Flare Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Hey, I'm actually quite looking forward to the overhaul. But I've been waiting forever to return as a Beast Warrior and now when i finally have a chance, Sandy closes it Slightly frustrating! Quote
Endgame Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 You'll get your chance to be the big bad wolf in the field of little bunnies eventually, don't fret. Quote
Duvors Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Because the complicated speech pattern of the U'kin which is complicated has gotten you addicted to the complicated addicting speech pattern of the U'kin. "Fair." Seriously though, how is one hero against seven more experienced heroes fair? Because the one hero just refuses to cooperate with the rest of them at all? Look how much the pace of the Quest has improved since the split. Unikitty just has to give Throlar this: Extra Extra Extra Large Pixy Stick: Gives the consumer 14 turns per round. Which he then immediately sells to Guts. Nah, because it spills and gets Lost Forever if Throlar gets KOed in his fight with the rest of 100. I laughed while reading this, even though I have no idea what one of these 'Pixy' things is. Maybe it's just roleplaying. I don't think Lord Duvors was purposefully slowing the quest down by having his character make other decisions. I really hope someone like Elphaba joins his side or something to give him a fair chance at beating the other heroes. Thank you. Try Questing with him yourself. Until then, though, let's just agree to disagree, shall we? Acctually I don't try to slow these things down, it just happens. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 I've brought it up before, but it's a real shame how Expert Class availability is so narrow. [...] How about Skirmisher, Harlot, and Regulator? I really want to see more Skirmishers, actually, in part because Skirmisher is supposed to be by nature part of a larger force, and it's just plain weird being a solo Skirmisher in Heroica. Skirmishers will most likely be a possible reward of my next quest. When it actually gets hosted...I have no idea. I know what I want to do, I just don't have the time. (Or the bricks, actually, since I'm away from my collection for three-quarters of the year, plus a lot of my bley tiles are tied up in a set of the bridge of the Executor for the Star Wars community build game.) Endgame Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 It's a tube of colored sugar sold as candy. I'm serious. Although, hm, something sugar based may be a good consumable down the road... Quote
Chromeknight Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 (edited) Unikitty just has to give Throlar this: Extra Extra Extra Large Pixy Stick: Gives the consumer 14 turns per round. With only one hero in the party, this is functionally equivalent to "immune to free hits" If he's battling a single enemy it's not even that, it's just autorun 14 rounds at once. Which is an invitation to the conditional action from Hel. Edited August 3, 2014 by Chromeknight Quote
Endgame Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 I never said Throlar would win, it'd just make the odds less skewed. Quote
Zepher Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 It's not like Sandy forced Duvors to separate from the group. Then I'd shout "unfair". Duvors has made his own choices. His role-play doesn't bother me, but to balance that out, the QM's response doesn't bother me either. Also, damn it 105! I just went to work! That was it. Two pages. Hopefully the quest slows down a little so I get a chance to actually play. Quote
Endgame Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 You will, don't worry. We've actually gotten through that bit far faster than anticipated, though... Quote

I've noticed that spelling in Boomingham's speech far too many times for it to be a simple typo. Quote
Zepher Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 I spell it with one L in world because Helvetia only has one L, so I imagine Hel would be called that. Also, Hel is cold in this world, so I'd never refer to the "fires of Hel" but rather the "icicles of Hel" (or something like that ). It's just some fun lore I like, I don't mind if no one else does it. Different cultures may have different sayings/beliefs, so I always just chalk any inaccuracies up to that! Quote
CMP Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Out of curiosity, is there a reason people keep spelling hell with one l? I've noticed that spelling in Boomingham's speech far too many times for it to be a simple typo. It's in reference to the goddess of death in Heroica, Helvetia. Quote
Zepher Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Also, just to be clear, Boomingham honestly was just trying to shake the Sand Queen's hand and ask her a question or two about the organization he's been a part of for so long. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 (edited) I bet I know what typeface they use in Hel(l). (This would have been more funny if it was an font option in the reply editor. Not quite as funny when it isn't...Was that what Helvetia was originally named after? The two seem too much alike for it to be a coincidence.) Edited August 3, 2014 by Lind Whisperer Quote
Endgame Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 You can never tell, and I'm sure that's part of the joy of playing/responding to Boomingham. Quote
JimBee Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Songs keep getting stuck in my head from seeing quest titles. , . Out of curiosity, is there a reason people keep spelling hell with one l? StickFig Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 (edited) Diana immediately purchases the Precision Bow. Heh, I was going to say that if no one else bought that, Matthias would certainly pay more than 50 gold for it in the hall... if anyone loots it from Diana, the offer stands. Aside from that, he wouldn't mind having a Sanctified Rito Crossbow, but don't expect as much gold as for a Precision weapon. "Just tell them what to kill and what to loot." Heweyrt: An NPC who gets it. Edited August 3, 2014 by nstickney Quote
Endgame Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 (edited) "Don't Fear The Reaper" was the original quest title! Also: Nstickney, you're somehow confusing the quote system into thinking Flipz is me, somehow? Edited August 3, 2014 by Endgame Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 (edited) "Don't Fear The Reaper"... Love that song. First heard a partial segment of it on AoS. The whole Romeo and Juliet suicide thing is a bit of a downer, though, since it changes "Don't fear the reaper" from meaning "I"m walking through a world of death and surviving*", to "Come on, let's commit suicide - it's totally a romantic thing to do together!". *Well, that's what it sounds like to me... Zepher Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 You can never tell, and I'm sure that's part of the joy of playing/responding to Boomingham. Yeah, but I also like meeting an NPC who likes me once in a blue moon. I just got off a Scuba quest, where every NPC looks down on you or hates your guts, and now it turns out that the Sand Queen doesn't like him and Masson and he haven't patched up their relationship yet. Strange, considering their last correspondence. Quote
Endgame Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 I do have an NPC planned that Boomingham will probably hit it up with not too far away. He likes booze, cigars, and holds a position of authority. Perfect fit. Quote
StickFig Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Also: Nstickney, you're somehow confusing the quote system into thinking Flipz is me, somehow? Wow, that's not even the post I was quoting.... nice catch! Should be fixed now. Quote
Flipz Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 I think we have both a Hell (a warm, firey place of damnation) and Hel (a cold, frostbitten place of damnation ruled by Helvetia). Quote
joeshmoe554 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Thank you for the multiple replies I had a feeling there was something I was missing and it was bugging me. Quote
StickFig Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 "Please, the pleasure is all mine!" exclaims Heweyrt, making a sweeping bow. It is not clear if he is mocking her or not. "Though I'm not sure how you can know it's a pleasure to meet me, seeing how little you know about me! I hope I don't force your foot into your mouth." Zepher, do you ever play any NPCs who aren't contrary by nature and built to make every Hero question all they hold dear? Quote
