I'm assuming that starter decks will consist of randomized card selections? And are players are allowed to trade/sell cards with each other outside of combat?

Yes, you cannot pick and choose cards.

And of course players can trade cards just as they can any other items.

The update for 113 is going to be delayed a little bit, Brickshelf appears to be down. Sorry for the wait!

Well that throws off my updating of 110 slightly too. I can work around it.

So when hosting a quest is it ok to use images of builds you find around the webs? I want to run some quests down the road, but my figs and builds are more than a little limited.

Posted

No, it's not; not without proper permission, anyways.

If you want to host a quest, plan it out, and then ask around and someone will most likely build your sets for you if they have the time.

That's what I've been doing; Waterbrick Down built the sets for my first quest, and Pyrovisionary will be building them for my second quest unless someone else volunteers.

Speaking of which, Pyro is also doing some builds for my Halloween Quest, but if anyone else would like to help out, I'll happily accept--there's quite a few sets, and I don't want to kill Pyro with the workload. :sweet:

I would also recommend using LDD/LDraw/SR3D if you're short on bricks. Even LDD screenshots can look half-decent with some editing.

My profile picture is what LDraw can look like when a background is edited in(although I am planning to swap it out for real bricks when I get the chance).

If you want to take LDraw a step further in lighting, you can use a Blender import plugin, light the scene, switch to "Render" and take a screenshot/render the picture. It's a lot quicker than POVRay, and you can get some beautiful lighting with practice.

There's technically no rule against it. It might be considered bad form, but that's between you and the original builder. You've got several options, LDD or any other digital program takes some getting used to but Brickdoctor's latest quest shows it's versatility. Find someone to build for you, there's a few of us on here with good size collections, but not necessarily enough time to dedicate to running a full quest. Lastly, you can attempt to work with a simple parts selection, you'd be amazed how much can be done with a single set like this one. Rumblestrike's Quest 13 and Quest 32 are great examples of limited and simple scenes but an excellent story. Set building for quests, is more about taking a good picture than building the perfect scene. Most of my sets aren't complete and have just enough to give the illusion of something more.

Kintobor, do those Fur Leggings cause beasts to move their free hits onto other players, or that the beasts free hit is nullified? It wasn't clear from the description and I can imagine that it could be a little confusing

Posted

It nullifies Free Hits. It's similar to the Crow Helmet I created a little while ago.

Is the rule of thumb then, that if it's on fours, it's a beast, and if it's on two legs, it's not a beast(E.g., will not deflect?)?

All enemies have a type, go reread the most recent battle, and the rules.

Hey all, leaving for another weekend without wi-fi. 102 and 107 will continue as normal due to the generosity of Flipz. In 110, CMP may act/speak for Bobby. In 105, Kinto or Em may act/speak for Boomingham.

Thanks for bearing with me, everyone! This is my final weekend without wi-fi (as far as I know) and both 102 and 107 are in their final stages. :sweet: (Though I feel I've been saying that about 102 for a while now. )

EDIT: And 107, I'm sorry for rushing you. I didn't want to leave for the weekend without giving you something to do.

You were rushing?! :wacko::tongue:

Even though it's all out-of-character knowledge for the rest of us not on Quest 100, this is really some interesting stuff, so keep it up questers.

For just 200 gold you could give me a question to have Sarge ask!

Joking aside, I haven't much to ask Ulric. Maybe: "What is your favourite cheese" I see him as more a cheddar person.

To be honest, I'd almost do that. Except for that any funds from 103# are either already allocated/will be needed very shortly. That, and I don't know if Sandy would allow it.

"Depends if he wants 10 gold each or total. If it's 10 each, can't you or Lynn do something? Daddy was always telling mommy she could "make him a better offer" when he wanted something, and you're both Mommy and Daddy's age."

*

*I also face-palmed in real life.

It looks like I'll be hosting two quests at a time again. You'll get to see how the houses of Bonaparte and Ji Pei are faring nowadays. And it looks like I'll be returning to Xu after all, despite saying I wouldn't after Quest#75. I just can't help it when a storyline takes new shapes in my head.

Expect to see the pitches on the Quest Board soon.

One of these days, I really need to be back at the Hall in time for a Sandy quest.

Same here, although I need to do a bit more leveling first. It'd be the perfect chance to flesh out Lind a bit more - other than at the very start of 103#, I haven't really had much opportunity to flesh him out beyond "He makes a lot of bad jokes while he fights.".
