JimBee Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 The doors fly open and Bobby "Young" Bucks Jr. walks in. He looks around. "Sweet. This place looks tight." He glances at the Questboard. "Cool. Some quests. None up right now, but that's 'aight. And I hear there's a bar where you don't even have to pay, right on, right on!" He looks around to see if there's anything to do, bobbing his head happily. Zepher twists the "teenage male human Rogue" archetype to his advantage! It's super effective! Although you'll have to explain inventions like "sunglasses" "mohawk" "pilot's jacket" and "dope" to the denizens of our medieval fantasy world. Quote
Endgame Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Zepher, you're beginning to sound disturbingly like my classmates from middle school. Quote

I'll have my fully self-aware AI in an automaton shell fly over on its airship and explain it to them while taking his picture. Quote
Zepher Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 We've had characters with mohawks and sunglasses already, so those things just came early . As for slang, well, it can probably pop up whenever if the history of language is totally different than ours, which, in theory, it could be. And quite honestly, though I don't speak like Bobby exactly, "tight" and "dope" and all the words along those lines are in my vocabulary and used pretty often. I (hope) everyone knows I can articulate myself, but that doesn't mean that I always do. Quote
KotZ Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Zepher, you're beginning to sound disturbingly like my classmates from middle school. I know people in my college classes that still talk like that and are completely serious. Quote
Palathadric Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 You know, there are some fights where I really hope the enemies defeat the heroes...just saying. Quote

And quite honestly, though I don't speak like Bobby exactly, "tight" and "dope" and all the words along those lines are in my vocabulary and used pretty often. I (hope) everyone knows I can articulate myself, but that doesn't mean that I always do. It's saulgoodman. Articulation is rad! Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 (edited) Um... Posted Today, 12:07 PM Glancing around, Bobby notices a announcement about a lottery! "Dope. This place gets better and better." He signs up. - Confirm your character's participation by posting in-character to this topic before the 10th of August, 2014. The post can be about how your character finds out about the lottery and sends their slip of paper, for example. Edited August 10, 2014 by Lind Whisperer Quote
Duvors Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 You know, there are some fights where I really hope the enemies defeat the heroes...just saying. I'm in a fight right now where I'd be surprised if I can defeat the enemies... just saying. Quote
Kintobor Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 I love me some changelings, especially when they get to mimic heroes who are basically immune to everything. Quote
Duvors Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 (edited) Ladies and gents, KingoftheZempk has just created the most original quest ever. Edited August 10, 2014 by Lord Duvors Quote

Flipz Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 I'm 1-0! *hasn't read the lottery yet* Crap, I'm going to have to re- rebalance this fight, aren't I? Quote
Zepher Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 It's saulgoodman. Articulation is rad! See I actually use both of those too. Um... No one likes a tattle tale/snitches get stitches. Crap, I'm going to have to re- rebalance this fight, aren't I? Not if Kiray sells it to Boomingham for a tidy profit! Quote
KotZ Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 *hasn't read the lottery yet* Crap, I'm going to have to re- rebalance this fight, aren't I? Nah just leave it how it is. Let Kiray wipe the floor with the enemies. Not if Kiray sells it to Boomingham for a tidy profit! Hah no Quote
KotZ Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Hey, I'm trying to make a female who kicks major butt in this game where there aren't many women. Quote
Duvors Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Hey, I'm trying to make a female who kicks major butt in this game where there aren't many women. Sorry, PeppermintM already did that. Quote
Zepher Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 And sometimes a strong weapon is better. But use it if you want, it's an awesome item!! And I'd argue there are a lot of kick butt females! Karie is (in a very "real" way in that she is timid and nervous and meek and lactose intolerant and all those things make her even more awesome WHEN she's awesome) and hosting Purpearl, Alexis and Nerwen right now I can tell you that they are not the sort of gals who would mess around. Nymarra too. There is a disproportion, sure, but there ARE some ladies who aren't to be trifled with. Quote
Flipz Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 The other thing to consider is exactly what weapon you're applying the upgrade to. You want to make sure it's something you'll want to use consistently for a long time, otherwise it's a waste. Quote
