Darkdragon Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Naawww! How will the heroes in Quest 14 even have the heart to kill the golden scorpion when they find it. Trust me, Cinna will have no heart left by then. Quote
Sandy Posted December 19, 2011 Author Posted December 19, 2011 Naawww! How will the heroes in Quest 14 even have the heart to kill the golden scorpion when they find it. Pish-posh, we killed baby scorpions during Quest 12 even when we would not have had done it. We did it for the sweet experience! Quote
Darkdragon Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 (edited) Sandy In regards to an enemy's free hit if they are not targeted - will the enemy attack anyone in particular, the first person in the round, or is it random? Nevermind it's in the first post of this thread. Edited December 19, 2011 by darkdragon Quote

Nevermind it's in the first post of this thread. Similar question, regarding the *Scary* effect. Does it absorb the free hit, or just make him untargetable by lower level enemies, so that the free hit instead targets the next in line? Can't recall seeing the hat in action, heh. Quote

I did not think about this when I created the item (such a long time ago), and Brickdoctor is free to correct me if it has been used differently during Quest#7, but in my thinking the hat makes weaker enemies avoid directly attacking Bartholomew in all cases. If he rolls DAMAGE or SPECIAL DAMAGE, the enemies will not attack (unless the special is something other than an attack). Likewise, the enemies will not target Bartholomew for Free Hits (because they're too afraid of him), and will instead choose other targets. I don't see why the hat should stop Free Hits from happening at all... Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I don't think the Dread Hat has ever been used, actually. The last battle of Quest 1 ended in one Round in which I didn't roll Damage or Special Damage, Quest 7 took all my loot away from me, and I wasn't able to participate in the first battle of Quest 14. I don't see why the hat should stop Free Hits from happening at all... That's what I was unsure of. I had assumed it would behave that way, but then Doc suggested that Bartholomew go to the first action slot, so that he could "eat" the first free-hit with the hat. Wanted to make sure we wouldn't end up with Cinna taking the free hit (poor girl's been through enough, what with her calloused hands and all). Quote
Etzel Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 The heroes in my quest should maybe think back on what they have learned during the quest. The answer might be there... But of course, if you want to burn down the tavern, go ahead! It might hit you back later on though. Quote

Kadabra Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Rumble Strike, like I posted in my Quest, BL and my dad's cancer just got worse and my sister, BL, and I are doing a rotation schedule so one of us is up there with him at all times. Unfortunately Dad doesn't have a computer (shocking, I know) or wireless internet, so BL won't have internet until the 25th/26th. I guess Chromeknight gets control of his character, but he didn't say anything about it. (We had other things on our minds, heheh. ) Quote
Rumble Strike Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Thanks for letting me know, real life always has to come first. I hope your dad gets better. Quote

Tanma Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 That's it! We'll throw Battle ants at them! Now where are we gonna find some BAttle Ants... Brilliant, the ants will slaughter all those soldiers. All you need is to collect a ton of sugar, and fling it into the battle field by catapult. The sugar will sprinkle over the battlefield and attract the ants, who will maul the soldiers over the sugar. Quote
CMP Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 That's it! We'll throw Battle ants at them! Now where are we gonna find some BAttle Ants... That's ridiculous. You're supposed to rally the chickens at the farm and have them assist you. Quote

TheBoyWonder Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 This probably has been answered but when you are An Advanced Class, do you still gain 1 health per level? Quote
Sandy Posted December 20, 2011 Author Posted December 20, 2011 This probably has been answered but when you are An Advanced Class, do you still gain 1 health per level? Yes, of course. And one ether as well, if you are a class that can use ether. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 I hope you don't mind all the out of character posts in the quest, Etzel. Since this is the first battle of it's kind I think we're all just trying to figure out how exactly it works. I am really enjoying it. The way it's set up, I feel like a general left to make a last stand defending the town. Quote

I'm a little stressed at the moment as I'm trying to make sure that I got the rest of the quest prepared before I leave for x-mas tomorrow. Quote

Most of us will be busy during christmas anyway, so if we have to take a short break it's not terrible. Quote

JimBee Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Question regarding the Blinded and Sealed effects: what exactly is the difference when it comes to enemies? Is it the style of combat that the enemy uses (if there was a mage-like enemy, would it have to be sealed to be blocked, just as something like a dog would have to be blinded)? Or is the difference defined as special damage vs. damage? If the former, how would the style be of combat be defined? The use of ether? Quote
Khorne Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Even though I didn't participate in the Quest, I thoroughly enjoyed following the Darkstar quest. Interesting plotline and great roleplaying by the players. The Kill Bill music at the end was just icing on an already great cake . Quote
