Endgame Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Look, when I first joined Heroica, I was using an HP from 2006. I hosted 36 on that thing. I'm used to using less than optimal computers. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 I have a Toshiba from '06 that I use from time to time. Some low-clock-speed dual core Pentium, 1 gig of RAM, video card so bad that it's the budget version of Intel GMA series, screen is fifteen inches of bluish blurriness. Idled at 60% CPU and 80% of RAM after years of using Vista, but I installed a Linux distro (CentOS) and now it uses its resources at a normal, acceptable rate. By no means fast, but it's been useable and reliable when I've used it. Quote
Endgame Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 I actually called that old rig "Old reliable", as cliche as it may be. And then I booted it up and there were rainbow-y lines going down the HP screen, followed by a BSOD. (This is after 6 months of random shutdowns.) Quote
Flipz Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 (edited) Trying a different--but hopefully still logical!--take on the Diplomacy skill that will hopefully make it a little more useful. Let me know what you think! (And yes, this idea was given to me by one Athena Cykes, and if you don't know who she is I highly recommend you look her up, I am a huge fan of the work she is from (obviously ). ) Edited July 28, 2014 by Flipz Quote
Endgame Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 If you keep using her mechanics and OST, Flipz, you'll have to introduce Aristotle Means to balance it out before long. Quote
Flipz Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Way ahead of you. "Look. I know it's hard for you heroic types to understand, but sometimes you can't save everybody. " Quote
Endgame Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 (edited) I expect the final boss to drop a trickster's mask, Flipz. Edited July 28, 2014 by Endgame Quote
Flipz Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 (edited) I tried to figure out a way to throw revisualization and thought routes (WARNING: SPOILERS!) into the Quest, but there just wasn't a logical way to do so. Edited July 28, 2014 by Flipz Quote
Kintobor Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Sorry if the updates were a little slow today, I've started replaying Link's Awakening for the Gameboy Colour. It's got some sentimental value to me, seeing as how it was one of the first games I ever played. Never got past the second dungeon, though, seeing how I was either four or five. Quote
Endgame Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 (edited) I played Majora's mask at the same age. I would leave the room whenever I had to put on a mask due to the "Link scremaing in pain" animation. Edited July 28, 2014 by Endgame Quote
Sandy Posted July 28, 2014 Author Posted July 28, 2014 Granted I'd be very low involvement the 2nd to last week in August due to being on a honeymoon. Ooh, congratulations! Does your future spouse know she/he's marrying an ogre? Quote
Flipz Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Well, we finally broke Arthur's silent streak at least. Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 I'm Currently running a custom built Gaming Pc with a GTX 650ti, 8 Gb's of ram and i5. I also have an amazing 21" monitor . BUT, This thing does not like the post editor, It sometimes, mid sentence, brings what I'm typing to the beginning of the sentence. Like: ke trainsI Li Quote

StickFig Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 ... due to being on a honeymoon. [/size] Congratulations! ... but I installed a Linux distro (CentOS) and now it uses its resources at a normal, acceptable rate. Down with Windoze! Quote
Flipz Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Doubt it's your PC. The editor just sucks. I have the same issue. Exactly. One of the many reasons the plain-text editor is far superior to the rich-text editor. Quote
Endgame Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Are you using chrome? The only time I have that issue is when using chrome... Mozilla doesn't have that issue. Quote
Palathadric Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 No really, in Windows there really is a "Choose What Closing the Lid does" in Power Options. It seems you're not as in the can as we thought...but maybe Windows is in general. Quote
Endgame Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 (edited) I set that. (It was set to sleep mode the entire time, although bizzarely, power down was an option! I set it to "never".) However, when you power off the laptop, there isn't a guaruntee it goes back on - same with putting it to sleep. I get the bad feeling it has to do with the physical cables that connect to the power button/control when the laptop goes into sleep mode. I have sleep mode disabled completely, but the powering on/off thing is a big issue too. :tounge: Edited July 28, 2014 by Endgame Quote
Kintobor Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Cool scene, Sandy! I didn't know Throlar had the same abilities as the Flash, though. Quote
Cutcobra Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Cool scene, Sandy! I didn't know Throlar had the same abilities as the Flash, though. Throlar ain't there, that's Sarge (I think). Quote
Kintobor Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 (edited) Oh, pfft, so it is! Looks like someone here needs glasses, and it ain't you, Sandy. Edited July 28, 2014 by Kintobor Quote
JimBee Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 As good as this seems, I'm not unscathed, I still have the bleeding by 10 effect for the next round. Actually, since Aura healed you to full health, shouldn't the Bleeding effect be remedied? Quote
KotZ Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 I have to say it's real good to be in a quest again. Quote
