds me, Flipz: hurry up with your quest already, if not only so that I can show off my Cathedral of Mercutio sets! Quote
Kintobor Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Alright, so my internet's buggered. Again. Sorry, but I might not be able to update until Tuesday at the latest. Sorry guys. Quote
Kintobor Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 False alarm, everything's alright in the world again. Quote
Palathadric Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 OOC: Can I edit my hero statistics now? Generally, it's unnecessary to edit your statistics until the end of the quest. Quote
Palathadric Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Don't worry. We'll try it again some other time...with Nagure as well. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Don't worry. We'll try it again some other time...with Nagure as well. Yes. Quote
Palathadric Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Kintobor, technically it's not Round 1 yet. In other news: Boba Fett! Quote
Flipz Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 "All right, lets do this!" Thalion crosses his staves and targets the two closest serpentine flames. Thalion casts a Water spell at Serpentine Flame E (and F) from back row. So he's crossing the streams? Quote
Kintobor Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Remember when I said my internet was running again? Well it's not anymore. If someone could post actions for Karie incase I can't get online Monday, it'd be appreciated. Quote
