Myrddyn Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Also, I don't think Scorpiox ever stated that he'd wish to get rid off or sell/trade Ognar's Beard, did he? Or did he say something about it in-quest that I missed? Still, the Beard combined with my Boots would be total win . Thanks for the heads up, other-Eric Yeah, I don't recall him saying he wanted to sell it. I never said thats what it was. But its pretty much as close to communism as this game can get. Communism is not a completely ridiculous concept (I also never claimed such), but it has little chance of success on a large scale platform, for example a country. Oh, fair enough. I saw the word "commie" in there, and that seems to get thrown around a lot by people who don't understand communism. Sorry I made that assumption incorrectly. Quote
Cutcobra Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 I'd be willing to pay a pretty penny for that Conspirator... Quote
Vash the Stampede Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Also, Is anyone else noticing a load of Xbox One ads on the forums? I had a bit of a similar problem a tad back and found that an extension installed itself on my browser so check that. Quote
Scorpiox Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Why is Haldor still being listed as hastened? He was hastened at the start of the battle, but has been knocked-out since then. Quote
Palathadric Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Clearly not, since even diplomacy didn't sway her one bit. But speaking diplomatically on TV? Entirely different story. Besides chirls are supposed to love TV. Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 I'd be willing to pay a pretty penny for that Conspirator... Sounds good. ~Sign-ups for Quest#100 have been extended until the 16th of May.~ Quote
Palathadric Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 (edited) Someone on a quest telling me I can't loot the place? What is the world coming to? Pretzel was right. It must be the demons' corrupting influence. What a disciple! Edited May 10, 2014 by Palathadric Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 That reminds me of the day we tried to start a Knights of the round table faction. If that had worked it would have been pretty cool. Quote

Kintobor Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 That has got to be one of the worst set of rolls I've seen in a while. Quote

Waterbrick Down Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Maybe I just need to stop running the rounds, this is getting ugly. Quote
JimBee Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Apologies to 98 and UQ, it's a busy time for me. I'll have updates in a few hours. Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 What a disciple! Maybe Pretzel should start his own version of Guts's angry army. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Maybe I just need to stop running the rounds, this is getting ugly. Just roll better next time. ;) Quote

CMP Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 It was posted in the mechanics that AoE Shields only affect the section you're in. Quote
Endgame Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Has anyone ever considred a non-conventional tone while narrating a quest? Think Lemony Snicket in the Series of Unfortunate Events. Quote
Endgame Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Huh, I never noticed that in Quest 4 before. Not downright snarky or odd, but definitely among the most unique in all of Heroica. I'm trying to figure out how well it works in a Heroica setting, since a quest I am planning may have 9 different narrators... Quote
Brickdoctor Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Quest 4 was my trying to be more like an NPC than a GM. It was awkward and limiting for me and I think it was hard for other people to tell how I was speaking whenever I posted, which is why I used a more traditional GM/DM/QM style for Quest 17. Quote
Kintobor Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 I'm actually debating whether to have a first person narrator for 101. The quest giver is with the party for the entire quest, so I thought it might be fitting. Quote
Chromeknight Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 It was posted in the mechanics that AoE Shields only affect the section you're in. Yes. It wasn't a complain or fuss about any unclearness in the rules, just a wistful sigh that a good roll was effectively wasted. Quote
Flipz Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 (edited) Quest 4 was my trying to be more like an NPC than a GM. It was awkward and limiting for me and I think it was hard for other people to tell how I was speaking whenever I posted, which is why I used a more traditional GM/DM/QM style for Quest 17. I think that for players who've been around longer (and with warning that the QM would be doing so), the first-person narration wouldn't be so confusing. It was certainly one of the most interesting and immersive styles we've seen here so far. It also made a LOT of sense in a narrative fashion--Shawe reporting the events of the Quest to his superiors. It made the ending twist even more powerful. EDIT: @Pandora, I understand now why you went with Fire for Nyx. That element's a lot more useful than I previously gave it credit for.
