Tachyon Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Wait, are all the halloween quests going to be linked as the stories that are told by the midnight society ? Quote

Zepher Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Looks awesome. Great intro. Sorry for the delay 107, took me a while to get into the groove of things (getting all the side quests together) but updates coming right now. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 (edited) "Submitted for the approval of the Midnight Society, I call this little piece....The Tale of the Sea Fiend." Waaait a minute - tell me this we aren't going St. Elsewhere here. 114# did happen/is happening, right? The person is just retelling a story that they heard about/experienced. Zepher Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Yes. If you read all the words on the page, you'll see the quest takes place 6 weeks before the teller tells it. Quote
Khorne Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 "Stations, what are those?" "...I have to second this... Stations for what?" Is "station" not a correct word? The thing I had in mind, was like in the Elder Scrolls (or whatever RPG, real-world company), where you can take a carriage or Silt Strider to some other place. A transport service for people. With different starting points and stations. Like the Pony Express, but more solely dedicated to transporting people through Dastan. EDIT: CMP, is that Moby Dick's tail on the horizon in the picture of the sailor looking at the sea? Quote

Please discuss this kind of stuff in Culture & Multimedia -forum. Comparing tv shows or movies of two totally different genres is pointless, though. Different strokes for different folks. Quote

Um, if you're going to link to...sites of questionable legality, please add a disclaimer. It saddens me how few people seem to have watched 90s television. I actually haven't watched St. Elsewhere in specific, I've just read the theory. I have always wished that they'd issue a rebuttal, though. It's kind of annoying that the X-Files are being made out through it to not be real even in their own universe ...Ah, well, Culture and Multimedia. Quote
Flipz Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 (edited) This Level gap is going to see me sit in the Hall for a while, isn't it? Shouldn't be as bad once 107 lets out. Also, aren't you only one hosted Quest away from your second character? (Though it'd be rather hilarious if you managed to hit Level 50 at the same time you finish hosting 112. ) *counts on fingers* ...actually, assuming the QMs don't manage to KO you or force you to not wear your Medal of Glory (the latter of which I, for one, wouldn't, at least not for my Halloween Quest), you're just 6 combats away from Level 50; I can easily see a Quest go through six combats in a month or two... Lind Whisperer Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Congratulations on nearly hitting 50! It looks like Sandy is going to have to start seriously thinking about implementing 50+ classes one of these days... On a side note, I wonder if there are four battles left in #103. If we can curbstomb each room, and that doesn't take more than two or so rounds, and there are enemies in more than the Trophy Room, we should just be able to get three battles in before it's time to fight Lupine, which would make four battles total, and level 16. We have the three Master Classes. They're more than enough. I highly doubt it. Be happy you've hit Level 10+ in a single Quest--it's VERY rare to see happen; as far as I'm aware, Alexandre and I are the only other ones to have done it. Remember, this isn't a race--you've got years to keep advancing, you just need a little patience. If you really want to race through the levels, though, the Fields of Glory are the place--just be aware that they're not quite the same as they used to be... Quote

Lind Whisperer Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 (edited) But he won't have my Medal of Glory, unless he wants to make the trade. But if I trade the Medal, then I won't have it when I hit 50 someday. The chances of my being the one to win this year were very small at best. Not to mention, the chances of my winning it next year are even smaller. Granted, there are the same chances of winning any particular item every year(Unless there is some modifier I was not aware of?), but next year, the player base will have continued to grow, as well as the number of secondary characters. Granted, there is always the possibility of buying another Medal off a lucky winner, but most long-term players won't want to sell theirs, and even if they sell it, the gold cost will obviously be beyond enormous. So, much as I want to level grind, it's in my best interest to not sell it. I still say we should do a long term temporary swap. Even with a Medal of Glory, it'll be a very long time before I can even think of reaching 50. And you could spend that whole time using the benefits of the Anniversary Medal. It might not be an "Everybody permanently wins," but we'd both get a whole lot more good things out of such a deal rather than both of us getting nothing*. *Mentally replace "nothing" with "Benefits that don't match up as well as they would the other way around." "Nothing" sounded better grammatically. Edited September 22, 2014 by Lind Whisperer Quote

I'd rather just trade and be done with it because that is what we would basically be doing anyway. Otherwise, Hoke will just get it back after the quest is over so level 40 can come a whole lot faster. Quote
