JimBee Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 It'll be after my Shadeux quest, and it will be part three of the Haerasias Vault Arc. Plus, it's planned to take place in West Baltarok, so it'll be different in politics from the trilogy. So... probably during Endgame's finale... As far as I remember, the clans in the Baltorak trilogy included all of Baltarok. And if not, why change anything? Connections between quests are a big reason why this game is so fun, why not incorporate what's already been done by other QMs (i.e. NPCs)? OoC: I'd assume that means that yes, she has 8 grand potions, I've only copied stats of other people's! So I'll fix that. And I'd imagine that the it would not be affected by lucky/jinxed - shield skills never are (assassinations, for example, remain a 1/6 chance even when lucky, and I know that's how Sandy would rule for the Alchemist skill as well). Pigley also, as noted, does not count as an artifact for obvious reasons in that he is a living creature. It's is like your horse from 88, but it is much easier to list him where he is than below. Actually, this SHIELD skill is run with the lucky- and jinxed-effects. It's unusual, but it's in the rules. Quote

The Broken Tribes haven't been expanded upon, besides just being there. Sure some NPCs from the trilogy will be there, but their not the focus. I pictured the Broken Tribes to have a very different political scene then the clans in the East. If one of the Baltarok Trilogy QMs has an input on the situation, though, it'd be appreciated. Quote
Zepher Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Oh, thank you JimBee! Didn't realize - it is rather peculiar, but thank you! So yes, Chrome, it will be run the way it says in the rules. And that's Pie's end of things, so I'll let him weigh in! Quote
CMP Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 The Broken Tribes are the warring remnants of old Baltarok that kept to the old ways rather than having to consolidate in order to survive. Me and Kint already talked about it a bit. Quote
Khorne Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 For some reason, that vending machine from #93 reminds me of those vending machines in Bioshock where you could buy EVE or ADAM (or it least that's how I vaguely remember it, don't really know for sure anymore how it was). Quote
Duvors Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I suddenly feel that an apology for my latest post is necessary. Quote

The Circus of Values. Or the Gene Bank or Gardner's Garden. A lot of vending machines in that game. Quote

Kintobor Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 The Circus of Values. Or the Gene Bank or Gardner's Garden. A lot of vending machines in that game. Also a lot of really questionable ethics. I've always wondered: is Eubric running on the same economic system as Rapture? There's no real government, and everyone in power is more or less for the progression of Eubric's economy in some way, shape or form... Quote

Circus of Values, but it's the Gene Bank I was thinking about . It's been aaaaages since I last laid an eye upon that game, so my memory of it is really, really vague . Quote
Kintobor Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I suddenly feel that an apology for my latest post is necessary. I wouldn't say it was a fluke, I generally give some sort of advantage for spur of the moment actions. It might come at a cost, but it never hurts to try. Usually. Quote

They're an integral part of BioShock's economic system. Quote

Ah, I didn't realize there was that small faction. And I was just suggesting that you build on what's already been established, which is what it sounds like you're doing a bit. I like quests that expand upon the knowledge of Olegaia and its people - and there are still a lot of places left unexplored! Ombracia on the Fang Coast, for example, there's a cool quest idea. Quote
Sandy Posted June 4, 2014 Author Posted June 4, 2014 I suddenly feel that an apology for my latest post is necessary. You can always use the edit-button. It depends on the QM, some are more accepting of impromptu actions than others. Impromptu actions, yes, but not declaring the results of such actions. I usually have a short pause before a battle even if it is inevitable to give the players chance to prepare themselves. The battle mechanics are there for a reason, remember. Quote

If you read his post, you'll see that it is a conditional action, i.e. "if it hit". I'll concede it's not a very good conditional action as it attempts to provide a result of his conditional action "would wrap...killing him", but it is conditional and available to QM interpretation. Waterbrick Down Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I've edited my post, is it acceptable now? You're still dictating the result, i.e. killing or maiming. We know you want the best result possible from your action, but leave it up to the QM to decide and just say that Throlar "attempts" to wrap the ball and chain around the enemy's head. Then you'll be golden. Quote

As far as "trying to injure him" I think we all know what you're attempting when you said Throlar flung the mace and chain at his head. Edited June 4, 2014 by Waterbrick Down Quote
