CMP Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 We need a listing of the more common "valuable items" (i.e. Scrap Metal) somewhere. It's on the rules page. Quote
Flipz Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 ... And here I thought all this time that the QMs were making the treasures up by themselves. Quote
The_Customizer Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 For those who actually follow quest 99 (all 1 of you probably) having Erdy immerse herself into the alternate personality will be really fun. Endgame, thanks for putting up a chance to do such, it will be fun! Quote
CMP Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Hellfire and Damnation (WP: 50, dual strike, deals damage to undead, daggers) Out of Tune Slidewhistle (WP: 1, instrument) Two different NPCs, same battle. I love how unexpected they can get. Quote
CMP Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 It's from one of the sidequest battles going on right now and I found the contrast between the two hilarious for some reason. Quote
Flipz Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) Oh, right. I'd...kinda forgotten that Quest existed. Edited June 2, 2014 by Flipz Quote
JimBee Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Hellfire and Damnation (WP: 50, dual strike, deals damage to undead, daggers) Out of Tune Slidewhistle (WP: 1, instrument) Two different NPCs, same battle. I love how unexpected they can get. Wouldn't mind getting my hands on those puppies, any chance we could loot the old man if he blew up? Also, whatever happened to Chauncey's Diamond Lamp of Summoning and Alchemist's Voucher from 72 in Guts' inventory? EDIT: And not to sound like I've been policing the stats thread (just checking into useful items, don't mind me ), but what happened to Thormanil's Fighting Boots (+10 melee power, suitable to QM's only)? They're completely removed from the final stats in 89, and stated as regular Marketplace Fighting Boots (+5 power on the front row) in swils' stats post. Quote
swils Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Yep, passed them off to Fabian and "inspired" him to come up with a new line of fashionable fighting footwear, as a result. Quote
Flipz Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Something I'm actually considering, though I'd prefer something more like Pretzel's shako in footwear form. Speaking of policing stats, how did Tangleweed D take 10 damage and be Blinded if it was KO'd? (And on a related note, doesn't Encouraged still affect Aim rolls?) Quote
Zepher Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 I believe Guts gave away the lamp as well without testing it out. Quote
Flipz Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) Speaking of Tidings gifts, I never properly thanked you for the cape, did I, Sandy? I was actually considering that cape for my Dragoon avatar, and the concept of an artifact that changes with reputation is brilliant--I'd really love to see more artifacts with that reputation mechanic in the future. JimBee Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Ah, forgot about those. Well those Fighter Boots sure are nice, so thanks swils. Speaking of policing stats, how did Tangleweed D take 10 damage and be Blinded if it was KO'd? (And on a related note, doesn't Encouraged still affect Aim rolls?) You're right on both accounts. I've autorolled and finished the battle in the Fields now. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) The Lamp I gave to Smaragda, knowing her penchant for golden artifacts. In return I got back the Beholder's Eye. (I got rid of that for a reason) The Voucher I send to the Masked Man. For which I got a potion in return. I generally got terrible things/luck during that event. Some people get the most overpowered items: Hey Guts, have a bomb. How I loathe some people's take to nivellation... Edited June 2, 2014 by Scubacarrot Quote
Zepher Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Don't worry, I'm determined for you to get one of those lamps one day! Quote
StickFig Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 It's XX! Someone with more history here than me want to provide a link to the appropriate quest to read up for him? StickFig Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Dastan Trilogy (esp. Quest 30), and ESPECIALLY Quest 53. I had skimmed ...ish the Dastan quests before but that's a lot a material so I missed XX. I'm about halfway through 30 now and really regretting that I didn't stumble onto EB and Heroica early enough to have been a part of all that. I'm picking up on a lot of rules that have changed, too.... I'll read Quest 53 after I finish 30. Quote
CMP Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 The Voucher I send to the Masked Man. For which I got a potion in return. I tried giving you a cool artifact. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) A 1 in 3 chance of a double mixture upon a shield roll I didn't deem very good. I figured, Guts gets to meet a veteran alchemist that has better stuff to give out at some point, right? I was promised special alchemist stuff in Quest 72, so the potion was kind of disappointing. But oh well. That's what you get for writing a letter to a robot/ghost/not-real-person. What I really wanted was the Tome Madame Ladybug had in Quest 72, haha. (Basically it meant that no mixtures with a 1 in it could be rolled, so Shield Rolls would have better stuff. And no explosions) Edited June 2, 2014 by Scubacarrot Quote
