Actaeon Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Oh it's a geo caching thing, I get it now, thanks. I got super excited until I realized it was only in the LEGO universe game Quote
Flipz Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 I got super excited until I realized it was only in the LEGO universe game No, it was a real-world event done to promote the game; seven LEGO-related locations we were chosen, and the first person there who spoke to the official won the prize--thus, why I have a unique real minifig face for my character. Palathadric Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 I think Pretzel's head has been used surprisingly infrequently in Heroica considering how it appeared in quite a number of sets. I actually really like the head, and Pretzel hardly does it justice...perhaps a more kindly monk. Quote
Scorpiox Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 We get the odd Haldor lookalike now and again, perhaps his father was a bit of a goer back in the day. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Regarding the maps, I'm with Bricksandparts in that I prefer the non-colored or very subtly-colored map, though for a different reason. I don't really think the colored maps make it look like things are too explored, but I think they're a little harder to read, and I like the somewhat more authentic look of the Photoshopped parchment background. Interesting perspective. I can make it the same style as the original map, if that is what people prefer. I see what your saying, but I probably wont change it to the other style unless Sandy states a preference. Quote

Your map looks beautiful, but I agree with Brickdoctor - the old map is clearer and more in-line with the general aesthetic theme of the game. There's really no point in you making a similar map, though. But if you stick around and get deeper into the game, you can host quests in yet unexplored realms and make maps for them all by yourself. Alright, I actually already did though I just had to switch a few colors around, took like 10 minutes. Here it is if you want it. If not, that's fine too. Quote

Bricksandparts Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Wait if you are hastened and receive multiple free-hits they will be spread out to be protected against with shield power right? Quote
Palathadric Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 You will receive the normal free hit damage, I think. All the free hits added up, minus your defence. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 If that's the case, I think players should discuss it, because it doesn't seem to make sense. If you are hastened, you'd be able to block more hits, so I think the damage taken should be the sum of the incoming damage minus 2 times the defenses. Any thoughts? Quote

Bricksandparts Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 This game really makes you view player's gender as their character's gender... Now once we get a level 50 hero that can have 2 characters things will get interesting Quote

I considered using a troll for my character, but I wasn't sure if that was allowed! I might change my character up since I am yet to actually use him. He seems rather generic as of now; simple but stealthy ranger. Quote

Keep playing and I'm sure you can fins the perfect secondary character. You're doing great role-playing so far, keep it up! Quote

Of course, some players joined later than others (like myself!), so it depends on the quests you go on and how frequent you play. We've got an ogre. Trolls would be doable, but tricky. You'd have to make him not some lumbering brute and an actual character. I personally have a bit of a distaste for scrapping a character this early. We've got enough stealthy rangers around here, but the important thing is this: they all moved past that trope. If you want your character to stand out, it's how he acts and what he says, not his race or the parts you use or his class, although they do help slightly. Edited June 10, 2014 by Kintobor Quote
