Masked Builder Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 That's not what I'm talking about. Pet Dragon and Decamon Summon are job traits. I don't believe Evoker nor Necromancer have job traits that let them use summons outside of battle. Yeah I see what you mean. But it was allowed by Sandy at the time. Quote
Flipz Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 (edited) Necromancer has a trait that allows them to communicate with the spirits of the dead, I figure that's close enough. With regards to Evoker, I think that falls under the Spellcasting trait, with the caveat that Evokers can use the trait to summon spirits because that's what they do in battle. (I also could have sworn it was mentioned on the spirit summoning page at one point, but it's not there now. ) Really though, what's done is done, and Sandy made his ruling for his Quest--which is how it should be. It's up to each QM to interpret what is inappropriate roleplay for their own Quest. If we start trying to add a bunch of hard - and - fast rules to roleplaying, next thing you know we'll have a full-on skill tree with dice rolls against DC for skill checks. Heroica has always benefited from its openness and it's players' willingness to make compromises. While I could have easily limited Miirym's actions, Sandy's discomfort seemed to imply that her inclusion in this Quest could have been problematic, so rather than unnecessarily inconvenience my QM, I chose to send her away for a while--and obviously, once I'm back in the Hall, it's back to Dragoon for good (or not, if I decide I like playing Weather Mage better). No harm, no foul. Edited January 20, 2015 by Flipz Quote

I don't believe Evoker nor Necromancer have job traits that let them use summons outside of battle. I'm not sure about Evoker, but I know undead last until the end of the quest. I've used some of them as victims for booby traps before (though I'm not too proud of that ) since they follow around the Necromancers no matter what unless they're KOd. With Quest #33, I'm pretty sure Alexis used ether to fly the dragon summon around. I don't see how that defeats the purpose of Decamon Summon and Pet Dragon. Those are class warranted summons, so they can be used as they want to be. As a Weather Mage, Arthur can't use his dragon to do his bidding since the class doesn't allow it. As a dragoon, he could. Yes, but they take up a job trait slot, when Necromancers and Evokers (apparently) can do so without the associated job trait. Edited January 20, 2015 by CallMePie Quote

K-Nut Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Yes, but they take up a job trait slot, when Necromancers and Evokers (apparently) can do so without the associated job trait. Ahhhhhh okay. I'm not sure then. Maybe we could get a ruling on it? I don't see why an already raised undead being couldn't be used in the same way as a summon, though. I've always assumed that Necromancers could do whatever they wished with their undead, seeing as they stuck around from battle to battle in he midst of puzzles and obstacles. I do agree with you, though. Either all summoning classes should have that type of action in their job traits or it should be implied for all of them. Quote
Flipz Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Yes, but they take up a job trait slot, when Necromancers and Evokers (apparently) can do so without the associated job trait. Maybe the classes need different job traits, then? It makes total sense for Evokers to be able to summon spirits outside of battle, but it would make no sense to force them to give up either Basic Class trait they get. Similar deal goes for Necromancers commanding their undead. For clarity, I'm suggesting that Decamon Drafter get a different job trait, with the summoning skill being implied. Ninjas! Ninjas everywhere!! Quote
K-Nut Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 For clarity, I'm suggesting that Decamon Drafter get a different job trait, with the summoning skill being implied. Agreed. The same should go for Dragoons trait Pet Dragon as well, right? With individual actions for the dragon, them bei able to scout should be implied. Quote
Flipz Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 I...suppose that makes sense, yes. I do think that the text of the existing traits should be added to the description page for each summon, as they would then serve as both a convenient reference and a useful inspiration for roleplaying. Quote

UsernameMDM Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 (edited) Quick question: does anyone know which quest the town of Shelbric is in? Search function is your friend (unless you're mobile). Mentioned in these quests: 42, 58, 59 & 77. Edited January 20, 2015 by UsernameMDM Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Quick question: does anyone know which quest the town of Shelbric is in? It was only mentioned in passing in 58, 59, & 77. 42 had the party headed towards it, but they got into a fight before they reached it. Quote

Lind Whisperer Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 I just wanted to say thanks to Pathaldric, for all the work you put in on the Castle Eurobricks LDraw Models - if I'd had had to build the two smithies digitally in LDraw, I doubt I'd have had the time to make the picture at the end of my Training Room post. Lind Whisperer Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 I like your character's new face. Thanks! Are they all the same person you tell me. Afraid not. Lind's face is actually part 3626cpb0704, not 3626bpx302 - the slits on the helmet cover up the cheek bones. I feel so confused. Is my virtual husband really who I thought he was? No, but Lind is/was trying to start up a relationship with your other character. Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 I believe Warlen is using/creating a nickname for Annie, since Annie and Animal have the same opening syllable. Lind hasn't responded because he's waiting for Annie to respond to his last comment. Yep, it's a nickname. I give everyone nicknames. Quote
