Waterbrick Down Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 (edited) Hey all I'm back. Updates should be coming in tonight. :smiles: Edited August 24, 2014 by Waterbrick Down Quote
Actaeon Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Loving this final decision in #104. I thought it was going to be a simple choice, but I'm glad that there's some interesting controversy. Everyone's characters seem to have made their mind up. I feel like the only way this gets resolved is if Diana changes her mind or someone (probably Diana or Actaeon) does something extremely drastic. I'm just glad Kiray at least sided with Diana as well. Interesting how it was us three (or at least me against them two) that were bickering when we fought two battles ago. Quote

I was actually something like this would happen. Kiray, though originally wanting to bring them both in originally just can't leave Diana out to dry. Must be the conversations they've had. But no, I've enjoyed having Kiray interact with Actaeon, be it with arguments or not. Quote

I feel like since they are the only girls on the Quest, they kind of look out for each other. And same, though I can't really tell what their relationship is. Quote

Actaeon Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 That latter part is strictly platonic. I figured as much. I was actually referring to Actaeon and Kiray. Though that is also platonic, I can't tell if they're still upset with each other or not. Quote
Palathadric Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Hey all I'm back. Updates should be coming in tonight. :smiles: Hope you had a great time, WBD! Quote
Flipz Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Ahh, drat, I forgot the music! Give me a second, 104-ers... added. All right, 104-ers! You have enough information to piece everything together now. What will you decide? Quote
Palathadric Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Well Pretzel didn't make it onto Endgame's grand finale, but hopefully Muckraker will do him honour. Quote
Endgame Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 (edited) If I can get a battle order, maybe I can watch my fire elemental enemies get wrecked. Also, Flipz, I know it's not AA, but this sounds a little more like a battle, Edited August 24, 2014 by Endgame Quote
Palathadric Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Speaking of the Muckraker, I haven't seen Vash around for a while. Quote
Flipz Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Also, Flipz, I know it's not AA, but this sounds a little more like a battle, Take a listen to the theme for the first battle of 104 again. Quote
KotZ Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Flipz, I'm really enjoying this last bit for 104, even though I sort of expected it. I just can't leave Diana out there to be harmed . Quote
Endgame Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 (edited) Take a listen to the theme for the first battle of 104 again. Yeah, I know, that doesn't sound like a battle theme either. That, and Diana carries tones of Athena (or more accurately, Aristotle Means). I grab music from all over the place, though. For example, the first phase of 105's final battle will probably be I'm not sure why I'm so obsessed with having music attached to my battles. i usually just post whatever I listen to when running the rounds of that battle, but sometimes the songs just... don't fit with Heroica. Such as the ones I used for the Ameoboss/Seerus. Edited August 25, 2014 by Endgame Quote

Such as the ones I used for the Ameoboss/Seerus. First of all, how is that first theme not a battle theme?! Second of all, the theme for Diana's confession isn't meant to be a battle theme (the "battle theme" for Diana's ultimatum was and don't you dare tell me that's not a good "final confrontation" theme ).Third of all, listen to them side-by-side (and notice who the first theme belongs to): It's the same theme, the second is a reprise with a completely different feel. I've put a lot of thought into the music for this Quest, perhaps more than was ultimately necessary, but I do feel that I've managed to pick themes that accurately convey the tone and emotion of each point in the Quest. I probably won't be so choosy in where I get my music from for future Quests, but considering how much this Quest and its characters draw from Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies I felt that it would ultimately be better to keep it tonally consistent by only drawing from that game's soundtrack (and believe me, I was this close to using "Thrill Theme - Suspense" from Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney for the ultimatum, but ultimately decided "Announce the Truth 2013" was better). Plus, doing it this way allowed me to also use dual reprises to bookend the Quest--" " played as the Bostonius lifted off from Eubric and the party's hopes of a heroic 'save the day' ending rose, while " " was the introduction to the final battle where those hopes would go down in flames....so yeah, I guess protip to players on my Quests: my music almost always has clues in it, if you're familiar with the music's source. I was afraid Siecron was going to change Kiray's mind for a moment there! Actaeon is definitely not changing his mind, unless Diana does. Oh, and Flipz, how does this decision get made? I mean, as the Party Leader, it seems weird if Actaeon makes the decision for the entire group, even though only one member actually agrees with him. Quote

Actaeon Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 (edited) Advice: get familiar with it. Basically, this crossed with this. I don't want to fight Siercon! After the battle against those druids... Will the same PvP rules be applied? EDIT: If it comes to that? Edited August 25, 2014 by Actaeon Quote
Kintobor Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Karie's duplicate reacts... Very differently. Was this how she looked when she was brainwashed? "Is that you, Mistah A? Ah, no, it's Missus C!" And this is why I love call backs! Quote
Endgame Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 (edited) And then everything comes full circle! Karie's trend of getting hexed gets to the point where Karie hexes herself. Edited August 25, 2014 by Endgame Quote
Flipz Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 PvP rules posted. (Also, if anyone spots a gaping hole in them, let me know! I've tried to keep things as simple as possible while also being logical. ) Also: what is it with Dastan and PvP? (Actually, what's with that whole continent and PvP... ) I move that the continent containing Dastan, Babaleth, and all of that other stuff be named "PvPland". Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 No updates tonight folks, too busy unpacking. Quote
