I'm waiting for Quest #105: third Repayment on the mortgage (Semi-detached fort)

With 102 quests it is getting hard to think of names... :look:

We've talked about having a ridiculously banal quest before, and I've got to say a mortgage payment one would be awesome.

Names like 'Debts' and 'Party' aren't helping either.

I am actually genuinely a huge fan of simple one word titles - both for quests and my own personal writing as well. There's something simple and fun about them, very direct, give a quick and exact frame to think in.

"Stuff Happens".

And the Weeping Inn from 84 return: Everyman-less, but still NPC filled.

Stuff Happens is how everyone should view every quest. Kurt Vonnegut has a great speech where he says, essentially, that "stuff happens" is just about the best story someone can write.

And as I said in PM, it looks beautiful! I'm glad a whole new generation of heroes can meet the mopey Justin Featherhead.

In which the heroes are hired to help someone repay their mortgage, so they go around bashing up monsters, and take all their loot, and sell it, and give the money to the NPC who hired them, and he spends the money paying off his mortgage. But then he doesn't have anything left to reward them with, so they blow him up with a bomb, and steal his Table of Arrow Immunity, which they then use to defeat shuriken-throwing Proggs who are trying to invade Strivvi?

Or Quest.

Reading along I was wondering when someone was going to suggest that. Then we can have nested numbers....

Quest #157 - Quest

Quest #158 - A New Quest

Quest #159 - The Quest Strikes Back

Quest #160 - Return of the Quest

Quest #161 - Quest II

Quest #167 - Quest IV(b)iii

Have enemies with 80 SP - seemingly coming from nowhere - really become necessary?

Not questioning your QMing/stats abilities, Scuba (you've had some tough battles before that in the end were balanced), but it really just surprises me to see how hard these battles are.

Scuba puts us through the gambit for sure. It's interesting to be flying by the seats of our pants every battle - especially since I know that I myself sometimes design some difficult battles. I wouldn't say no to an easy battle (especially since the challenging battles make it so that we only get about one battle a month) but it's certainly a fun challenge!

One hit kill without even using a turn.

-snip- it really just surprises me to see how hard these battles are.

I think it's fine. I'm dealing with some of the strongest heroes in the game! Skrall, Atramor and Ellaria I would all place in the top five of the most powerful heroes without doing any research whatsoever. (TFOTMPHWDARW) We'll see!

Skrall and Atramor probably are some of the most powerful (besides Guts of course), I'm not so sure about Ellaria though... (No offense Sandy!)

I think Ellaria's druid-healing is very, very powerful.

I'd argue Erdathcath is the stronger druid, purely because her Lucky Die equivalent.

Actually, minus their SP, their level and HP is pretty tame. Bottom line is that they are approachable - sure, you may take a hit or two, but you will always have some way to attack one of them without endangering the rest of the party or yourself badly. If they typematch well enough, they should be able to carve through 400 HP not too badly.

Yay, Lydia's back in #101. I was wondering if and when she'd pop up again.

I've said in the past that any character who the party keeps alive will live to see another quest. We haven't seen Lydia in a while and thought the inn seemed an appropriate place to see her. :classic:

Oh god. Hurricanes. :snicker:

Yes, Hurricanes are back. Tremble in fear.
