Waterbrick Down Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 On that note, who would want an Expert Class that involves fighting from horseback? Already been done, because what if you want to ride a griffin? Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Hey, I'll be returning from a quest soon, and I wanted to ask: can i rename weapons? Or, transfer the name of one weapon to another? See, I have a WP 5 wooden staff with wood gem, and a WP:3 Gold plated bat staff. I want my GPBS to have the gem, but don't want to spend $100 on removing and reimbuing the gem! Quote
Palathadric Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Yeah, feel free to rename it. As long as you're not breaking the game mechanics, anything goes...sort of. Quote
Flipz Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Yes, I know it's "Return of the French". Don't worry--I promise it won't be as painful this time. Hang in there, guys--next update (probably this evening so everyone has time to respond) will be the final stats (including reputation!) and the conclusion of the Quest. Quote

Also, what are the benefits of imbuing gems into weapons? Quote
Flare Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Cool. Also, what are the benefits of imbuing gems into weapons? Elemental damage. If you merge/imbue an Amethyst into a weapon, then your weapon will be darkness-elemental, giving multipliers for humanoids & other types. (although of course there's always the "not affecting" fractional multipliers, which is the con! Thats why its not smart to imbue every single gem into one weapon) Quote

(although of course there's always the "not affecting" fractional multipliers, which is the con! Quote
Flare Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Eh, I sort of have a chart like that in excel, but its not exactly like what you said I think my current setup of two bows is pretty much the best you can do. It took me a lot of planning for those things and so far it hasn't paid off because 95% of all enemies are damn humanoids! Quote
Asphalt Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 So I am guessing that if you put an Amethyst and a Diamond into the same weapon you would end up with an expensive weapon with no powers since they would cancel each other out. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 So I am guessing that if you put an Amethyst and a Diamond into the same weapon you would end up with an expensive weapon with no powers since they would cancel each other out. It would do double damage to humanoids, but normal damage to dark types and light types, and damage undead. Quote
K-Nut Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 It would do double damage to humanoids, but normal damage to dark types and light types, and damage undead. Wouldn't it do double damage to Undead too? Darkness does normal damage against Undead (unless there's a rule change I'm unaware of). Therefore it should, I think, be double damage against Darkness and Undead but normal damage to everything else. Quote

Humanoids weak to Darkness, neutral to Light = Double Damage Undead neutral to ALL elements, but only elemental damage can harm them. Dark/Demon/Undead immune to Darkness, weak to Light = Normal Damage Light/Luminous weak to Darkness, immune to Light = Normal Damage At least that is how I understand it. UsernameMDM Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Undead are weak to light. Yep, my mistake. Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 (edited) This is why I have demonic scissors imbued with an amethyst and diamond. Double damage to Humanoids, Double damage to undead. NO DAMAGE TO DAMN ETHEREALS! Update in an hour or two 106'ers! Edited September 9, 2014 by Pyrovisionary Quote
Kintobor Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I seriously love ethereal enemies. It's become the norm to cram as many gems into a weapon as possible that seeing an ethereal show up and just troll a party is simply amazing. That's why most of Karie's main weapons like Sexy and her Oculoid Palm aren't actually imbued with any gems; I don't necessarily combo on enemies but I don't become hindered by anything like ethereal enemies. Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Ok, so: Imbue gems for extra damage against eeeeeevil. Dont imbue clashing gems , they will cancel each other out. Right? Quote

Yea, Benji would be screwed by an ethereal enemy unless he went into beast mode Quote

Asphalt Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Sounds like a plan. So you have your dark, fire, earth Chopsticks of Might, and your light, water, air Bedpan of Doom. Quote
Duvors Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Already been done, because what if you want to ride a griffin? Quote
UsernameMDM Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Wait. I'm a Mage, I can cast spells. Will this make it useless to have the weapons? Or will it mean I don't need ether? Imbued gems only affect physical attacks with your weapons, and a PC cannot use an imbued gem for spells. If you don't plan on using your weapon to perform physical attacks, I would leave it alone. Plus you need a neutral weapon when Ethereal enemies show up. Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Thanks for your help all. I got some disimbuing to do! Quote
