K-Nut Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 It's best just to not think about it. Especially when you're supposed to be Knocked Out... Quote
Flipz Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 Ugh. That battle took way too long to balance. Fortunately, the next few shouldn't be so hard on me (followed by a bunch in a row pretty much guaranteed to kill me one way or another). Also, I literally just got Ecrub's name. Also, obligatory "Heroica is so disharmonious, not a single Hero can use Companionship effectively" joke because of Althior's epic fail at using it in 116. Quote
K-Nut Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 Also, obligatory "Heroica is so disharmonious, not a single Hero can use Companionship effectively" joke because of Althior's epic fail at using it in 116. You have absolutely no idea how hard I face-palmed at that. I think WBD had the Wolfgang show up with it once I got KO'd just to continue the tradition. Quote
StickFig Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 Seven stood silently in that space for several seconds, before the brawling broke out. Ooooooh, spooky! Nice alliteration Quote
Endgame Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 Special thanks to Sandy for 105's third and final interlude! It would seem Brickdoctor was correct when he mentioned Immaculately Perfect Regret. (Also, trust me, the contents of that interlude surprised me too. ) Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 It would seem Brickdoctor was correct when he mentioned Immaculately Perfect Regret. I'm embarrassed to say that I don't remember what this is in reference to. Explanation, please? Quote
Endgame Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 I'm referring to this: Yes, this is around the time that it's revealed that he's actually the Immaculately Perfect Regret. (DLL was the first to mention it, though.) But you were right inside that Perfect Regret had an even more Perfect form. ALSO: It's really tempting to just 2,000 gold into the decamon tournament, since I don't plan on questing as Sorrow ever again... Quote
CMP Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 ALSO: It's really tempting to just 2,000 gold into the decamon tournament, since I don't plan on questing as Sorrow ever again... Well, the main prize is exclusive class access, so that'd be a giant waste. Quote
Endgame Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 Well, the main prize is exclusive class access, so that'd be a giant waste. Well, no, that's one of the reasons I don't want to do it, because I'd be denying someone a class they could actually use. Also, Sandy, when do the bouts begin/how long is the signup period? Quote
Sandy Posted December 7, 2014 Author Posted December 7, 2014 Also, Sandy, when do the bouts begin/how long is the signup period? I hope everyone interested will sign in as soon as possible, but I'll keep the sign ups open at least a couple of days to make sure everyone has seen the event. Quote
Asphalt Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 (edited) Sounds like it will be a blast, but based on the amount of money being spent on cards I don't see a point to my trying to enter. I barely have enough gold for the basic hand. Don't think there is much of a chance to win against the folks who have the spare gold to buy higher level cards. If I am reading the rules correctly the 5 gold deck is all level 1 cards, and they can only win against other level one cards if there is an elemental trump. So if a player with a starter deck is playing against a player with a level 2 deck they automatically lose. Correct? Edited December 7, 2014 by Asphalt Quote
Sandy Posted December 7, 2014 Author Posted December 7, 2014 Based on the amount of money being spent on cards I don't see a point to my trying to enter. I barely have enough gold for the basic hand. Don't think there is much of a chance to win against the folks who have the spare gold to buy a ton of cards. Have you read the rules of the game? A Level 1 Aquatic card can beat a Level 8 Fiery card. And you will pick up any cards you beat in the match, so if you have some luck, you can turn a hand of all 1's into a hand of 8's. Quote
Asphalt Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 I aparently missed that an elemental trump can take a card of any level. I read it as a tie breaker. I will go read a little more closely I guess. Quote
Palathadric Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 (edited) I guess we can only get level 9-10 cards by beating an NPC? I also didn't understand the thing about bets. Does it mean that the person who wins more wins everything? I apologize if I'm thick. Edited December 7, 2014 by Palathadric Quote

Does it mean that the person who wins more wins everything? I apologize if I'm thick. Bets aren't used in this Tournament, but they can be used eg. if you play against another player later at the Hall. I should've edited the rule picture for this Tournament to remove that notion, sorry. But yeah, the person who wins more in five rounds, wins the match. If there's a tie (eg. you win 2, the opponent wins 2 and one is a draw), then there will be a rematch. Whether you win or lose the match, you get to keep the cards that you beat in each round, and likewise you lose the cards that your opponent beats. Quote
Palathadric Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 The grey-cloaked rogue quietly raised his hand. "Is there anyone who would be interested in buying a Bone? I seem to find myself short on coin at the moment. I only need 2 Gold for it." I'm not sure if buying and selling is allowed in that thread. Quote
Asphalt Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 Probably not, but hopefully tossing a coupla-a-bucks is. :) Quote
Sandy Posted December 7, 2014 Author Posted December 7, 2014 I'm not sure if buying and selling is allowed in that thread. It is allowed, since heroes get to meet each other there. Just don't make it the main purpose of that topic. Oh, and everyone who posts in that topic is considered willing to participate to the event, so if you post, you have to buy cards and play, as well. Quote
Palathadric Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 (edited) I love you, Sandy! ...Does anyone on a quest want me to purchase them anything at the Marketplace...just make sure that you leave me 5 gold to spend on cards. Edited December 7, 2014 by Palathadric Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 It is allowed, since heroes get to meet each other there. Just don't make it the main purpose of that topic. And once more, Sandy proves how awesome he/she is. Also, thanks again Asphalt - I've been looking forward to the Tournament for a while. I should have been a bit more careful of my coins when I was gearing up for the FOG. Quote
CMP Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 Did you just halve the Shark Hand's price, Sandy? Quote
Emjajoas Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 (edited) He mentioned it in one of his other posts in the topic. I'll find it for you: QM Note: I see now that Shark's Hand is a bit too expensive in comparison to the others, so I've reduced it's price and gave Atramor back the excess. Edited December 7, 2014 by Emjajoas Quote
Endgame Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 It makes sense that he did. They're not that much better than the Gambler choice. For getting the odds up to an 8 card to 25% instead of 16% warrants a 150 gold increase in price from Gambler to Shark, but not much more. Quote
CMP Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 He mentioned it in one of his other posts in the topic. I'll find it for you: I must've missed that, thanks. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 Wouldn't an Ethereal 10 be an unbeatable card? Quote
