UsernameMDM Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 It looks like I'll be hosting two quests at a time again. You'll get to see how the houses of Bonaparte and Ji Pei are faring nowadays. And it looks like I'll be returning to Xu after all, despite saying I wouldn't after Quest#75. I just can't help it when a storyline takes new shapes in my head. Expect to see the pitches on the Quest Board soon. SWEEEEEET! I would LOVE to go on the Ji Pei quest! Will either of these be part of the Halloween series? Quote
Flipz Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 No; the remaining three Quests will be by WBD, Kinto, and me. Speaking of my Quest, it offers Guild of Invision reputation, and is aimed primarily at higher-leveled Heroes. Quote

K-Nut Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 BUT! It will nullify my Ji Pei rep? Hmm.... That would be Bonaparte Rep that nullifies Ji Pei rep. If you have Ziegfried rep, that would be nullified.. Quote

Actaeon Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 I haven't been following #103, so can someone explain to me how there are 16 pages so far but there have somehow been 13 battles? Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 I haven't been following #103, so can someone explain to me how there are 16 pages so far but there have somehow been 13 battles? Continuous battle; Like in Quest #50. Used in Quests where there is constant combat. Quote

Flipz Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Where in the order is yours going to start? And how high is "Higher?" (Would approximately 22.3 be high enough?) Mine's last in line, and I'm mainly looking for players above Level 30 (though the high 20s are also acceptable). I won't be bringing anyone below Level 20, though, sorry. If people are desperate to Quest with me, though, I will be hosting the next party in the Fields of Glory, and there's no predetermined Level bracket for that one. As a reminder, if you want to adventure in the Fields, just sign up! You don't necessarily need a party. Quote
Emjajoas Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 That awkward moment where you make a dumb mistake and smoothly roleplay your way out of looking like a huge idiot. Quote
Asphalt Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Do you have to be out of a quest to sign up? There are a few of us who want to form a party but we are in adventures right now? Don't want to lose our chance at the fields though. Quote

If in the unlikely event my FoG team is not only accepted but can blitz through the 23-24 FoG battles we'd need for both Medals of Glory and Decamonizers(Which would leave me at 22.3), and get back in the Hall in time you'll probably see my name on the board, but I fully understand if that s still far too low for the quest. Don't want to lose our chance at the fields though. You can only sign up from the Hall. You can only be on one Quest at a time. The Fields are almost always up; you won't miss your chance, you'll just have to wait until the party currently in the Fields decides to quit, which usually isn't too terribly overlong. Endgame Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Especially considering that the fields have been made more difficult, I highly suspect that we're not seeing any more high GP prizes bought for a long, tlong time. Unless wandering monsters drop a million GP or something. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 (edited) Bwahaha! Blitz, through the Fields? Haha..oh giggle... Yes, I know, it's not exactly made for power-gaming. But if we set up a good auto-roll, and with a QM like Flipz who can be relied upon to update regularly, I think we may be able to do some surprising things. Unless wandering monsters drop a million GP or something. Interestingly, that was what my comment in the Rules was about. If heroes were allowed to band their GP together...suffice it to say, it would be very nice. As it is, we're looking at a minimum of 23-24 battles, for both a Medal of Glory and a Decamonizer for each player, with a nearly-full party(and we're working on that last slot). Endgame Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 What you need is someone who is on a minimum of 2 hours a day and can run roundfs in less than 20 minutes. (AKA me, but I didn't sign up for the FoG. ) Quote
Emjajoas Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Yes, I know, it's not exactly made for power-gaming. But if we set up a good auto-roll, and with a QM like Flipz who can be relied upon to update regularly, I think we may be able to do some surprising things. It's not the QM that's the "problem," it's all the players-- plus the battles themselves are harder, meaning they're most likely either more dangerous or more... sponge-y. Unless you've got a super overpowered Fields team, you're not going to be breezing through 23 battles that quickly, or very quickly at all. Really looking forward to seeing the new FoG, though, if I haven't mentioned that yet. Quote
Endgame Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 I'm exicted to see the Wandering Monsters, to be honest. I almost want to design one, but it'd be freakishly difficult. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 After the Halloween quests or Sandy quest, whatever I make it in, I would like to put together a FoG super team with the objective of getting the Decamon tool and a bunch of level up mushrooms. Quote
Emjajoas Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Same! I love seeing well-designed battles, so I'm hoping the new Fields gives me something good to study. Quote
swils Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 To get 20+ FoG battles completed in... less than a month, well, let's see. Assuming 5 minutes to have all party members post their actions after a new round is posted (accounts for IRC, IM, or other form of fast communication between members to sort out actions rapidly), 15 minutes to roll and calculate updated stats (Try mock-hosting a round of a mid-level battle sometime. It's neither easy nor quick, so 15 is a really low end and optimistic estimate), and another 5-10 minutes to update the stats and post the new round (god forbid the RTE goes bonkers on you). That's maybe 2 rounds an hour if everything goes well. If you go by the old fields, that'd get you through the early zones at maybe 2 hours each, with good rolls. Medium rounds, for a party that isn't in steamroll mode (aka, people you'd be likely to go with) would take somewhere between 5-10 rounds. Add a few more rounds for anything harder. Shoot, even if you were able to just hit 20 easy zones, that's probably 40 hours. 20 days at 2 hours a day, every day. I don't think anyone wants to do that. I wouldn't expect to get through more than 5 (and that is, again, being very generous) battles at a rate of "blazing through". Quote
