For me (as a player, for strategizing), it's better for me to be able to see at a glance what something does more than where it can be equipped; I want to be able to, for example, quickly look at the party's stats and add up the maximum amount of SP we own before taking a closer look in detail to see how to divide it up, or similarly for Artifacts that grant abilities rather than stats (i.e. the ability to Jinx via the Scarf of Misfortune or the ability to sometimes dodge damage and Free Hits from the Tunic of the Elven Acrobat) I'd want to know what I could get my party members to do before I figure out what combos I can get them to do them in.

For weapons, speaking as someone who's run battle rounds it's MASSIVELY important to see what something's WP is first and foremost; if a player says they're attacking with a weapon that's not their strongest one and lands a hit, I need to know a.)how that's affecting the amount of damage they're putting out, and b.)what else it's doing to that enemy. Weapon type (which IS suitability as far as weapons go) is almost an afterthought; after all, if a Hero's carrying something they can't use it's easy enough to display it in a different color or strikethrough to let me and them know that using it is not an option. (Most QMs use strikethrough specifically for throwing weapons that have already been thrown, while some just leave it to the player to keep track of; I prefer QM tracking, just for both our sanities.) WP->elements (the factors that affect damage dealt)->effects (the things it's doing to the enemy)->weapon type (which you basically look at at the start of the Quest or when the weapon is handed off to someone else, deal with, and then ignore until the situation changes).

I'll probably be interested in buying your heavy armour after #93, Flipz. Have you got a price in mind? Erik doesn't actually have any money at all at the moment, but he'll probably have some soon.

I'd also be interested to know how much Alexis wants for Magnar's Smaller Axe, though I'm guessing it won't make an already dual-strikingweapon hit four times. :hmpf_bad::grin: Plus I'm already switching artifacts around a lot, so I don't know if I want to buy another one. And Guts can use it, and Erik will never be able to outbid him.

I'm happy with the Marketplace sell price of 115 Gold. I usually am that way about selling Marketplace-available stuff--I'm not looking for extra money, I'd just rather sell to another player so the Gold stays within the player pool rather than vanishing into the pockets of the Marketplace merchants.

...as a player...

Heh, the first thing I look at for strategizing like that is suitability - who can wear/wield which pieces of gear the party is carrying? Once I have established what stuff each character is capable of using, then I can weigh the benefits of each piece, by slot.

...as someone who's run battle rounds a QM...

There, I fixed that for you.

I suppose I'm just not at the experience level (no pun intended, and I mean me as the player not my character) where the "game" aspects require as much focus for me as the RP/storytelling portions. Maybe to make things easier on the QMs I'll reformat Matthias' inventory next time I update it.

P.S. - As an addendum, I think that when I look at someone's inventory, it's usually easiest to find the bits of information listed first and last about weapons and artifacts because the parentheses break up the text, and WP:? is pretty easy to find since it's a solid block. Just my $0.02.

You know you could all avoid this entire bit by keeping your inventory's smaller by just getting rid of stuff even if it's not necessarily the absolutely most profitable at the time.

Everyone, as a show of selflessness, Matthias will accept the burden of owning any and all manner of items your characters decide are taking up too much text in their inventories. :poke:

Well, you know, there might always be an evil QM who asks you to give up a few artifacts (or some such thing) from your inventory, :look: and in those cases it's a good idea to have a pile of junk with you.

But you never know what you might need!

*snip*

I had to. :poke:

Well that took an unreasonable number of tries to get it to work right.

In all seriousness, though, I really like what I see. Was 102 originally intended to cross over with 101?

Actually, no! I had asked Zepher if I could use the Weeping Inn as a means to get the newer players more immersed in the world an be able to talk to NPC's who could tell them how the world sort of operated. Zepher then asked if I wanted to guest host since he intended to use the Weeping Inn but took it down after 84. Thus, I agreed to guest star! :classic:

Observe, as the man-who-sucks-at-French-accents covers his tracks by spending an hour on the post and by not having the French-accented character talk a lot.

Also, I'll hold off on QM lounge comments until someone else posts in the topic, I don't want to double-post unless I have to.

Lolth? Why is Lolth in...

KINTOOOOBOOOORRRRR!

I'm glad someone got the reference!

Don't worry too much, she's not the Lolth. That would be too sadistic, even for my tastes.

I also have a LOT to say about 99 - but I want to let someone else post first.

And Kinto, if we run things realllllly quickly, maybe we can get it done before Sandy gets back and has the chance to be mad at us.

You know, that's a REALLY nice build for a starting Sage, even better than the one I helped you brainstorm a while back.

I don't think that Sandy will get mad at you... A while ago i was planning to do a co-hosted quest and Sandy was totally cool with it, even though it was something that had not been done before.
