Palathadric Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 That doesn't make him any less powerful. The ability to use items without using a turn is extremely useful (it's one of the reasons I wanted to go Infiltrator). Plus creating items, plus gaining massive amounts of gold in combination with the Dancing Shoes, plus the Marketplace discount... not to mention Guts has the strongest weapon in the game. I'd say he's still close to the #1 strongest hero. Do Alchemists also get a discount in the Marketplace? I thought it was only Artisans. Quote
Palathadric Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 They get one on potions only. Just saw it now. Now I remember why I wanted to go alchemist at one point. Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 (edited) Soon...... http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Pyrovisionary/Heroica/img_0697.jpg EDIT: Holy sh - That needs a resize. So I finally got round to building sets Edited June 1, 2014 by Pandora Oversized image Quote
StickFig Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Guts buys 150 Potions.(150x5=750) 10 meads (10x15=150), 10 smelling salts,(10x25=250) 10 nostrum (10x35=350) and 4 phoenix essences (4x50=200) for a total cost of 1700. He then uses his Alchemist Guild of Invision Loyalty Card to receive 50% off and pays 850. (855-850=5) Now I remember why I wanted to go alchemist at one point. Hehehe, now we just need to get Guts to do all of our potion shopping for us. He can take a 10% commission and it'll still be a 40% discount on Marketplace prices.... Quote
Vash the Stampede Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Did Guts just buy more potions at once than everyone else has in their lifetimes put together in heroica? Hehehe, now we just need to get Guts to do all of our potion shopping for us. He can take a 10% commission and it'll still be a 40% discount on Marketplace prices.... I'm not going to lie, that sounds like a very good idea. Quote
Tachyon Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 They get one on potions only. Really ? I thought they get the discount for anything that is sold by Portia. Quote
Khorne Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 If I had to pick a list of strongest stat-wise characters, it'd include Guts, Atramor, Hoke, Docken, Namyrra, Tesni, Hybros, Erdathcath, and Eric. Maybe Sarge and Nyx would have spots on there too. Meh, I wouldn't really include Eric in that list. In my opinion, he's a higher level mediocre hero, but not really deserving of a spot in the A-list. I should've used the money I spent on upgrading the greatsword on my twin axe instead . Now that would've been something . With the "new" rules for thieving classes, it'll take ages before I can get that amount of money again to invest in the twin axe. Oh why did I chose to upgrade my roleplaying weapon instead of the more efficient one, stat-wise? Soon...... *snip* EDIT: Holy sh - That needs a resize. So I finally got round to building sets Yay, looks pirate-y Quote
Kintobor Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Really ? I thought they get the discount for anything that is sold by Portia. NERF IT! Quote
LordoftheNoobs Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Sorry, that's what I meant. Everything at the Potion Shack. Quote
Palathadric Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Go Guts!!! The potions may actually be useful for him. Since he can easily drink one every round without taking a turn to do so, it won't be as necessary for him to use Grand Potions and Health Cores. Potions are right up an Alchemist's alley. Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Yay, looks pirate-y Unfortunately this is my first quest, so doing something new will have to wait. Quote
CMP Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Funny, I was reading 96 today and wondered if you changed the Pheles Rod to a dagger with the intention of going Infiltrator. I even checked the class page and Atramor's stats to see how it'd work. Nothing like your absorby/tanky Regulator build, which is cool because of the variety, but definitely still deadly. I figure the damage output with the Tiger Claws is too high not to go for it - but I'll still have 14 Defense and the Pheles Kris for tanking when necessary. Quote

Palathadric Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Also the 4 roll. Well that's the only reason they trump Grand Potions. Quote
Pandora Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 EDIT: Holy sh - That needs a resize. So I finally got round to building sets It is too big. I've taken the image tags out for now (but the link is still there and thus the picture still visible as a link) until you get round to resizing it. Quote
Palathadric Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 So, Russel's got an upgraded Conspirator, eh? Would anyone from Quest 102 mind killing him off and giving my his artifacts. Quote
CMP Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 I always thought it was hilarious Russel got more use out of Conspirator than Atramor ever did. Quote
Palathadric Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 I'm glad to see that Alexis loans out quiver more readily these days...even to cannon-wielding folk. Quote
Chromeknight Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 I always thought it was hilarious Russel got more use out of Conspirator than Atramor ever did. It's the same weapon Nerwen (and Guts and Eric) took from Reno? I thought it was just a similar one based on it. What goes around comes around... Quote
CMP Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 It's the same weapon Nerwen (and Guts and Eric) took from Reno? I thought it was just a similar one based on it. What goes around comes around... No, but Russel had it for the duration of Quest 68. I guess he liked it enough to have a copy made. Quote
Palathadric Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Conspirator is currently owned by Sarge. It's being passed down by the Heroicans and no one seems to have a use for it. A shame really. I would have kept it if I weren't abandoning Paladin. Quote
Flipz Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 We need a listing of the more common "valuable items" (i.e. Scrap Metal) somewhere. Quote
