Actaeon Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 We've got an ogre. Trolls would be doable, but tricky. You'd have to make him not some lumbering brute and an actual character. I personally have a bit of a distaste for scrapping a character this early. We've got enough stealthy rangers around here, but the important thing is this: they all moved past that trope. If you want your character to stand out, it's how he acts and what he says, not his race or the parts you use or his class, although they do help slightly. Thanks for the input. I don't think I'll scrap him. Honestly, I love the way he acts right now. Quiet for the most part, but adds in a ridiculous pun occasionally. I think I'll visit the "theater" thread before I decide to change the parts or not. Quote

Masked Builder Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 No one has reached 50 yet? I've noticed a few in the high 30s, is that the highest? I'm close. I think the highest level in the game right now. (Level 44.6) Quote
Cutcobra Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 (edited) I think someone is at level 40 already, but can't get the Veteran job class because he diidn't complete 10 quests. EDIT: I now see it is you, Masked. Edited June 10, 2014 by Cutcobra Quote
Bricksandparts Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Who else is past 40? There's Alexis and Benji, and I'm sure there are a few more. Quote
Masked Builder Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Althior is level 39. (According to his Hero Stats page) Edit: Check that, his level 40+ now. Quote

I do like the figure, and I do want to see where you're character and his snarky puns go from here. After reading a good portion of the theater intro, I think I'm keeping him. I figure as I level up and buy armor or other things, I will end up changing the figure up some anyhow. I don't even know how I got to Actaeon being a "pun type of guy". I think originally I was going to make him a serious bad-A, but then I though "heck, my characters are always overly serious, I'll change it up at least a little" I'm close. I think the highest level in the game right now. (Level 44.6) Dang! How long have you been in the game? How many quests is that? Do you think you'll end up making a second character? Quote
Bricksandparts Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Dang! How long have you been in the game? How many quests is that? Do you think you'll end up making a second character? Short answer is this: Medal of Glory - (suitable for anyone, wearer gains triple experience from battles, accessory, Fields of Glory) Quote

It's nice contrast. Quote
Masked Builder Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Dang! How long have you been in the game? How many quests is that? Do you think you'll end up making a second character? I joined on day one and have been pretty active every since. I'm on my tenth quest right now with two trips into the fields. I was also the first hero at level 15 and level 30. I did have a second character planned at one point, though I don't know if I want to use the one I had, make a new one, or get one at all. Quote

That's crazy! If you get a second character, are they allowed to go on the same quest with your main character? There's some good stuff in there, I should reread that too. I didn't even think of half of the stuff in there. It gave me a ton ideas. It also turns out, I didn't have too many cliche plans for my character. Admittedly, I did have some that will have to be scratched. I also learned that characters can have relationships between each other. I think that my character will interact with people and have relationships in that way, but I will more than likely avoid any relationships beyond that. I might have 1 or 2 in the back story, but that will probably be it. Short answer is this: Meddal of Glory - (suitable for anyone, wearer gains triple experience from battles, accessory, Fields of Glory) Oh wow. I need to go through and re-read all the elements and artifacts. I scanned over them the first time, but that probably isn't enough. Quote

At this point, the two mentioned there have fallen apart. A withdrawal from the previous post: Althior was the first hero at level 30. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 The experience system is somewhat exponential, in that as the game goes on more and more players become equally powerful, however it does mean that it can and probably will take the average player 4-5 years before they gain access to another character. Masked Builder Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 That's fine with me. It seems a bit... weird or even awkward. K-Nutty and I had been Pm'ing for a long time an we were both comfortable with it. They fell apart for Roleplay reasons. Quote

Oh wow. That's longer than I expected! Still, that means the game is open for long term. That's good I also just looked at the first quest to be done. It made me even more exited to get started on a quest K-Nutty and I had been Pm'ing for a long time an we were both comfortable with it. They fell apart for Roleplay reasons. I suppose if both players have a decent amount of Roleplaying experience, it wouldn't be as bad. Quote
Masked Builder Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 I suppose if both players have a decent amount of Roleplaying experience, it wouldn't be as bad. And we had become friends. Quote
K-Nut Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 I suppose if both players have a decent amount of Roleplaying experience, it wouldn't be as bad. That was actually really early in the game if memory serves correctly. I don't even remember why it happened in the first place. Quote
Masked Builder Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 That was actually really early in the game if memory serves correctly. I don't even remember why it happened in the first place. Yeah, it's on page like 130 in the hall. Quote
Actaeon Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 And we had become friends. Yet another reason it is less weird. That was actually really early in the game if memory serves correctly. I don't even remember why it happened in the first place. What about people with a "significant other" that is an NPC?? Quote
K-Nut Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 What about people with a "significant other" that is an NPC?? That could probably work. I know Skrall has/had a wife at one point, but she was never introduced to the game. Arthur had some backstory at one point with an on again/off again significant other through his backstory. I think she came to Eubric once. I haven't done it, but I know some people have. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Yet another reason it is less weird. What about people with a "significant other" that is an NPC?? Depends on whether it's your own NPC or someone else's. Skrall's wife is more of a backstory NPC and never interacts with him. Tarn and Ella are an example of a PC and a QM controlled NPC relationship, Nyx (PC) and XX (QM controlled NPC) are another. Quote

Tarn and Ella are an example of a PC and a QM controlled NPC relationship, Nyx (PC) and XX (QM controlled NPC) are another. It would be my own NPC. I doubt I would ever actually introduce her to the current story ever, at least not until I do a quest of my own (which will be a while). Quote
