Flipz Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 For some strange reason, I actually seem to recall an enemy in Heroica having marshmallows as a drop, or at least they were mentioned... That said, someone needs to get 16 ice creams, the result would be hilarious! (Warning: has been playing Mario and Luigi: Dream Team. ) Quote
UsernameMDM Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 A smart QM would make marshmallows, candies, and ice cream drops in upcoming battles. Quote
Kintobor Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 That said, someone needs to get 16 ice creams, the result would be hilarious! (Warning: has been playing Mario and Luigi: Dream Team. ) So have I. It's actually sort of been the inspiration for a quest I've got in the back of my head for awhile now. Quote
Flipz Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 So have I. It's actually sort of been the inspiration for a quest I've got in the back of my head for awhile now. Just as long as it doesn't rely on gyroscope controls. Quote
Kintobor Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Karie's corner table's available, Flipz. She's engraved her name on it, and I'm certain no one would be sitting in it. Or at least, no one should be sitting in it. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I'm guessing that this quest is not the finale, endgame? I hope it's not. Otherwise you lied to us. Although it is April fools day so... Quote
Endgame Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I'm guessing that this quest is not the finale, endgame? I hope it's not. Otherwise you lied to us. Although it is April fools day so... My finale is not going to be so innocuously presented. One of the bosses on one of my old quests was based off of a major Dream Team bout! Extra points for those who guess who was the expy of whom, in terms of strategy. (Also, DT's gyroscope controls were pretty great... Until they suddenly stop working at the very last section of a 60 minute long boss rush, killing you nigh instantly. Hnnrgh.) Quote
Masked Builder Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Why has no one bought anything from Unikitty?! That stuff is awesome!!! Quote
Kintobor Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Because no one can! I've got a kitten, but I have no clue where I'm getting the two puppies... Quote
Endgame Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 (edited) My advice is to drag Sorrow out of that school and trade him in to Unikitty for a <3 while you still have the chance, 93ers. Edited April 1, 2014 by Endgame Quote
Endgame Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Undead is an arbitrary term. Sorrow has a life, he's just been using it past its expiration date. Quote
Duvors Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 (edited) Undead is an arbitrary term. Sorrow has a life, he's just been using it past its expiration date. And he seems to be on the verge of doing it again. And Sandy, I like that you've found a way to incorporate Unikitty into our little world here, but do the prices she asks have to be so impossible to pay? And I'd also like to point out that UNIKITTY DOESN'T TALK LIKE THAT. And if this is all some April Fools prank so help me I'll... Edited April 2, 2014 by Lord Duvors Quote
Sandy Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 And if this is all some April Fools prank so help me I'll... Yay, at least I fooled someone! Quote
Palathadric Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 ~Unikitty's Cloud Cuckoo Emporium is now closed.~ No-o-o-o-o-o-o!!!!!!1 !!!! Quote
Cutcobra Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Please tell me Elphaba not coming is part of the April Fools joke... Quote
Darkdragon Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 I think it's part of the actual story, you should probably be very afraid. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Is Daffodil a Witcher reference? I'm sure I know that from somewhere. It's a possibility that Daffodil and Sultan are a Witcher reference, yes. Nice catch. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 (edited) See, Scuba, this is what you need Mages for. Would spending an ether to get rid of an obstacle that fights back work? Edited April 2, 2014 by Scubacarrot Quote
Flipz Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Would spending an ether to get rid of an obstacle that fights back work? Garnet: open a hole in the floor beneath them; alternatively, just blast a hole in the wall so large it's physically impossible for them to block it. Emerald: Vine Wrap. 'nuff said. Opal: ice the floor, push out of way Sapphire: whirlwind Aquamarine: "Azumarill, use Aqua Jet!" (or for a more probable solution, water spout) Admittedly, the better general attack elements (fire, lightning, Light, Darkness) have somewhat limited capabilities for non-combat use, but I'm sure there could be some creative solutions (i.e. use weak jolt of Lightning to paralyze, etc.). And of course, narrative causality applies, so if the plot says you don't get in, you don't get in. Quote
Kintobor Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Hehe! Just got Attack of the Wargs for $20 less than retail price! All those Wargs! Quote

And of course, narrative causality applies, so if the plot says you don't get in, you don't get in. Lightning: kick start an engine or other device powered by electricity Fire: Start a fire, melt ice, vaporize water, burn trees Light: Brighten a room, solve a mirror puzzle (ala WBD's hotel quest), blind/distract someone Darkness: Obscure people or objects from being detected, take out a searchlight, confuse/distract someone I'd really like to see more of the Spellcasting trait being able to be used in quests. And I don't mean just "summon a giant boulder to crush the enemy" or "part the seas so we can walk to Dastan and avoid hiring a sailor and ship altogether" . I'm talking about creative use of the elements in a realistic way as alternatives to tasks and puzzles, such as using light in WBD's mirror puzzle. While it was a cool puzzle in itself, if the party had not obtained a certain reflective object needed for the puzzle, they could sub-in a Mage to cast a beam of light to solve it. As a QM I wouldn't expect that kind of thinking, but would allow it to work in certain situations. A non-gem example would be in 96 with the lock. I don't think Scuba planned for Atramor and Boomingham to try to pick the lock, but it was a good spur-of-the-moment solution that was creative and realistic. Quote

JimBee Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Please tell me Elphaba not coming is part of the April Fools joke... There is that mega plot-heavy 100th quest due soon... Well that's just poor foresight on his part. I remember the day when all Rogues had badass lock-picking skills. Quote
