Just a fair warning, for some strange reason I'm having trouble accessing Eurobricks, on both mobile and desktop. Rebooting the modem seems to have allowed me to actually load pages again, but now a whole bunch of images are refusing to load.

Bottom line, if I don't respond to something, that's probably the reason. :sceptic:

Flipz, in your quest, there will be any possibility of Shadeux reputation? :classic:

No, he won't be giving away any Shadeux rep on the quest that has the leader of that very family as one of the employers. :sarcasm:

I don't take it for granted and I prefer to ask :classic:

Yes, provided that Noctus Shadeaux is satisfied with your work. (It's possible, though unlikely, for the Heroes to technically succeed in the Quest, but in a way that leaves Count Shadeaux very unhappy.)

Also, it's good to see a bunch of the Quest 66 crew becoming more active again! Maybe Shoker and Professor Flitwick will reappear as well. :sweet:

Has any QM had an instance in a quest where a PC needed to use a tool from the Marketplace to succeed (besides a bedroll to regain HP & Ether)?

Need? I don't think so. What if the PC just didn't have it?

Then you drop it/offer it in a shop earlier on in the Quest. :shrug_confused:

I've tried to put some situations to my quests where having a specific tool is the quickest solution to a threshold. Entering the Ruins of Transmogria in Quest#100 is one of the most recent examples.

Many tools are interchangeable with certain job traits, though.

I wondered this exact same thing when I first visited the market. I just hope that someone else on the quest has one, because all I could afford was a bedroll ;)

That smacks of railroading and is highly unrealistic.

Not if it's done smartly. For example, the Heroes are exploring a haunted mine, and have to fight off a number of undead miners, who drop Pickaxes. Later on, there's a cave-in, and the Heroes have to use their Pickaxes to dig their way out. Obviously there's other solutions (a Mage's spellcasting, for example, which is probably the most versatile Job Trait depending on the gems carried), but I see nothing wrong with it. Heck, it's possible to use drops and/or shop items as foreshadowing--not everything is a clue as to what happens next, but some of them might be.

Obviously that's not the best example, but it's the best one I could think up on short notice.

Pull a Gerudo Desert/Lost Woods on the party, requiring a compilation of hints from previous npcs, or a compass to guide the proper path, else they (unannounced/subtlely (sp?) ) get sent to square one each time they stray from the pathNPC along the way tries to sell them trinkets and things, among them a Magic Compass. As the party leaves, the NPC calls after them, letting them know that he'll still be there when they are tired of getting lost. Eventually party comes back to buy a compass.

If you want to be really generous, hide an npc up ahead who has some reason to buy back that compass from them.

It's only unrealistic if you're not creative with it. /shrug

Lore question: the Moon Elf Kingdom of Mertution originally worshipped Mercutio before King Haeresias consorted with Lucifuge and Sorceress Ambergaze, correct? Does that mean the modern-day Cult of Mercutio is descended from Mercutio-worshippers from that time who chose to flee rather than embrace darkness and demons?

Probably not, I'd place any such order in Moone where all the Moon elves went, and there wouldn't be just one cult, Just because the Paladin Order of Ennoc is the most prominent organization that pays homage to that particular deity doesn't mean that it's the only one, and I'd imagine it would be the same with Mercuto.

I don't think it's as straightforward as that. Mercution was the center of Mercutio's worship, but the god was probably quite different for the elves that lived 1000 years ago than to the merchants and thieves of contemporary Eubric. Only a handful of Moon Elves survived the demon raid and the following flood caused by the wizard-priests of Ennon, but they weren't the only ones familiar with the Moon God.

So yeah, I think the settlers of Uland took the myths of Mercutio and gave them their own twist.

Umm guys, do you think I can return to Heroica?

A warm welcome back, Dharkan! I moved Isabella's Gallery-information to the new Archive-topic the other day because you've been inactive for so long, but just make a new avatar picture for her and I'll add her back!

Why would she need to do that?

Yeah, a lot of older Hero pics seem to be vanishing, probably because they were hosted on sites that discard images after a certain amount of time. :sceptic:
