:oh: I thought there were more Rangers!

Maybe that's because most of the Rangers are such active players. The Knights on the other hand may have the most players on their ranks, but they also include most of the inactive players (especially those who haven't played in a single quest yet).

There are only two errors I see here, one being that Sylph has been referred to as a "he" a lot recently. But he could just be genderless and is using "he" as a way to seem more human. It is clear that in the quest before he started using male pronouns that some people found him disturbing, so he might be using it to seem more relatable.

Until Dannylonglegs announces that Sylph is of either gender, I will count him/her/it as gender-neutral. This is a fantasy world we're playing in, I don't think there should be anything disturbing or odd about a character without a gender...

What's the other error, by the way?

Fair enough, I don't see anything wrong with it either. But even in a magical world some things are odder than others. For instance humans and elves are pretty populous in the known lands of Olegaia, but aoi are rare even in their homeland. Back on Earth albinos exist in many different species and are not too uncommon. And most creatures avoid albinos even if they are of their species (partly because they have bad camouflage) and humans have had many superstitions about them. And in Eubric we know that some species are treated differently than others. (examples, Brobric Elves seem to have a superiority complex, Orcs are oppressed for a war that happened 250 years ago) It is clear that some people find common parts of their world disturbing, like dark magic or the undead. So I don't think it is impossible that some people would find gender neutral people disturbing. Hopefully this makes sense.

The other error is De'kra related, but I didn't mention it because it hasn't been revealed in story.

Thanks for laying them out like that Sandy. :classic:

I had a feeling Knights and Mages were the most popular, but we need more rangers and clerics, who wouldn't want to follow in the footsteps of Super-Haldor?!?

I remember that back in I think September, that the Mages were the second least common class after Cleric. But I'm not surprised to see rogues still very popular.

Sandy, under Ranger you're missing Keziah Blyth, so there are 10 Rangers and 14 Rogues.

I was the first rogue to have a name starting with A. Everyone else get in line.

Yeah, but I pulled it off. Nobody wants to have a name starting with the first letter of some unshaven pirate, they want it to be like someone who has a bickering aura.

Pfft. Mages... :hmpf:

Thanks! I actually did have a bit of a panic when I originally saw the new classes, but I think a Paladin works well. They seem to share his racist qualities, and he WAS actually a general and leader, so a support class makes sense. I'm chilling in the hall for a while, perhaps we'll get to quest with each other, finally, when you return!

Interesting stats. Thanks for compiling them, Sandy. :classic:

The popularity of classes has evened out rather predictably, I think, with the Knights and the Rogues in the lead. I know I was surprised when we first started, and there were so many Rangers. I'm also glad that there's now a decent amount of Clerics, though they're still trailing all other Classes.

Go Rangers! :sweet:

There's also been something about Hybros that has yet to be revealed... in due time, of course.

I'm kind of surprised that Rogues are still popular. They technically are the weakest and have the least advantages out of all basic classes in my opinion. I picked it because it offered more chances for Hybros' story to expand (and it seemed most appropriate). Would anyone else want to share why the chose the class they did?

Good catch, I've fixed it now. I must've have my eyes crossed or something when I compiled the list...

I got excited about making a pirate and wanted more gold.... :innocent:

I guess their popularity stems from rogues being the only "badass" job class by default (which isn't to say that there couldn't be badass characters in other classes as well). People who want to test out their "naughty side" are probably most drawn to the rogue class. But what do I know, I'm playing a "sissy" cleric.

Badass lockpicking had to come from somewhere.

I was wondering wether to pick barbarian or rogue, but with the backstory that I thought up, (which is quite extensive ) I figured rogue would be a better choice, since Guts is a city guy. I think their strength is actually alright, if you see how much gold I got from Quest 13 from mugging, It actually makes sense.

I am also thinking of picking the Raider advanced class, because it fits Guts the best, I think.

What strikes me odd is that of all the classes, only the mages have all active people.

I chose rogue because when my sister and me were discussing what Fantasy role-play class we were most like, we both agreed that I would be a rogue. I don't think we had any particular reason, I just seemed roguish.

Technically, characters who are "darker and edgier" with lower morals are not necessarily "badass." Not everyone can be Batman. Likewise cute and not particularly dark characters can be quite "badass." Examples of the latter include but are not limited to; May Chang(from Fullmetal Alchemist), Kirby(he eats people and steals their powers!), and Link(in Windwaker, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks; and arguably in other games as well).

That was my thought, as well. Rogues do have some nice options in the Advanced Classes, too. (one-shot kills are always a plus - though if you're a Ranger, you get the options of both one-shot kills and revival without Phoenix Essence)

:laugh_hard:

I picked Ranger, by the way, because of the Forestmen. That's reason enough, right? :sweet:
