Flipz Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Out of curiosity: How many of you are planning to use your second character primarily as "roleplaying character whose stats don't matter that much because I have my first character," and how many of you are planning to use your second character primarily as "stats-focused character because I want to try some new classes that my first character didn't use"? (Just assuming that everyone roughly falls into one of the two categories.) I'll be doing some of the latter, but I definitely want to concentrate on the former. For me, it's mostly the latter. I have a few story ideas, but for the most part I'm done with player character story arcs. As I've said, I want to play a female non-human Rogue (still leaning towards Noel's girlfriend), and I want to try some different classes and play styles--Witch is one I'd like to play, and perhaps Raider as well. I'm a little tempted to test drive the updated Sorcerer as well, even if I'm kinda tired of playing Mage classes at the moment. Quote
Flare Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Kintobor, you know that my last comment in the Hall was directed towards your new character... Quote
Kintobor Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Kintobor, you know that my last comment in the Hall was directed towards your new character... Sorry, Benji! Polly sort of hijacked that, and with my character if she can avoid a conversation, most times she will. Quote
CMP Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 I've definitely been enjoying Miderun/Polly in the Hall, and I know I'm late to the party, but Polly's avatar (with Mr. Saunders) is awesome. Yeah, I like the repertoire we're all building. Quote
The Legonater Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Yeah, I like the repertoire we're all building. I agree, all you guys are doing a fantastic job with your new characters! Quote
UsernameMDM Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 I am going to play my second character like Hoke: stats > RP, but still RP. I have the race/gender figured out, played around with making a fig for it, debating on the class, but I am pretty sure what I want to do. Should we just go ahead and announce what we want to do as heads up? Or all just race to get to the 2nd character, winner takes all? Quote
Sandy Posted August 7, 2014 Author Posted August 7, 2014 Should we just go ahead and announce what we want to do as heads up? Or all just race to get to the 2nd character, winner takes all? Make more clerics! Clerics are awesome! Quote
UsernameMDM Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 What are the current PC stats based on Base Class? Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 (edited) Make more clerics! Clerics are awesome! I would like to go cleric with mine*...except that clerics don't use elemental powers like mages do, and that would kind of take away from the drama. Or melodrama... Two questions: Can a Beast Warrior transform into a gryphon? And, is there any chance that Scythes will ever be available to mages? I understand that they are "heavier" weapons, and all, but I was just wondering... *I like to plan things out a very long time in advance. Edited August 7, 2014 by Lind Whisperer Quote
Palathadric Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 (edited) I think I've mentioned what my second character would be a while back. WBD almost stole it, but just not quite. Sweet relief! Edited August 7, 2014 by Palathadric Quote

So gryphons are definitely an option. Sorry, I'm not going to change the weapons of the classes. You can use a scythe as a sorcerer, though, since it combines the traits of a rogue and a mage. Quote

Palathadric Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 (edited) "Aren't some of you a little old for the heroica business?" "Why would anyone want to be saved by a skeleton, ew." During Sorrows long disorientation on the nature of Heroica, Polly had slowly inched her way forward and hopped up on a stool to listen to the aging assassin more attentively, or get a better look at his decay face, but no one could tell the difference. "Wow! So did all that work for Heroica do that to your face?" Polly is my new favorite character ever. How does 40 for the helmet and 170 for the bow sound? Instead of giving Sorrow 600 gold, why not keep it in circulation and give Sorrow the 40 for the helmet while giving the rest to Erik? Also, darn it, I've been asking for that helmet since it was first dropped in Quest 66. Just my luck that I'm not in the hall presently! Also, I've been looking for an Aquamarine for sometime. Khorne Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 "Ah, miss Loc, how lovely you look this morning! And why did you lie to us? That innkeeper was not an assassin and by extension not a friend of the Wolfgang, and I doubt you are a member of the Red Assassins yourself, so what was that little charade all about? How did you plant the letter and the sedative? And how do you justify killing her? Now that I think about it you're probably Wolfgang, and if you are then that bloody drunkard might just as easily be one too, that would explain why he didn't alert the guards. Sooo... you must have met up with my companions afterwards and made them an offer of some kind, and they either agreed to it or you forcibly ejected them from Babeleth, due to what i know of Orokai he would have helped them fight and you wouldn't be here, so they most likely agreed. Unless Orokai was already on your side, and I suppose they accepted, the dwarf isn't here so I would assume he's with them then, keeping an eye on them and all that, and would I be stretching it to say that there's a fourth member of your little band with them as well? Not discounting the presence of a new face here but I don't think that's so, if we've seen three of you already we've most likely also seen the fourth. Is it Warlbartan? She's been prominent enough for it to be likely." Throlar "Sherlock Holmes" Whinegelm . Too bad your Watson is technically dead, though . Quote
Emjajoas Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 (edited) I'll be going on a small weekend trip starting tomorrow night. I'll only be home Sunday night, so if the party of 109 could take action for me in battles, it'd be great. I should have spotty internet at best for a few RP-focused posts, but... Anyways, 109 will be going up as soon as I get back, and from the looks of things, I'll have an entirely level 1 party. Be excited and ready. I know I am. Edited August 7, 2014 by Emjajoas Quote

Emjajoas Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 (edited) Awww. Sorry, level 1 party makes things a lot easier on me. As much as I'd love to take everyone along, well, it'd be tough balancing. I'll be making a mixed-level party, actually; I was talking to Khorne, and since he has a Quest coming up as well, I'll be leaving a few low-level heroes behind for him. Looks like Docken can come along after all. Edited August 7, 2014 by Emjajoas Quote

Emjajoas Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Does anyone else really want to go on 109? I'm going to close Sign-ups and post the Chosen Heroes in just a minute; want to get everything ready so we can have a smooth start when I get back. Quote

The Legonater Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 I'd love to go, but I'm heading out again for a few weeks on Sunday, so it really wouldn't make sense for me to do so. Speaking of which, I plan to put up the second Duplovia quest - Mystery in the Mines - when I come back! Quote
