Sandy Posted June 22, 2014 Author Posted June 22, 2014 Agreed, whoever is in quest 100 should just buy a million grating stones and sell them all to me. to other heroes who aren't in the quest. You could make serious gold off of that. Except nobody in the quest has a hundred million gold. Quote
Flipz Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Phoenix Essences can't be used on undead. I remember because on 44, I pointed out that all they had to do was kill Sycamore and the Pheles Rod and throw an Incense at the enemies and the battle would have been pretty much over. Quote
Endgame Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 (edited) Didn't we instakill the reaper in 93 with a Phoenix Essence? Was he undead, or was that a one off puzzle thing? Edited June 22, 2014 by Endgame Quote
Sandy Posted June 22, 2014 Author Posted June 22, 2014 I don't see it either, to be honest. I generally don't do anything for my undead, besides maybe immune to poison and bleeding. A zombie can be killed with decapitation. A skeleton can be crushed to death. A mummy lit on fire. I don't see the correlation myself. I guess the point is that "assassination" means hitting the target to it's vitals, and the undead don't really have vitals, so there. But it isn't by any means required that undead are immune to sudden death. Especially after High Cleric's Shield-skill was introduced. It was ruled Health Cores do 50 damage. I don't know if a ruling was made regarding Phoenix Essences, but I think it would work the same way. I don't remember what the hell I've ruled anymore. But maybe Phoenix Essences should instantly kill an undead enemy unless it is immune to sudden death. I go back and forth with this issue in my mind. Quote
Flipz Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Why is nobody in Q100 asking for Adamantium? It'd be something like, 5,000 gold, but still. Could someone please actually do this? I'd like to see the canonical value for Adamantium so that, in turn, the value of a Shard can be calculated. (I mean, it could be argued that since Mythril is worth 1,000 Gold [Fields of Glory price] and it grants +10, Adamantium would be worth 2,500 since it grants +25, but official numbers are obviously preferable.) Flipz Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Didn't we instakill the repaer in 93 with a Phoenix Essence? Was he undead, or was that a one off puzzle thing? That thing wasn't undead, though, it was just immune to damage entirely; I'm pretty sure it was a puzzle. Quote
Sandy Posted June 22, 2014 Author Posted June 22, 2014 I'd like to see the canonical value for Adamantium so that, in turn, the value of a Shard can be calculated. I love how me pulling a number out of my megablocks makes it canonical. Quote
Endgame Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 I love how me pulling a number out of my megablocks makes it canonical. Set it at 10 gold, watch anarchy erupt. "When everythig is adamantite... Nothing is!" Quote
Flipz Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 I love how me pulling a number out of my megablocks makes it canonical. This is quite possibly the best representation of divinity possible in any context. Quote
JimBee Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Oh I see. I do nothing of the sort. I thought maybe it was the fact that Phoenix Essences could insta-kill an undead monster (can they, actually?). Yeah. I think when it was brought up in 98, Sandy said he liked to pair undead with immune to OHKO because it removed a lot of the confusion with items and healing abilities. Phoenix Essence = Instakill on undead unless immune, I'm pretty sure it says so somewhere in the Rules page. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 (edited) This is for all the QM's who have ever designed a "boss fight" and for all the PC's who have had to face one. Edited June 23, 2014 by Waterbrick Down Quote
CMP Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 This is for all the QM's who have ever designed a "boss fight" and for all the PC's who have had to face one. Yeah, you'd figure with all the half-dead contingencies bosses have they would just be stabbing themselves constantly and just be complete badasses all the time. Quote
Endgame Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 (edited) If you think two phase final bosses are ridiculous, meet Queen Sectonia... Between all of her forms and iterations, Sectonia has: -3 different physical forms (2 of which that have recolors, bumping the number up to a technical 5) -Is fought a minimum of 3 times consecutively whenever faced -Has four different boss themes -Between all of her iterations, has 16 phases. Yeah, it's a little nuts. Edited June 23, 2014 by Endgame Quote
Actaeon Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 4 - 6 Heroes. The number of Heroes a Quest is designed for is listed in the "party requirements" section of the Quest posting in the first post of the Heroica Hall topic. Right. I knew that. Quote
JimBee Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 QM Note: I don't want to put a price on such an item, since Flipz would think it's canonical and find someway to abuse what I said ( ), so I hope we can just agree that you couldn't afford it. Plus, Zoot's Plaything isn't a consumable item. Quote
Jebediahs Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Plus, Zoot's Plaything isn't a consumable item. Yes it is. It's even listed as such in various player stat posts and the Treasury. Quote

Duvors Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Phoenix Essence = Instakill on undead unless immune, I'm pretty sure it says so somewhere in the Rules page. Acctually, no. It does not work like that. At all. Ever. Quote
JimBee Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Yes it is. It's even listed as such in various player stat posts and the Treasury. It's a weapon, right? Not a consumable. Acctually, no. It does not work like that. At all. Ever. You're right, except you're wrong. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 It's a weapon, right? Not a consumable. It's a consumable that makes a weapon when consumed. Quote
LordoftheNoobs Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I just realised that one of the NPCs in #96 is named Maxis. Does that mean he'll give the heroes some more Sims 4 info? Quote
Myrddyn Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Shouldn't you have waited for everyone to put their input in, then, instead of moving things along before everything was confirmed? Well, I did post Erik moving along, just that happened before it was suggested that Erik lend Hugin the Twin Axe. I really should have posted a conditional action for Erik to give out weapons as suggested. But the doors are demonic, so it wouldn't actually do anything this battle anyway. Quote
Kintobor Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 CallMePie, I don't believe the new minstrel rules have been set in place yet. Quote
Sandy Posted June 24, 2014 Author Posted June 24, 2014 CallMePie, I don't believe the new minstrel rules have been set in place yet. I am fine with using the new way the Battle Songs work, if the general consensus is that it's better that way. I just need to update the rules accordingly. Quote
