UsernameMDM Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 (edited) And make the gap between strong and weak heroes even larger ? No thanks. The gap? That's called LEVELS. Edited May 7, 2014 by UsernameMDM Quote
Endgame Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Yeah, as long as people pay the right price for it, I'd sell my stuff to anyone - low level, high level, OP or otherwise. Quote
Kintobor Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Wow, Scuba. I've been wanting to say something about you're builds early, but after seeing your latest build, my word! Absolutely stunning! Quote
Tachyon Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 You have an SP 20 shield. Think how long it'll take for a newbie to get one of them. Your'e already rolling around in OP gear, I don't think that you really need more. Quote

Hoke's actually one of the least powerful Heroes, actually--he's got high WP and SP thanks to his class, but he's a glass cannon, he's really easy to take out. Quote

Still a lot more OP that practically any newcomer to this game. Why would I want to make him more OP ? Quote
swils Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Still a lot more OP that practically any newcomer to this game. Why would I want to make him more OP ? Because, in theory, his level of success within the game should have zero impact on your own enjoyment of your time spent here. Quote
Zepher Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I think he was joking, but I also don't understand your opposition to gaps in power. The older players are going to be more experienced! It just happens. It's not like he stepped into the game and was rewarded immediately, he started with the same stuff as every new player. Quote

Alexis on the other hand is more fitting. But I get the point you're trying to make. Quote

Bricksandparts Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 The problem arises when there aren't enough quests for the right level groups or when there is a mix of few high and low levels in the hall. Quote
Endgame Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 It's OP items I'm against. If you can take items that have been deemed balanced and make yourself stronger, all the more power to you. There is a 5 quest gap. not to mention his class of Mystic Knight, acting as a divider. It's going to happen. Not everyone here is going to be the same power - for the most part, the gap stays sane and everything is mostly balanced. Quote
Chromeknight Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Nerwen and Guts started at the same time. Which would you rather meet in the arena? Not all classes are created equal. Not all quests are created equal. There's more to progression than time spent or number of quests. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 You have an SP 20 shield. Think how long it'll take for a newbie to get one of them. Your'e already rolling around in OP gear, I don't think that you really need more. It started out as SP:3 in 2011. I paid for upgrades before Hoke became a Mystic Knight at level 15 in early 2012. So it took years for Hoke to get a SP:20 shield. Should take the same for newbies too. What other gear do I have that is OP? Still a lot more OP that practically any newcomer to this game. Why would I want to make him more OP ? So a level 30 should be on equal footing with a level 1-5? What game works like that? Hoke's actually one of the least powerful Heroes...he's really easy to take out. Quote
Tachyon Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I'd rather the gap become smaller rather then larger. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 (edited) I'd rather the gap become smaller rather then larger. So go on quests, gain XP, earn loot, and upgrade your gear. Just.like.every.RPG. Hoke's been on half a dozen quests and spent months (IRL) in the Fields of Glory. It's not like I signed up for the game yesterday and the game gods bestowed rich blessings upon me. Hoke doesn't own any unfairly powerful items, so unless we're going to execute heroes who work hard to create an effective build there's nothing really wrong here. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Hoke needs a t-shirt that says "I survived the blast of 53." Quote
Khorne Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I'll buy the Fighting Boots and trade them for the Boots of Evasion. Nah, I don't think I'll ever part with my Boots of Evasion. They're just too awesome and unique . I'd rather have an extra pair of Fighting Boots in my inventory than having to choose between them and only have one item. So Boots of Evasion it still is for me. Sorry, Pretzelboy . Just become an Artisan. I had never really taken a good look at the class, but now that you've mentioned it, it certainly looks like something I'd like to play as. Chance of upgrading weapons in battle and having market discounts? Yes please ! EDIT: Nice sets, Scuba. Too bad the pictures are kind of blurry/washed out most of the time. Still, incredible builds . CMP Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 "What will it take for them to get that they will die here?" If you'd quit mailing the corpses back to Eubric you have a nice collection of examples to get the message across. Quote
Endgame Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 If you'd quit mailing the corpses back to Eubric you have a nice collection of examples to get the message across. Honestly, I have considered that. Sorrow just needs a bit more pordding before he starts chucking dead bodies at children, though. One more runner and he'll probably hit that point. Quote
Kintobor Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Oh god, more redheads with the same face as Karie. This can't end well. Quote
Sandy Posted May 8, 2014 Author Posted May 8, 2014 Oh god, more redheads with the same face as Karie. This can't end well. That face just goes well with ginger hair. Not all of them can be Karie's long lost sisters, though. Quote
Endgame Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 How are there multiple Medals of Valor? I was under the impression that was the Bonaparte's big artifact? Quote
