UsernameMDM Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 but the rest are random fantasy figures unrelated to actual player characters. I think that should be remedied. Quote
Endgame Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Hmm, I could in 105... But I cannot guaruntee that they will, well, live. Quote
The Legonater Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 The people in the banner aren't supposed to be anyone specific. There's a few coincidences (or at least I believe that's what they are) but other than that they're separate characters. As for the banner itself, it wasn't that long after Heroica started. I think it was right when the sub-forum was created? Quote
K-Nut Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 I think that's right, which was for the first anniversary celebration if I'm not mistaken. I don't think they need to be actual NPCs or PCs. It's nice having generic characters that capture the feel of the game. Quote

Myrddyn Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Moved from Rules and Discussion: To reinforce what JimBee said, when I started out, after my first quest I dumped all my money into weapon upgrades for a WP: 5 Spear. Got it up to WP: 9, I think. Then I went on my next quest, and pretty much the first loot I got was something like a WP: 10 lightning sword. Now, besides when I'm healing, that sword is one of my weakest weapons. So it's all well and good keeping a weapon or two to roleplay, but sooner or later you're likely to pick up a "Chainsaw hand of Doom: WP:20, Darkness-elemental, causes *bleeding 100*", or a "Boomstick: WP:30, Dual-strike, Fire-elemental, Handcannon" or whatever, and maybe you'll keep your "Deck of Cards: WP 5" as a back-up and for roleplaying, but you won't really use them much anymore. That's pretty much what happened with Tesni's "Cryfder", I think - she still has it, but it almost never gets used. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 True, but I'm trying to play this like I do with other games(namely, SW:tOR). Make a basic idea, with one or two unique traits, and stick with it. I'm leaving room open for changes, but I'm also having a bit of fun role-playing a unique character. It is, after all, Heroica: The Role-Playing Game. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 (edited) Pongcanis Crossbowman (Red) Humanoid Beast *Next to Cover* Level: 30 Health: 240/240 Defense: 6 Special: Suppression — The Pongcanis Crossbowman methodically unloads quarrels at the target; the target loses all movement next Round. The target may elect to attack or use an item in the next Round, but will automatically take a Free Hit from the Crossbowman in that case. Passive Special: Hardened — A successful assassination against the Pongcanis Crossbowman will halve his Health instead of Instantly Killing him. Drops: 30 Gold It's not my quest, but I'm just curious. What happens if you have two assassinations in a row? Does that mean the Pongcanis will have will have 1/4 of his health(half divided by a half) or will he be K'Od(two half-health assasinations)? Edited September 24, 2014 by Lind Whisperer Quote

The latter case would be worded as, "will do Damage equal to half his maximum Health. Quote
Flipz Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 (edited) "I help those creatures into the world!" says the man. "They are the symptoms of Uland's darkness, and unless they are heard Uland will never be cured. There is so much darkness here, and no one does anything about it. My mind froths. War, terror, strife, famine - I see all these things. I see the chaos. But no one does anything to control it, to channel it. I am Valentine the Chaomancer, and I am here to bring order to the chaos, so that it may flourish. Chaos is a tool, but on this island, it runs rampant, and this island suffers for it. Now, as I said, flee. Or this land will consume you, as it has consumed so many others." Alexis: "You sound like my ex-boyfriend." Also, was the name Valentine deliberate? Since the Zeigfried one (Valentine Zeigfried) is Arthur's birth mother? EDIT: So apparently Masson Cour's father is played by Jeff Goldblum. Edited September 24, 2014 by Flipz Quote
Cutcobra Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Do I have to sign up for Fields of Glory with a party or can I just sign up now and wait for the QM to make a party? Quote
Flare Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 (edited) Do I have to sign up for Fields of Glory with a party or can I just sign up now and wait for the QM to make a party? Either one is acceptable, but it seems that pre-made parties are usually accepted over individuals I'd really like to go to the Fields as soon as #110 ends, so maybe we can grab a couple others and plan to sign up as a group. Edited September 24, 2014 by Flare Quote
Asphalt Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 I want to give the fields a try, but will that conflict with the Halloween quests? If not, then sign me up. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Count Lind in on that party. Quote
KotZ Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 (edited) Heads up, CMP, I'm going to make a "Hail Hydra" joke at somepoint in this quest. Also 110ers, I hope to have major updates tonight, need to take pictures first though. Edited September 24, 2014 by KingoftheZempk Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 ^Why do I have a feeling the game mechanics will be featuring a really, really fast respawn rate, with a x2 modifier. Quote
Sandy Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 Quick question: how long ago was the current banner made? One of the forum admins, Hinckley, made it when the Heroica RPG subforum was launched. The first three ones are supposed to be Rufindel, Ellaria and Nyx, and there's Shadina as well, but the others are just figbarfs to my knowledge. Quote

Did Ellaria dye her hair then, or did they not have the part in that color? Edited September 24, 2014 by Lind Whisperer Quote

Asphalt Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 (edited) Well I got my first custom version of Vindsval done. Not completely satisfied, but I can live with it for my first try at painting lego. He is casting healing in case you wonder why he has those arms. Here is his thread in the Minifig Section http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=100613 Questions, comments, critiques, and complaints are all welcome. Endgame Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 (edited) EDIT: So apparently Masson Cour's father is played by Jeff Goldblum. Actually, he's meant to sound like obscure character ( and by "like", I mean "exactly" )from Transistor, though I suppose Jeff Goldblum is pretty accurate. He can express emotion easily, though, Royce Cour can hardly do it all, ever. Edited September 24, 2014 by Endgame Quote
samurai-turtle Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Do I have to sign up for Fields of Glory with a party or can I just sign up now and wait for the QM to make a party? Heck, I will be willing to go with you guys. So, it looks like it could be: Cutcobra, Flare, Asphalt, Lind Wisperer, and Samuraiturtle. If you are willing to take half of us. Quote

Lind Whisperer Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 (edited) Is this what you are looking for? "If you can think of it, it already has been thought of" applies. I guess Jay Baruchel would have to double act as both Arthur and Lind - he's about as close to a real life version of Lind as you can get, at least facially. When it comes to mannerisms, though, he's a lot closer to Nathan Fillion, in that sort of "intentionally acting roguish, but actually being about as Light Side as is possible," way. An older Lind would probably look like a moderately shaved Hugh Jackson*(just without the Adamantium skeleton). *Think "Real Steel". Edited September 24, 2014 by Lind Whisperer Quote
