Zepher Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 All damage in battles is halved for the back-row, unless otherwise specified by the special attack. Quote
Jebediahs Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 But what if I get KOed because of it? Tough sh**! Mirror battle progressed a couple rounds without every members' input resulting in some KO's. Deal with it. I'll revive you with a phoenix essence if it happens... Quote
Bricksandparts Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 (edited) Tough sh**! Mirror battle progressed a couple rounds without every members' input resulting in some KO's. Deal with it. I'll revive you with a phoenix essence if it happens... Somehow I'm not convinced... I wonder what the QM does if the party decided to... lets just say, beat up on the PL? Sandy, why isn't my quest in the Library? Edited January 4, 2012 by Bricksandparts Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Sandy, why isn't my quest in the Library? Your Quest is still listed under Closed Quests in the Hall. Sandy just got back from Italy and probably hasn't had time to update everything. Quote
Sandy Posted January 4, 2012 Author Posted January 4, 2012 Okay, answer time! 1) The Evoker's spirit cannot be attacked by monsters, since it doesn't even have a health stat. Free Hits should not be aimed at the spirit, either. 2) If the QM wants an enemy's attack to deal normal damage to back row as well, it should be mentioned out of fairness to the players. 3) I will move the on-going quests from Heroica Hall to the archives of the Library topic when I have time. Patience, please! (Edit: Done!) Quote
JimBee Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Thanks Sandy. So any free hits should be directed to whoever is next in the battle order, right? Quote
Sandy Posted January 4, 2012 Author Posted January 4, 2012 Thanks Sandy. So any free hits should be directed to whoever is next in the battle order, right? Yes. The summoned spirits were never meant to be meat shields, that's why there's skeleton decoys. Quote
K-Nut Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 (edited) Uhhm, Bricksandparts, if the Ice commando has 0/350 health, shouldn't the battle be over? EDIT: Ahh! I see the warrior under there, but you should take the commando off the list if it's defeated. Edited January 4, 2012 by K-nut Quote
Peppermint_M Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Oh woe, I miss my Frenzy that was my favourite bit of being a barbarian. Anywho, I really need to catch up on the monster dex, you guys just keep on making so many cool and interesting enemies! Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Yer telling me, having my attack encouraged for the rest of the battle is fine and dandy, but what I wouldn't have gave for one of your frenzies during the first battle. Quote
Flipz Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 monster dex Heh heh heh, you just gave me an idea for my Quest concept... Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 I would just like to say I am enjoying reading ALL the current quests. I will always think Quest 4 was The Best! Quote
Flipz Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Hahaha, sign me in. Noted. And JediAnakin, I really liked the twists and turns of Quest 4 as well. The Shadeaux need more face time, and not just as end-of-Quest bosses and cameo NPCs, too. Actually, I'd LOVE to see the Shadeaux face off against Wren...but I'll leave that to Zepher. (Hmm, maybe Doc and Zepher should co-host a Quest, that would be epic and awesome.) Quote
Sandy Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 Actually, I'd LOVE to see the Shadeaux face off against Wren... How about Abraxas versus Wren? Sure, let's leave all the epic battles to the NPCs. You guys can just continue killing scorpions and monkeys. Quote
Flipz Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Sure, let's leave all the epic battles to the NPCs. You guys can just continue killing scorpions and monkeys. I am suddenly reminded of Irregular Webcomic!... And anyway, it's all the same loot and EXP, yes? Isn't that all we care about as Heroes?? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 And anyway, it's all the same loot and EXP, yes? Isn't that all we care about as Heroes?? Monkeys and Scorpions make getting XP easier, but I think it goes without saying that the general rule of thumb is that the more epic the enemies, the more epic the loot. K-Nut Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Sure, let's leave all the epic battles to the NPCs. You guys can just continue killing scorpions and monkeys. Don't forget Doggies! Quote
Flipz Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 (edited) ["Thothwick, I was just doodling on the map, and I made this pattern. The red X's are areas Cinna has dung in yet, whereas the black ones are where something has been unearthed. Would you mind showing her this map, and asking here to dig in those locations."] Thothwick explains Hopets idea, and shows Cinna the map: Heh heh heh, I'd just finished a map I sent to Darkdragon: EDIT: Upon looking at your map, I see we've suggested different spots. I suggest A4 and B6, while you suggest A5 and B7. You also suggst A9, which I feel wouldn't be as likely as D8 or D9. You haven't found anything on the D row yet, after all... JimBee Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Heh heh heh, you just gave me an idea for my Quest concept... Gotta catch 'em all? Quote
Flipz Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Gotta catch 'em all? Not as the main quest, but sort of... One thing I should mention is, my Quest concept has a substantial number of side-quests involved. Once it's ready, gets approved, and is finished by the players, I'd estimate I'll only have used about 40-60% of the material I'll have prepared for it, depending on what choices the players make and how clever/successful they are with the side-quests they take on. Tanma Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Sure, let's leave all the epic battles to the NPCs. You guys can just continue killing scorpions and monkeys. To be fair, some species of Earth Monkeys are capable of concept of self and crafting tools, both old world and new world. And that isn't even going into their kin the apes. Of the apes Chimapnzees can plan ahead, plot revenge, lie, craft and use spears, have a form of currency(meat), understand English if exposed at a young enough age, go to war, and have been using stone tools for at least four thousand years. A group of heroes could totally underestimate them and get slaughtered. And there is even a species of ape that has the weaponry to destroy the earth multiple times, has been to the moon, and invented Legoes. Primates are clearly the most dangerous foe you can encounter.
