UsernameMDM Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Does anyone know if the new minifig scale Hero Factory armor will fit on a normal minifig with the knight helmet/visor combo? http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=15339&in=M Quote
K-Nut Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 I would guess it does. It looks like there's a large enough gap for the helmet to be placed on. Getting the visor to be able to flip back, however, I'm not entirely sure. Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 (edited) Why? H for Hoke? Haha anyways I think it would. It certainly looks big enough. If you have the CMF Space marine or armored alien guy, you could test with those armor pieces because they look sort of similar with the bulky body and large shoulders and the similar properties. You can take the H off as it's a 1x1 round tile. Would be need to put a pearl silver/gold 1x1 round tile for decoration. OR, like I want to do with Hoke's shield, put a trans-(insert appropriate color here) 1x1 round tile if there is an imbued elemental gem for immunities Quote
Khorne Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Are you sure they are indeed armor? They kind of look like actual torsos molded that way. Then, on the other hand, I know nothing of Hero Factory or Bionicle, though, so I could very well be mistaken .. Quote

Kintobor Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Mucking around LDD, the armour does fit over a normal figure, but none of the helmet's with visors fit on the head. Quote

To be perfectly fair, though, not even capes fit right on mnifigs in LDD - you'd almost have to do it physically if you want accurate results. Quote

JimBee Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Good choice for the armor, MDM. A while ago you posted all of Hoke's appearances side by side - it was neat to see his transformation from a simple knight in peasant's clothes to a heavily-armored flag-bearer. The full-body armor is even the right color. One thing to note though, is that shields can't be imbued with gems or scrolls. On another note, I'm really liking the fortune teller in 102. The interactions with her seem authentic, as in the QM's knowledge of the character's past/present/future isn't too obvious through the teller, while still having the fortunes be helpful and entertaining. Nerwen's dream is especially intriguing. I seem to remember Nerwen talking to a priestess from Quest 44 about her dreams, is this a continuation of that? And are the dreams your own creation, CK, or something a QM passed onto you? Either way, this, too, seems authentic. Quote
Sandy Posted June 30, 2014 Author Posted June 30, 2014 I'm back at my own computer, everyone! I'm really sorry for not announcing my trip beforehand, but I honestly thought I would've had a wireless connection at where I was staying. These things happen... But the quests will continue their normal updates now! Quote

Hopefully, it will work with the visor-ed helmet or a samurai helmet. And that is what I was going for with Hoke: humble origins/newb to grizzled veteran. Gems, yes, scrolls, no. Found that out the 'hard' way. Quote

Purpearl's and Nerwen's were randomly done, but Purpearl's had less QM interfering. I ran through a few different pulls with Nerwen's until I got one I felt was authentic and complimented the character nicely. Quote

I'm 90% certain that the samurai helmet won't work, based on my experiments with the CMF space marine armor. You should probably quit mucking around and start Quest 103 already. Nono, quit mucking around and get those last couple sets done for my Quest. Quote

I went back and reread it myself, then passed the link to Kintobor. In #44 I said Nerwen had a dream but left it to Sandy to say what the dream was. This time I gave the dream myself. Should be fairly easy to work out who the man at the other end of the bridge is, the cloaked figure is there as a hint that there is more going on for Nerwen than just that relationship... Quote
Myrddyn Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 OoC: So the plan is to chip away at their HP until the number adds up nicely for some of your undead, Quarry? Yeah, I was wondering why you guys hadn't killed them precisely with the undead, but then I noticed they're Plant/Demon type, so they can't be damaged by the undead darkness attacks. Kintobor, do you read Tarot cards as a hobby or something, or are you getting this off a website? It seems really good. Quote
Kintobor Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Kintobor, do you read Tarot cards as a hobby or something, or are you getting this off a website? It seems really good. I at one point dabbled in tarot's, and I know the meanings of most of the cards, but I've seen misplaced the set I used so I used an online card generator which also gave their meanings. It was a good refresher for me at least. Quote
Zepher Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 I've done tarot before, but only for people I know. It's a hell of a lot of fun - it's essentially just story telling - weaving together things. I'm not shocked Kinto is good at it. Also, I advise other QMs to have host QMs, it's really nice to have a few days off, I already feel re-energized to host the next parts of the quest. Quote
