Kintobor Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 I doubt I'll be able to update today, 101-103. Sorry guys, I've got relatives over from Nova Scotia and we're taking them to see stuff. I hope you guys understand. Quote
Zepher Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Yes, but that's partially thanks to the relics. NPCs can get killed (depending on the QMs choice) if they are KO'd at the end of the battle, after all. But nevertheless, heroes of Heroica shouldn't get killed (except by old age) as long as they are members of the organization. I think that's rather restricting. I understand that heroes can't be killed, but magic is not infallible - why not let it just not work that way sometimes. Some Red Assassins have bypassed the Red Death, some Heroes can die. Some have already died, actually, and I think it was awesome, personally. I hardly understand our universe without magic in it. With magic in it, well, mistakes can happen. I think that's what Zepher means. His second character possibilities are currently NPCs and he plays his NPCs on hardcore mode to encourage PCs to think well about how they treat the sock puppets. When the time comes he'll promote his favourite (surviving) NPC to his second PC slot. My NPCs will remain NPCs. My PCs will be entirely new characters. Quote
Endgame Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 (edited) If that restriction cannot by any means by dodged, perhaps have your hero fall comatose? (In regards to how Daxus was so brutally killed though, I don't think any amount of magic can keep someone alive when they've been impaled through the stomach, kidney, liver, heart, lungs, jugular, and ribcage.) Edited July 21, 2014 by Endgame Quote
Zepher Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Or renounce Heroica with their last breath? I mean, it wouldn't really be hurting the game for anyone else, so I don't see the harm in it. Quote
Endgame Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 That works really well too. On that note, 105 will have optional permadeath on. Inform me beforehand, and in the case that your character dies, I may have something planned. Quote
Emjajoas Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 On that note, 105 will have optional permadeath on. Inform me beforehand, and in the case that your character dies, I may have something planned. Optional Permadeath? How's that going to work? Quote
Zepher Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 I did it for 53 as well - I just had people PM me their preference! It was actually a ton of fun. Not many people took me up on it, but it still added some scare. I'm certainly doing it for my final finale as well. It's not something that needs to be used an awful lot - Guffington and Russel finales won't have it (heck, we're already on the Russel finale) because they just aren't quite as dangerous. Quote
Zepher Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Speaking of escaping the Red Death: I've created a page for the Red Assassins where I explained how it could be done. I got yo' back, Sandy. The page. Hopefully it serves to make Ms. Loc even more bad megablocks! Quote
Sandy Posted July 21, 2014 Author Posted July 21, 2014 I get the relics thing, but if a player decides to kill off their character shouldn't they be able to do so? Just asking, for clarification but why was it established that heroes were immortal in the first place? Of course they can kill off their character, they just have to retire from Heroica first. The immortality was made to ensure that no matter how dire the situation, the heroes would always make it back to the Hall even if their quest failed horribly. Quote
JimBee Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 That's partially what Category pages are for--tomorrow I'll go through and add more categories as I can think of them, and start linking a few key ones on the front page. Yeah, right now the site is difficult to access. There are a lot of pages that you can only find through a search or through another page's link. I don't see where you can get to the categories page from the front page or menu. The wiki content drop down menu is also blank. Yes I know the site is brand new and these things take time, but there's cool stuff to read, dammit. For example I just stumbled upon the Baltorak page which really helps me understand the Baltorak Trilogy quests a lot better. Quote
Zepher Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Yeah, I think as the site fleshes out we're going to have an easier time! It's only been around for a few days. When we have links installed, navigating will be easier. For example, I have a page for Samuel Shawe and Avery the Red Assassin - as soon as I have a page for Quest 72, those two will be linked, and navigation will suddenly become easier! Quote
Sandy Posted July 21, 2014 Author Posted July 21, 2014 I don't see where you can get to the categories page from the front page or menu. There's a green "Categories" link at the bottom of the front page. You can see all the categories by clicking it. It's essential that you categorize the articles you write asap. That way people can actually find them. Quote
Cutcobra Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Theleg Oco = The Lego Co. I just realized this. Quote
Palathadric Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 I'm pretty sure I mentioned it before, although it must have been at least a year back. Quote
Cutcobra Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 I'm pretty sure I mentioned it before, although it must have been at least a year back. I probably missed it, then. Quote
Siercon and Coral Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Is there a master items list, that lists all items, their pictures, and what they do? Kinda like the marketplace, except more in depth? Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Is there a master items list, that lists all items, their pictures, and what they do? Kinda like the marketplace, except more in depth? Well, it's more like a "Master list of everything up to Quest 36#," but this is about the closest to that that I believe you'll find on here. Quote
Zepher Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 We're working on transferring things over to the Wiki! Feel free to help. Quote
Kintobor Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 (edited) QM Note: Sorry, I need a little more time to build the Ozmath Marchlands. You like the pretty pictures, don't you? Considering your building skills, I'm certain the marshlands will look wonderful. Edited July 21, 2014 by Kintobor Quote
K-Nut Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 QM Note: Sorry, I need a little more time to build the Ozmath Marchlands. You like the pretty pictures, don't you? It'd better be pretty dammit! I'm tired of trying to roleplay while we awkwardly wait. As Kinto said, I'm sure it'll be great. Quote
Kintobor Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 As Kinto said, I'm sure it'll be great. Actually, it was both informing Sandy he made a spelling error in the nicest way possible, and me telling him I'm excited to see this swamp since. Quote
Chromeknight Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Actually, it was both informing Sandy he made a spelling error in the nicest way possible, and me telling him I'm excited to see this swamp since. since the scene will be exciting enough to cause errors, delay to double check work may be best.
